- cjschreiner0 contributionsComprehensive tour of BudapestThis tour will provide you a comprehensive tour of Budapest and is a great value. We got to see highlights of the Buda side and the Peat side. You will use public transportation when getting around town. In Buda you’ll use a bus and Pest you’ll use the original subway system. Would highly recommend this tour, just be aware that you will do a good amount of walking.Written September 6, 2024
- Paul B0 contributionsGreat guide and great tourNomi was very knowledgeable and personable. She explained everything in great detail, answered all our questions and was sensitive to the oppressive heat during our tour. She offered additional suggestions about other things to see, using the trams etc. She was a tremendous guide and we would recommend her highly! We were a group of 8 friends led on a very informative and interactive 3 hour walking tour by Orsi who was so nice to chat to during this tour. I would highly recommend Essential Walking Tours and in particular Orsi as your tour guide.Written May 7, 2024
- kaminip20170 contributionsAmazing walking tour in BudapestWe had a fantastic time with our guide today, her name was noemi bodiss and she was great. Her English was amazing and she knew all the best places to go and gave us so much information. We found she was so lovely and really looked after us. It was our first time in Budapest and we got to see so much, thank you so much. A fantastic tour with a wonderful tour guide, would definitely recommend 😃Written April 12, 2024

- Anita C0 contributionsExceptional and great value for moneyWe had a personal guide whose knowledge of Budapest was exceptional and we would never have been able to navigate the sites of Budapest without her. Knowing about accessibility on public transport to ensuring we could access key sights with my wheelchair where key to our tour and EVA couldn’t have done more. She also had encyclopaedic knowledge about the history of Budapest and the sights we visited We spent about 5 hours covering all the key sights and the tour was excellent value for moneyWritten December 12, 2023
- coreycTN0 contributionsGreat intro to BudapestWe were met right on time at the designated location, and our guide Alexandra was fantastic. Very friendly, personable, entertaining, we had a great time walking through Budapest with her.Written December 10, 2023
- JoHodg0 contributionsGood tour but sometimes a little hard to understandNoemi gave us a good tour of the main attractions in Budapest. She was kind enough to meet us in the lobby of our hotel to start the tour which was very convenient. She was very nice, knowledgeable and tried to answer our questions but at times she was a little hard to understand. Nevertheless we found the tour very worthwhile.Written September 20, 2023
- Ragnihotri0 contributionsVery good tour.We took the Small group, English tour of the Budapest Castle. My first trip to Budapest Castle. Our guide Monica was very well informed about the history of the Castle and made it very interesting with her little stories about the place. Best guide, great tour. Very essential to take a guided tour.Written July 25, 2023
- Fake D0 contributionsExcellent guideVery knowledgeable guide and very understanding that it took us ages to photograph every aspect of the sights. She knew the answers to all our questions and had personal perspectives as she grew up hereWritten February 5, 2023
- WiniDobbs0 contributionsGreat Orientation to BudapestVery good tour with a friendly, knowledgeable guide, Dahlia. Dahlia started our tour by asking what we might like to focus on -- history, architecture, arts -- then tailored her tour to include those things. It was very windy and cold when we toured (late December), so even warm rest stops were included! The tour was peppered with local lore as well as personal reflections and provided an excellent introduction to Buda and Pest!Written January 24, 2023
- SandySideUp0 contributionsHighly RecommendWe really enjoyed this walking tour because not only was it a private tour (to our surprise), but it hit all the highlights of Budapest. Our guide was Naomi and she was very thorough and knowledgeable about the places we visited. She was very kind and patient because we had our toddler in a stroller with us as well. Our kiddo managed to lose one of his mittens and she took the time to try and locate it for us. Overall, a must do!Written December 25, 2022
- I9393RPaprill0 contributionsA highly recommended walking tourWe very much enjoyed our interesting walking tour. Our guide was very well informed and so friendly. We loved traveling around the city like residents on trams and buses.Written December 6, 2022

An excellent all-day tour and a wonderful way to see all the most famous parts and sights in the city. My tour guide, Noemi, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about all the locations. She also knew where to refill my water bottle at public taps as well as the all-important restrooms. One nice part of the tour was when she took me into the Buda Hilton (which is built around a medieval cloister.) I would not have known that this was open to the public, and it was also a little break for air-conditioning and a nice restroom. This tour has lots of walking, so wear comfortable shoes. We did ride the streetcar up Andrassy utca to Heroes Square and also at the end from Gellert Hill back to the central part of Pest. Overall, this was a great way to spend the day, and I highly recommend it.

