The one thing I wanted to do on my first visit to Budapest was to learn how to make strudel for my 91 year old Hungarian Dad. I was so happy to find Marti's class. And I was not disappointed! Marti is kind and patient in her teaching. Her hands on approach allows everyone to touch the ingredients as well as participate in the preparation. Learning the family history of strudel making helps bring it even more alive! It reminded me of the stories Dad told us of his mom while growing up. The instructions were easy to follow, the ingredients basic to find, and Marti's guidance made it easy to do. The strudel was amazing - both the aroma while baking and the taste when done. And by the time I got back to my apartment I had received an email with an assortment of recipes for different strudels to make at home. From start to finish the experience was wonderful! Marti is a beautiful host! From homemade soft drinks, an experienced and informative hands on tutorial, Hungarian wine and snacks, to enjoying the finished product, every moment is delicious and fun! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wanting to learn more about the Hungarian culture and it's foods! Definitely a bucket list moment in my life! Thank you Marti!

We had a wonderful experience! Marti impressed me with her meticulous attention to detail (including sanitation), and extensive knowledge. There were eight in our group; we all participated in food preparation and tasting along the way, and became very comfortable with telling each other our personal “stories”. I’ve participated in several cooking classes, and this was the best and most professional.

Amazing culinary experience with Marti of Flavors of Budapest! Delicious food and so much fun, with excellent follow up recipes. What a fabulous evening learning to cook wonderful Hungarian dishes (which we will definitely cook at home) with great people! Lots of laughs learning how to flip Hungarian pancakes. Highly recommend taking a class with Marti during your visit to the beautiful city of Budapest! It was definitely a highlight of a most wonderful trip.

Marti was a wonderful chef and teacher. We were in a class with 4 other people for a total of 7 in this class. Marti explained the dishes and their history that we were making and made sure everyone had the opportunity to participate. It was a memorable experience

Marti was a brilliant host. We had a great time cooking some local specialities under her guidance, and a great evening spent with the other guests. Would thoroughly recommend as away to spend an evening out, have great food and take away some fantastic recipes to cook at home.

Words can’t describe what this experience was like for me. Marti is an amazing person, chef and host. It brought back wonderful memories of growing up with Hungarian relatives.

I was reluctant to do this, but my wife taught me into it, and now I am, i'm glad I went. It was fun (thanks to chef Marti), educational and best of all tasty! The hands on part was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Everyone in our group pitched in and did something. I highly recommend this experience!

One of the most enjoyable things we've ever done in Budapest. We go to Budapest at least twice a year and always look for new things to do. We attended the strudel making class. Marti shared with us her grandmother's recipe and old-world style of making traditional strudel, along with interesting anecdotal stories of Hungarian family life past and present. It was a fabulous evening! Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience with Marti. I was part of a group of four couples that took the Hungarian Cooking Class with Marti. This experience was the surprising highlight after our Danube river cruise. Marti was fun and got all of us involved in the cooking experience. The four hours we were with her went by very quickly. We prepared dishes that I probably would never order off a menu. However, they were fantastic! Really enjoyable meal. Marti made special accommodations for the gluten-free friend in our group, which we really appreciated. Just hoping the videos and pictures of me flipping crepes never make their way to social media. The other cool part of the experience was hearing about Marti's life. How she learned all the recipes. What it is like to grow up and live in Hungary. Great food, fantastic Hungarian wine, very comfortable environment...A very special evening!

This was so fun, interesting and yummy!! The wine and appetizers were delicious, learned about the different Paprikas. Then got to learn about the background of strudel and all the different fillings you can use, not just the ones we made. The best part was just talking with our hostess/teacher. She is lovely, informative and so welcoming. And BTW - the strudel came out GREAT. Just don't do it the last night of your trip so you can have leftovers!! Thoroughly enjoyed.

One of our absolute highlights of our trip to Budapest! Marti was marvelous before we even booked. She answered all our questions regarding menu selections and we found a menu that all four of us were excited to try. She spoiled us, made us laugh and we were stuffed to the gills when we were done. Highly recommend spending an early evening with Marti. She shared pictures with us that she took of all of us throughout our cooking experience. She is very patient & kind and so much fun! Thank you to Marti - we met a new friend & excellent chef!

We didn’t really know what Langos was when we chose this class. The class turned out to be a fun, hands on, culturally educational experience. We had a wonderful time learning how to make delicious Langos and spending time with Marti!

Simply fantastic! This cooking class was a major highlight of our vacation in Budapest. All the dishes we made (the goulash, paprikash hortobagy, and gerbeaud cake menu) were completely delicious and authentic. Marti is a great instructor as well as a great chef! (plus, she was so nice and friendly) The class size is pretty small so everyone got to truly participate the whole time, and we felt like we understood the unique techniques needed for each dish. We would absolutely return for another class! The entire experience was great — would highly recommend any of the menus or classes Marti offers!

What a great evening. The venue for the class was lovely, the food fantastic, the chef (Marta) delightful! We learned a lot, enjoyed lovely company, had great souvenir photos taken by Marta… don’t miss this opportunity!!

This was the best experience of our trip! WE LOVE IT. Marti welcomed us into her kitchen as if we were entering her home as her own family! She was a wealth of information about the area, her culture and of course cooking! She was so accomodating, warm and personable! I just can't recommend this experience enough! If you are in Budapest this is a must do!
