About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Jake F0 contributionsWorth the price. Scenic tour, and very informative. So amazing, very informative, relaxing, and beautiful. The tour drops you off at a small island and picks you up after 4 minutes. Recommend to do the 4:15 tour in the fall/spring to catch the sunset.Written October 12, 2024
- Teresa32650 contributionsDisappointed. It might be ok if you are able to get a seat on the top deck, preferably outside, or at the front of the lower deck. We couldn’t get either of these when we arrived 15mins before cruise time. Looking out through the windows you get the internal reflections of the lights and TV screen which make it hard to see out spoil the effect of the lit up buildings. The audio commentary is designed for day time viewing and is hard to match the commentary to the buildings you are passing. At one point all the downstairs inside passengers were groaning at the commentary as it didn’t relate to anything we were looking at and ignored some huge interesting looking buildings.Written October 12, 2024
- Rupert Y0 contributionsGood cruise - busy and full boat … so yes very crowded boarding - but otherwise all goodLovely night time boat trip ! Was very full ! Probably one of the most popular and a lot of big groups trying to get on the boat ! Luckily it was a cool night in September and everyone were mostly inside the boat so the roof was quite empty ! Good audio guide and the free drink was very welcome ! All be it - needed mulled wine and not a beer ! Easy to get too ! But just very busy maybe because it’s on get your guide and sold pretty much everywhere ! In a warm evening there won’t be space to sit up top !Written October 12, 2024

- localgirl0307800 contributionsWould recommend 👌Had a wonderful time. Good audio with information through headphones. 6pm departure means we saw sunset. Saw bats flying around the Hungarian Parliament building. That was cool. Only negative was the glass of fizz they served tasted awful. Cruise itself was great value. Would recommend.Written October 11, 2024
- patriciakF4676TA0 contributionsWonderful experience! Highly recommend!Professional and well run tour. Left on time and very orderly. Audio was kind of lame but they had blankets and free champagne which made it wonderful. River was beautiful at night!!!Written October 9, 2024

- HungryTarHeel0 contributionsDefinitely worth it!Definitely worth it! We took the cruise in the evening and it's a great way to see the city sites lit up at night. You get an alcoholic beverage (or a cola) with the cruise. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh crisp air. Make sure you dress for the cool air at night on the water. We had booked a later cruise but there were spots on an earlier one and they were very accommodating in letting us take the earlier cruise. Totally recommend this activity!Written October 3, 2024
- Inspire3797120 contributionsGreat evening views reasonably priced, boarding process needs improvement.Overall a great trip…but…wanting to get a good seat we arrived at 5:30 for the 6:30 cruse. We were directed on to a holding barge to await boarding. The exit door to the cruse ships was closed and there are no windows. This barge is glass Inclosed and as more passengers arrived it got unbearable hot. Problem could have been solved by opening the sliding door to the ships. Boarding could still have been controlled since the boarding ramps were chained off. Once onboard we were given our free welcoming drink. Future customers should consider that they do not allow you to purchase an additional beverage. I think other cruise ships do.Written October 3, 2024

My recommendation is to avoid this, take a nighttime cruise with drink for max 45 mins and then book yourself a table for dinner. It’ll cost you less and you’ll enjoy it more.
Booked for my husbands 50th birthday meal (belated due to covid!), I thought a candle lit meal on the Danube would be romantic and memorable.
It wasn’t!
We had a set table, which was under a bunched up plastic roof cover, I had to argue to get us moved, which they did eventually.
The welcome drink was lukewarm ‘champagne’ and they were at pains to tell you the rest of the drinks were chargeable.
We set off late and then after 30 mins had to return to the dock to collect latecomers?! Food was desperately slow, music was awful (think twangy noodling guitars in a pseudo Shadows style) and the service was dire.
Starter (scallops) was one and a half tiny scallops with a smudge of sauce, consommé was overly salty, main course took over 2 hours to come out and was lukewarm with the dessert being the best course.
The view was lovely the first time, but you literally do the same loop multiple times, passing party boats booming dance music from the decks.
We couldn’t wait to get off :-(

This was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. We went on the dinner cruise our first night in Budapest and it really set the mood for the entire trip. If you can go at nighttime when the city is lit up I would highly recommend. The food was delicious, the staff were so friendly and the views were breathtakingly beautiful. A perfect couples experience - we were just blown away!

My mother and I both agreed that the candlelit dinner cruise was the highlight of our time in Budapest. The best photos of my trip are from this boat trip. Getting to see the main sights of Budapest at dusk and at night was made even more special by the music and delicious food onboard.
It was so well organised. The staff were friendly and efficient. The musical duo consisted of a man on a keyboard and a woman singing. They were great! The food exceeded my expectations (the desert was the best I had in Budapest).
If you’re skeptical about booking, my advice is to do it. It’s not a tourist trap - the quality of the food was high and it’s a lovely memorable experience.

We chose this cruise at the last minute as it was our anniversary and we had not made any plans. It turned out to be a wonderful decision. The boat was lovely and clean and whilst we didn't have a window seat it didn't really impact what we could see. It was fabulous to see all the lights come on along the river. We started with a complimentary drink and there was also a couple providing live music which was nice. The food was great with plenty of choice and we were both happy with our choices. Our waitress Lucy was lovely and when she found out it was our anniversary (as we hadn't made a fuss about it) she brought us a glass of champagne to celebrate. It was a nice touch. I would certainly recommend this cruise. Thanks for a great night.