Our guide Dalia and driver Ronald were excellent. Dalia asked us for input on which sites we’d like to see, how much walking we were interested in doing and constantly checked to confirm what had interested us and how much time to take at each location. Her descriptions of key sites were clear, she answered questions well and provided the right level of detail when highlighting the history of points of interest. She also had many tips for us to consider for the following day when we were touring by ourselves.
It was a great way to see a good cross section of the city as well as orienting us for the rest of our stay.
(They also went out of their way the next day to drop off a lens I had left in the vehicle. ). Very warm and pleasant style to touring. Highly recommended.

It was our first day and rainy. Our guide and driver Marta was wonderful, incredibly knowledgeable and sweet. We were able to tour Parliament and explore both the Pest side as well as the Buda side of the city. I am beyond grateful we booked this tour for the two of us, private without a larger group.

Budapest is an absolute gorgeous city with so much history. We booked a full day, private city tour with Tourist Angel. Our guide was Dalia Csizmar and she did a fabulous job!
Dahlia took the time to sit with us prior to the tour to give us a brief overview of the sights and the day. More importantly, she took the time to get an understanding of our interests and reworked the entire day to accommodate them. Dalia’s was incredibly personable; her English was excellent and her in-depth knowledge of the sites was amazing. She set a high bar of expectations for how we approach any further tours.
This was a great tour with an amazing tour guide. We would highly recommend this tour.

Very pleasant guide. Unfortunately seemed not to have a route or script planned very well. We got waylaid and off track a few times BUT she took us to the House of Terror which was not on the agenda. Very interesting and personal experience from her. If you take the full day then be prepared to have it mixed up a bit - but if you have Suzanne (our guide) she will give extra information and make it personal.

An exceptional tour !
We had a superb time with our guide Alexandra. We did an all day tour with a car for the longer walking bits.
Alexandra was exceptionally knowledgeable on the history of Budapest. We spent ages talking about the key points in the country’s history, some of the key figures, as well as having guided tours of two major churches, and lots of beautiful scenery.
Alexandra spoke perfect English, was really friendly and helpful, and even adjusted parts of the tour for my wife’s benefit (as she has a bad knee and struggles with lots of stairs).
We could not recommend this tour more strongly. It was a great way to spend a day, and we learnt so much about Budapest and the history of Hungary.

Thank you to Alexandra who was our guide - so knowledgable about everything - we learned so much about the beautiful sights in Budapest but also about the country and culture. Would highly recommend this tour especially if you are here for a short time and want to cram a lot in. Thank you for a wonderful day.

This was a fantastic private tour. My guide (Akexandra) was extremely knowledgeable about everything I saw (and always had a helpful answer to my random questions). We managed to see a good set of Budapest highlights in one day, including many things I'd never have spotted without the expertise of my guide. It was a friendly and professional tour. I was really impressed.

Dalia was an amazing tour guide. She was super knowledgeable about the beautiful and tragic history of Budapest. Her driver was extremely polite and we felt very safe with him as a driver. We only had a day to see as much as possible in Budapest. Although that is a tall order. Dalia was pretty impressive to get us around the city.

Kati was a wonderful person. Very kind and highly knowledgeable about Budapest history. This is not one of those rushed tours where you are left feeling unsatisfied. Kati was more that patient and flexible with us. If you want a true thorough tour showing you all that Budapest has to offer, then I highly recommend Kati!!
