Our bus trip included two other locations: Strigonio and Visegrad. Our guide, Attila, gave us some really interesting and detailed information...his enthusiasm was contagious! The trip.took place on St. Stephen's Day, the first king of Hungary, so it was extra special!

While all of my trip around Budapest was solo exploration, I chose Cityrama for a guided tour of Szentendre. The whole trip was extremely well-planned, right from the van pick-up to the little elements such as tasting Langos. The tour guide was well-informed and had many insights to share. What could have otherwise been an idyllic and casual stroll through souvenir shops, became a nice glimpse into the quaint town's history. The return was via a cruise along the Danube, which was a great way to end the visit. Absolutely enjoyed the trip! The staff at the main agency is friendly and helpful too (also responsive on emails). Highly recommend Cityrama.

We took the train from Budapest (don’t forget to validate your ticket) and had a wonderful time in this picturesque little town. Loved the Christmas museum and all the gift shops. Bought some fabulous earrings. Really recommend this as a day trio

I'm glad we decided to visit as it was a lovely day. However it's a tram and train ride from the city and we got caught out on the train 'leaving the city limits' and didn't have the right ticket. A kind English speaking passenger helped us out. Thanks! Really pretty place with local dancers but we were very disappointed with the lack of quality artisnal shops. Definitely worth returning to the city by boat.

This was a pleasant afternoon except the van pick up was well over 30 minutes late and slow traffic getting out of town. Would have liked to have had that extra 30 minutes or more to visit town. As it turned out we only had a little more than an hour to visit. The marzipan museum was incredible.

This is a very different tour. Only the two of us and a very nice American couple on the tour along with the driver and our tour guide, Maria. Took about 35 minutes to travel from the centre of Budapest to the village in our people carrier.
The village is very pretty and full of interesting little shops including a fabulous leather goods shop. Also some great coffee shops with tables inside and out.
Maria gave us a very informative commentary both whilst we were travelling and also walked us around the village when we arrived.
We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who would like to see a different side of Hungary.

Lovely looking cobbled streets with lots of souvenir shops selling Hungarian traditional things. This place is perfect if you want to escape busy city such as Budapest. I would recommend spending afternoon here.
There are plenty of restaurants and home made, organic ice cream shops. Walk down the Danube promenade is lovely at the sunset.

What an all around great tour!

We were picked up by Taxi from our hotel and taken to the Cityrama office for the start of our tour. There were only 5 of us on the tour, which was really nice. Our tour guide was Agnes. She was Great!

As we drove in the van towards Szentendre, Agnes shared all kinds of information about Hungary, history of the area and about the places we were driving by. Once we arrived in Szentendre, she gave us a tour of the small town. She showed us some old churches, how the blue and white fabrics have been made for centuries, showed us a shop that sold hats made out of mushrooms, had us stop in a Marzipan shop to try a taste of Marzipan and shared a Hungarian treat called Langos (fried Hungarian flat bread) with us.

After the tour, we had a little over an hour to do some shopping in the city. Afterwards, we met Agnes at the boat for the 1 hour ride back to Budapest.

What a great day! Thank you Agnes! Szentendre is a small town full of wonderful handmade in Budapest items. Great for purchasing souvenirs for yourself or others.

My husband and I enjoyed our small group afternoon tour of Szentendre with our cheerful, knowledgeable guide, Mike. The van pick up at our hotel was on time as was the departure to the village from the Cityrama office . Along the way Mike imparted interesting information about the history of the area. We found the large apartment complexes built during Soviet times especially telling and sobering. The village itself was relaxing yet more touristy than we had expected. That being said, we bought some small souvenirs and Hungarian paprika. Mike was helpful in directing us to good shops for this. We also saw an interesting Baroque church.
The boat ride in perfect weather back to Budapest was delightful. Mike was also generous in helping our group find the metro and in buying tickets. We were impressed with his expertise and professionalism.
