I was in Budapest with a dear friend for a very brief stay. I needed to see the beautiful and extremely historical city in only 2 days!!!! My friend booked us a half-day tour with Gabriella of Splendid Budapest Tours. First of all, Gabriella is a lovely, well-informed, generous spirited young woman. She tailored the tour to help us have an overview of the best sights, while she narrated centuries of history and charming national tales. We walked this tour, which is easy enough for most and yet in my opinion, the only way to really see the city. We ended in a lovely pastry/coffee shop and became fast friends that morning. I highly recommend Gabriella and her company, Splendid Tours, if you are in Budapest. Even if you generally don't enjoy or take tours, this is a must! This is the best way to become aquatinted with this beautiful riverside European treasure.

I booked the tour through viator at that time and for weird unknown reasons they didn’t communicate it to Gabriella. I was waiting st the station, upset and exhausted from an overnight train. But Gabriella was such an incredible person. After a quick phone call (I woke her up!), she came to get me at the station. She even apologised when that’s not her fault at all. She gave me a very good introduction to Budapest, telling me the interesting history, the time during communism. What I really liked is how she catered the tour to my taste. She knew that I love coffee and recommended me a lot of quirky cafes which I wouldn’t know it on my own. Knowing my love for design, she also recommended me nicely decorated places to visit. I highly recommend her! She would give you a great introduction and orientation to the city!
