Sights along the way from Budapest to Prague
The road trip from Budapest to Prague is 5-6 hours, so why not take a little longer and still make the trip in one day, but see some sights along the way? Stops in Gyor, Hungary and Bratislava, Slovakia and Lednice, Czech Republic were each unique and interesting and provided a much appreciated opportunity to stretch and walk a bit as well as having lunch. Our driver/tour guide Stepan was excellent!

Seeing the country from Budapest to Prague
Great itinerary with three stops. Lednice (sp?) was my favorite though I had never heard of it before. 4 of us traveled from Budapest to Prague with Stepan He was wonderful- informative, considerate, friendly. We had a lovely lunch in Bratislava. I was very glad we chose this one way transfer rather than the train or plane.

We enjoyed the Tour with Martina. She is very sweet and was a pleasure. We were happy with our stops and have no complaints. I would do it again.

          Wonderful!
We are so glad we decided to skip the train and book our Budapest-Vienna transfer with SideTrip Tours! Martina was a delightful tour guide and we learned so much just by chatting with her. All of the stops were fantastic, and it was wonderful to see some smaller towns and villages (rather than just the big cities). Highly recommend!

Amazing road guide trip across budapest-slovakia-prague
Alex is an amazing guide, knowledgeable, great personality, friendly and a good driver. She went above and beyond by showing us as many places as possible within the hours allocated. Very informative and she really makes us feel like we're going to towns with a friend rather than a guide. Highly recommend for anyone who is going to prague from budapest to take this trip rather than taking the train, bus or even plane. Your travelling day becomes more eventful and memorable with this guide.

Wonderful way to see more sights along the way
We had a wonderful private transfer from Budapest to Vienna with Gabriela. She picked us up on time, the car was clean and comfortable. We chose to see Bratislava on the way, and were able to stop in Gyor as well. Gabriela is from Bratislava so was able to give us a lot of great information, and was very knowledgeable about Gyor as well. This was a great way to see more sights along the way from these two cities. Highly recommend!

Budapest-Prague Sidetrip Tour So Very Very Disappointed
I am really sorry that I need to write a bad review. This was meant to be a special treat and a highlight of our trip, but it was the worst day of our tour through Europe. Before we had left Budapest it was clear that there was a problem with the air-con, so our 10 hour drive became 10 hours of stress sitting in a car that reached around 37 degrees, (when I bothered to measure the temperature using a phone app). As the vehicle is designed for air-con, only the driver and front passenger could put their windows down so the back became an oven. To make matters worse the guide indicated that he knew there was a problem with the air-con and had already reported this to the company and when I spoke to the company about it, (the next day) they said the problem had been reported 2 days before our tour. As well as this while the tour guide was a good driver, his tour through the 3 towns didn't include very much information about the history of the town or about what we were looking at and later he said he doesn't usually do this tour. We often felt that that we needed to ask questions to get him talking and get any info out of him. So bottom line, is that Sidetrip Tours did not provide an air-conditioned vehicle as per our booking, nor provide a qualified or experienced guide. This was super disappointing for us as we don't usually join in on tours and this experience, wouldn't encourage me to do it again. On the plus side we did get a quick look at 2 towns and a chateu we would have otherwise have missed if we had travelled by train.

Nice way to get to Vienna
Service was very prompt and had a nice comfortable, clean van with plenty of room. They are flexible on where/when you stop. Driver spoke good english and made rhe trip very pleasant.

          Great way to sightsee!
We were going to take the train but this was way more fun because we got to visit the sights along the way. Mike was an AWESOME tour guide--he took us where we wanted to go and had an encyclopedic knowledge of history and culture in Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. He picked us up and dropped us off where we were staying. He gave us options for food and then helped us order traditional dishes that were delicious. This tour was a highlight of our trip.

          A great way to travel
This is a great way to travel between cities. Easy and efficient communication with sidetriptours had Martina meet my wife and I off the ship in Budapest on 24-May and drive us to our Vienna. Hotel. A very comfortable Renault mini-van with just us two passengers. So a 4 hour trip takes 8 hours, but this was very easy and restful. We had 4 stops where we walked towns and historic ruins and palaces, with time for ice-cream, coffee and lunch. Martina was excellent - a good driver who knows her way around and had us feeling very comfortable and safe in the car. We had wonderful conversations with her about our families, our different countries and cultures. She guided us through the trip and the stops, providing just the right amount of information for us to absorb, whilst also letting us take her off the beaten path to explore anything we thought interesting. So much better than flying or train !

Perfect transit to see what's between 2 world famous cities
We wanted so badly to find a way to see what's in between Budapest and Vienna without having to rent a car or watch it whiz by on a train. Enter Sidetrip Tours with Andi and Tomas! This was a highlight of our trip as we made several stops at castle ruins, a palace, and a couple of cute towns that were finishing up their holiday season. I absolutely loved Sopron, with it's many visible layers of history. A fascinating place we would have never known to check out. We learned so much about the history of the region and got a wonderful sense of what lies between the two great cities. There were 5 of us tourists, all English speaking, on the trip plus the guide and driver in a van, so it was very comfortable to ask questions.

One way day trip from Budapest to Vienna
Such a great day. There were 6 of us in the tour. One couple and family of four. The tour guide Andrea was so passionate and full of knowledge that she enjoyed sharing with us. It was impressive to learn about the extensive examination process the guides go through to become a registeted tour guide. She was very considerate and conscientious that we had a great experience, checking in if we were tired or wanted to hear more talking from her. Her endless effort from start to end left a big impression on us. Easily the best tour experience we have had.

          Don't overthink it!
Recently traveled to Europe to explore a bit before reaching our ultimate destination, a soccer match in England. A buddy of mine booked both this sidetrip (Budapest to Vienna) and the next one from Vienna to Prague. I really didn't know what to expect but was completely blown away by the experience. Our host Andrea and driver Thomas were friendly, knowledgeable about the history of Hungary, and accommodating for our entire group (only 4 of us). We made 4 well paced stops, all of which were interesting and engaging. If you are making the same journey you simply cant do better than to book this company.

Great way to spend a day not just travelling but learning!
Andrea was our guide between two amazing cities on our itinerary. It was not much more than a coach or train, and the difference paid was WELL worth it for all the history of Hungary. She was so knowledgeable about history and culture, as well as offered to personalize the trip according to the amount of time the group wanted to spend in each town, what types of info for her to elaborate on, etc. Never would have been able to see each of the sites at the intermediate stops by train.

Peter, our guide and his co-guide, Alex made this experience very enjoyable. They were able to answer our hundreds of questions and explain the history of the communities we visited. They were able to provide context for the things we saw to help us understand the "why's". This tour changed a simple transfer into a fun adventure.

We came across Sidetrip Tours in the midst of Reading travel blogs researching options to get between Budapest and Bratislava. Overall, we really enjoyed this trip. Emese was a wonderful guide and took great care of us on our travels. She was engaging and we will highly recommend this trip going forward.
