Good value in heat of Summer
This was very good value. Especially in the extreme hot weather. We usually would have done a waking tour. But it was too hot ( 33c). Andrea did a great job. The small bus was air conditioned and we got to see the main sights in the city with a live guide who spoke English. Thank you for a great 3 hours.

Private Trabant tour - just brilliant!
Booked private 3 hr Trabant tour via river cruise company (linked to Cityrama). Communication prior to day was excellent and directions to meet at office perfect. Receptionist at office was lovely and most welcoming. Very personal tour, just the right amount of history explained and husband’s drive of the car was memorable! Tour guide was a very lovely man - nothing felt rushed and his navigation through the city streets was brilliant fun. Would we recommend ? Absolutely.

    Great Tour!
Excellent! Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting and answered all questions asked of him on the tour. It was a large group which can sometimes be challenging but he handled it like a pro. I would highly recommend this tour. The Parliament tour was great and well worth the price. He also takes great photos!

Lovely way to spend a day and learn.
This tour was a great way to get an overview of Budapest as a city of two halves. I personally loved the Budai side the most. Our bus was good and the driver and tour guide had excellent knowledge and I got a good history lesson on Hungary turbulence over its time. The information given when asked questions was great. The boat trip at the end of the bus tour was lovely and relaxing. I enjoy the tour.

Check to see you are getting what you pay for!
Sadly this tour was a complete waste of money. We ended up on a bilingual tour with Spanish and English. Unfortunately for the 4 English customers we missed most of the commentary from our guide because she spoke mostly in Spanish and when she did speak in English the other customers were laughing and talking so you couldn’t hear what was being said or going on. Most tours I have been on I have learnt a lot about the history of the area we visited but this one I learnt nothing and felt very disconnected. The bus was supposed to have air conditioning in it and it didn’t seem to work at the back of the van. My seat belt didn’t work either. The information I have from when I purchased the tickets said it would have a boat ride back. This didn’t happen and no explanation why not. The worst thing was there were some jokes happening in Spanish that we had no idea what they were laughing at. So all in all I was really disappointed and would recommend before you purchase see if it is a bilingual tour or not.

    Loved this tour
We loved this tour. The guide was excellent and the info was all so interesting. We had plenty time at all the stops to get photos and see the sights, all of which are stunning. Would highly recommend

    Nice place, not good tour.
The palace was lovely, if you have extra time in Budapest. However the guide was doing a dual language tour and she spent a lot of time speaking Spanish and next to nothing in English. We eventually asked if we could just go ahead and meet her somewhere. She laughed and said this is how it usually goes, one group always gives up and goes on. Nice to know.

Worth the money! The guides were very lovely, informative and polite. The sights were beautiful, and the information received was useful to understand Hungary’s history and culture.

    Kudos for Basil!
We honestly chose the tour due to the Parliament's ticket being sold out during our visit, but we ended up in a very pleasant experience, especially thanks to our guide. "Basil" was amazingly passionate, engaging, funny, interesting and a perfect guide for the 3-hour tour. Definitely recommended!

Reconsider the tour company not the palace
Dual language tour in which one language got lengthy explanations and the other stood around waiting for their 30 seconds. Half way thru we asked where to meet them later and the guide said “this always happens, one group always gives up”. Palace was nice.

Overall good experience; Better to visit in non-winter seasons
The tour had both English and Spanish interpretations concurrently. Can be slightly confusing especially when you have a bigger tour group who needed to wait for the guide to finish, but the guide did such an amazing job!! The stories are great, but the views could have been better due to a gloomy/foggy day (not the agency's fault). Lunch service at the recommended hotel could be better managed, as we had to wait quite a while for the food which lessened our time to explore the place. Otherwise, the overall experience is good.

Our driver said Sunday is a bad day to go because a lot of tourist and wouldn’t give us a guided tour so we walked around on our own. The tour was suppose to buy ‘Langos’ for us to try but he said the line was too long so we stood in line (5 minutes is all!!) and bought our own. We we’re so disappointed because so looked forward to seeing the artists village with a guide.

Szentendre is a gem of a village, and we were excited to go. Perhaps it was a hot day, and perhaps we had had such fabulous guides previously, but we were underwhelmed with our guide and therefore with the afternoon. She sounded German (to me) and said everything in Spanish then again in English to cater to the small group making for an extremely prolonged afternoon, the microphone on the van had reverb making it difficult to listen, and we ate hot fried dough as part of the trip yet were not shown water at the well until afterward. There was no warmth to the small group excursion. The marzipan museum was not included. There was nowhere to use the restroom without paying while we could have used it at the Cityrama office before setting off. yet had not been alerted to that fact. I highly recommend visiting Szentendre though perhaps not through Cityrama. The boat ride home was fun.

A lovely place to visit - 2 hours is not enough to experience it properly - it's like a taster visit. We received exactly what the trip description stated so we have no complaints there. The Langos were excellent. We were well looked after by our guide, Barbra. The boat trip back was very relaxing.

It was a lovely trip by mini bus to Szentendre with good commentary. I was sitting too far from the driver to hear most of the commentary. There wasn’t a lot of commentary on the walk through Szentendre. The langos was very yummy. The boat ride back was very peaceful and pretty

We took a taxi, but can also arrive by boat or public transport. About 30 min drive. Note, once there a bit more difficult to get taxi back.
Very quaint village with lots of small shops and galleries, restaurants and cafes. Overall nice visit for half day.

While all of my trip around Budapest was solo exploration, I chose Cityrama for a guided tour of Szentendre. The whole trip was extremely well-planned, right from the van pick-up to the little elements such as tasting Langos. The tour guide was well-informed and had many insights to share. What could have otherwise been an idyllic and casual stroll through souvenir shops, became a nice glimpse into the quaint town's history. The return was via a cruise along the Danube, which was a great way to end the visit. Absolutely enjoyed the trip! The staff at the main agency is friendly and helpful too (also responsive on emails). Highly recommend Cityrama.

I'm glad we decided to visit as it was a lovely day. However it's a tram and train ride from the city and we got caught out on the train 'leaving the city limits' and didn't have the right ticket. A kind English speaking passenger helped us out. Thanks! Really pretty place with local dancers but we were very disappointed with the lack of quality artisnal shops. Definitely worth returning to the city by boat.

We took the train from Budapest (don’t forget to validate your ticket) and had a wonderful time in this picturesque little town. Loved the Christmas museum and all the gift shops. Bought some fabulous earrings. Really recommend this as a day trio

This was a pleasant afternoon except the van pick up was well over 30 minutes late and slow traffic getting out of town. Would have liked to have had that extra 30 minutes or more to visit town. As it turned out we only had a little more than an hour to visit. The marzipan museum was incredible.

This is a very different tour. Only the two of us and a very nice American couple on the tour along with the driver and our tour guide, Maria. Took about 35 minutes to travel from the centre of Budapest to the village in our people carrier.
The village is very pretty and full of interesting little shops including a fabulous leather goods shop. Also some great coffee shops with tables inside and out.
Maria gave us a very informative commentary both whilst we were travelling and also walked us around the village when we arrived.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to see a different side of Hungary.