This experience far outweighed our expectations! The staff were really attentive and helpful. The boat wasn’t too big and we had a lovely table for 5, right by the window.
The food was really good, considering that they were catering for so many people all at the same time. There was a good choice and the food was really good. We all enjoyed the four courses with a large glass of champagne on arrival.
I would highly recommend this trip, great value for money with wonderful views of the river banks at night. You really should do it! 😀

We booked this trip as a special treat for my husbands birthday and our first trip abroad without our 3 children! The dinner cruise exceeded expectations. It was not overcrowded and a warm welcoming atmosphere on deck.
Staff were effecient and professional and timely with the 4 course meal service.
Whilst the cruise and sight seeing was delightful and the background live music both entertaining and low key, the outstanding feature was the quality of the food.
i am quite fussy with regards to meat and it has to be lean and top quality or i would rather choose the vegetarian option. I had scallops to start, followed by pumkin soup, then venison with roast potatoes and chocolate brownie. It was absolutely exceptional... What a lovely evening. We had to pay for the wine, but even that was only £15 per bottle, an opportunity to be exploited for expensive drinks was not taken.

Booked the dinner cruise online for me 30th birthday and was so excited! When we arrived the ship was pretty much empty and we’ve been sat down at a middle table. When asked if we can get a window seat as it’s my 30th they said no as it’s an allocated seating. There is no choice on their website or on trip advisor when booking to choose your seat so how is it an allocated seat? Nobody knows their seat. I’d have happily paid extra for a window seat if there was an option!!! I have found this extremely frustrating, zero flexibility!!! When the menu was given for the pre paid 4 course dinner, they advised they don’t have the soup on the menu but there is a different one instead. As i did not like the soup the had, i asked if it was possible to swap the soup for another drink and i was shut dow again that this is not possible. At this point the whole situation was just ridiculous and ruined the whole mood. I am definitely disappointed and it is a waste of money, completely ruined my 30th birthday and would not recommend. Food is ok but pretty basic too for the price, and arrived pretty much cold and chewy.
Don’t waste your money…

The dinner cruise on the Danube has been my dream for a long time and luckily everything all went perfectly for us! Early booking (weeks ahead) and early arrival (half an hour earlier than the departure rime) at the dock guaranteed the best seats for me, my husband and my adult son. We felt like doing an air pump with our fist (Yes!) when we were brought to our table.
We were greeted with a glass of prosecco once seated, which could be changed to beer or wine. However, as this was the grand finale for our stay in Budapest, only the bubbly would do. The all female serving staff, including the bartender, were all very polite and friendly. We asked for extra bread to go for our soup, no problem.
It was not Michelin star food at this price point, of course, but we fully enjoyed our 4-course meal. The duck breast with layered potatoes was delicious! Deserts of three different choices were all scrumptious.
The live music was easy to listen to, and the views both in dusk and in darkness when all of the buildings and bridges were lit up were simply mesmerising.
This experience is a must for summer months when all windows were pulled up (sunny day for us; no rain), and the light breeze would gently massage your skin, adding to the romantic atmosphere.
Some people criticised about electric candles, but what do you expect? Raw flames are dangerous and also would be blown off in no time when the boat starts cruising.
If you are short of time, then book the city cruise option without dinner. I am glad I picked the best one with Legenda as there were so many different providers and confusing prices. This dinner cruise is worth every penny in my opinion.
Once booked for this dinner cruise, just sit back and relax. We didn't even feel 2.5 hours went passed, busy taking in the views and ambience and taking lots of photos.
All in all a wonderful experience and highly recommended!

My wife and I booked on to this as part of our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebration, having read reviews of all the different dinner cruises and it did not disappoint. It is one of the more expensive but the experience was first class, the food was fresh, tasty and very well presented and the wine on offer was good quality at a reasonable price. Our waitress (Nora) was very attentive and really welcoming/friendly and the 2 and a half hours just seemed to fly-by. I would fully recommend this dinner cruise.

The food was delicious. The staff was very polite. The views of the shoreline were beautiful. The ship started to depart on time, but had to dock again to collect tardy passengers, which is admirable, as it was only a few minutes.
WORD OF WARNING…if you are placed in front of the piano player (electronic piano), ask to be moved immediately. Candlelight dinners should be soft music. My friend and I literally had to shout at each other to communicate. The piano player was banging away and it was L-O-U-D. We asked politely for the piano music to be turned down, but they didn’t. It was unbearable. My ears were ringing an hour afterwords.
Also, be cautious that they don't try to charge you for drinks, etc. that you didn't order.

It says 4 course dinner, I’m looking at going in July? Is it just a set menu or do you get to choose what you would like ?
Written April 28, 2024
I cannot remember 100%, but I believe it was a set menu, but you had options. For example, you could choose a chicken, beef or fish dish, but there were not multiple selections of each. So if I remember correctly, one fish dish, one beef dish and one chicken dish that you could choose from. Appetizers were the same way. You could choose off a list of maybe 2-3 appetizers. Hope that helps. Its a really great dinner cruise though. The views at night are amzing.
