A fantastic insight into the history and culture of the Hungarian Ruin bars.( Bianka ) our guide was excellent and took us to 3 of the iconic bars and explained in great detail the stories of each of them … it’s a great tour and we would highly recommend.

Really interesting tour plus a chance to have a great conversation and ask questions about anything. Although it might seem pricey, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening with Bianca…worth every penny and I don’t even drink! The ruins bars are colorful, quirky and play an important role in the culture of the city. This is a great tour to do when you first arrive, where you can not only visit three bars and experience the Jewish quarter, but also get personalized recommendations for restaurants and other places to visit.

A tour around the Jewish Quarter / Ruin Bars wasn’t on the top of my list when I planned to visit Budapest but I loved every second! Trying news bars and drinks (shout out to cherry beer!) was so much fun, especially led by Fanni! She is so knowledgeable and made the experience fun to meet new people and explore areas I hadn’t considered. She taught the history of the Jewish Quarter well and I loved learning about the history of such a beautiful country. Would 100% recommend!

This tour was amazing! Our guide Ferenc customized the tour for us to add somethings that we requested and avoid places we had been. He was knowledgeable, interesting and genuinely cared about whether we were enjoying the tour. Lunch was delicious. We learned background and facts we would have never known walking around on our own. I highly recommend this tour.

We had absolutely great time with Ferenc while walking through streets of Budapest. Ferenc has in-depth knowledge about Hungarian city. He kept us comfortable all along and had organised the program which suited us the best. The lunch is sumptuous and delicious. If opportunity given, we would be happy to do another tour with Ferenc.

Definitely worth a visit! Not seen anything like it before. Tends to be a young crowd but when you see the place it makes sense to why. Open till late and generally a good vibe. One of the only places we re visited over our stay.

Ferenc took my husband and me on a fabulous tour of street food in Budapest. This was our first trip to Budapest and I wanted to see where and what locals ate. The food was DELICIOUS - everything we ate or drank was so good!! Ferenc was a fantastic guide!!! It was like spending several hours with a great friend who knew everything about Budapest! We loved EVERY MINUTE of this tour!! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing tour with Laszlo! All five of us in our tour were so impressed with his knowledge, wonderful stories that really brought the sites to life, and felt like we finished the tour with much more knowledge and appreciation of beautiful Budapest.

My wife and I went on a private walking tour of Budapest with Fannie. We highly recommend you to book this tour. Fannie was very prompt and met us at our hotel lobby. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the vast history of Hungary. We had a great time and would recommend this tour and Fannie as the tour guide for anyone visiting Budapest!

Lazlo (Leslie) is a brilliant tour guide! He met us punctually at our hotel and we proceded to head towards the Buda District and Castle. He told us many interesting snippets about the locality and Hungarian history. We learned about the origins of Hungary, many famous Hungarians (Rubiks Cube, the biro pen, anyone? Amongst other interesting gems)! When reached the Castle, we were able to get some fantastic Photos of the iconic Chain Bridge and the Pest Side including the equally iconic Parliament Building. Laslo shared a number of friendly anecdotes to give us an insight of Hungarian culture. We learned about their humour, their ingenuity and their romantic side! We stopped by the Mathias Fountain, a band playing traditional music and the Royal courtyard and stables with the sunset in the background. We then stopped at a lovely café for a well-deserved coffee and cake. It was so delicious! It was getting dark, but this was perfect timing to see St Mathias Church and the Bastion (it is free after 7). This was a highlight of the tour, as we were able to see the Pest side in All its glory with Parliament lit up and other attractions (the Budapest Eye). It was so beautiful! After taking more photos and we were regaled with final stories about how some Hungarian students wish for luck in their imminent exams as well as a final World War Two story. Wow! What a history, we needed more time to explore (we didn’t get to the underground caves for instance)! With that, the tour (alas) was over. We thoroughly enjoyed the few hours spent with Lazlo (again, highly recommended) and he escorted us back to a convenient central spot in Pest to continue our enjoyment of this beautiful city! Thank you Lazlo for bringing Budapest alive for us!

We have never seen anything like the ruins and bars we saw in Budapest, Germany. The tour leader was excellent. She went out of her way to get us a taxi so we could go back to the ship on the Danube. This was one of our best tours.
