- 543yvettes0 contributionsOne trip to remember! We all had an amazing time. Beautiful scenery, amazing food and great live music. 10 out of 10 event! Not to be missed. Thank you Legenda City Cruises.Written December 11, 2024
- AJBrookes0 contributionsCandlelit dinner cruiseWe thoroughly enjoyed the candlelit dinner cruise. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The 4 course dinner was really good and a la carte so we had plenty of choices. The live musicians were also good. The cruise lasted 150 minutes and we saw a lot of the Riverside building lit up and looking festive.Written December 10, 2024
- janinehD8652PY0 contributionsRomantic candlelit dinner!Good value for money! Good standard of food, waitresses were very professional and smart. Drinks were very reasonable too! Thoroughly enjoyed our time on the cruise.Written December 9, 2024
- Ramóna K0 contributionsFab dinnerThe food was exceptional and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The band was good too but would be great if they could play more Christmas songs to match with the city vibe in December. We got lucky with the weather as it was dry and the view was clear. I would do that again and all my guests were amaized. Highly recommended!Written December 9, 2024
- austhwaite0 contributionsCandlelight Danube tripThe river boat trip was nice but we were disappointed with the entertainment. We could hardly hear the musicians who were playing guitar and singing (I think!) The food was nice and the scenery was lovely although we did the same stretch of river 4 timesWritten December 8, 2024
- laurasD5020WE0 contributionsBest night of our trip!Very enjoyable evening. Very easy to check-in, no queue despite walking past huge queues for other boats leaving. Friendly, efficient service. All four courses were delicious. Live singers were very good. Read some reviews that it was cold on board bit it was actually very warm and cosy. Great views of all the lit up riverside architecture. Overall great value for money. Would highly recommend.Written December 2, 2024

- Darryl C0 contributionsPotential for romantic eveningGood choice for each course, starters ok but mains excellent, the duck and pork delicious and melt in mouth. Great views of Budapest at night in relaxing atmosphere, unless you have a party of 8 loud chavs sat behind you which completely ruins the ambience! Most of boat were couples apart from the party sat behind us and the boat is amazingly stable and glides back and forth along the Danube keeping within main sights.Written November 28, 2024
- B2214KEsuep0 contributionsAmazing dinner cruiseJust did the dinner cruise and was a great way to finish our stay in Budapest. The food was fabulous and had a bottle of wine for a very reasonable price. Watching the city lit up at night was amazing. Best part of our stay. Do book early as we got a table by the windows as booked a couple of months in advance.Written November 28, 2024
- uhsigmanu0 contributionsBest views of the city at nightThere’s nothing better than seeing the city illuminate from a dinner cruise. This evening experience really offers the best views of all the majestic buildings of the city. You are offered a multiple course meal and are served a complementary drink when you arrive. That drink is either beer, wine, or champagne. Note water is not included in the service, but you can purchase it. They offer both sparklingand still water. You also have an opportunity to purchase cocktails from a very vast selection, including an entire bottle of wine. You can stand on the deck and take some of the most majestic unobstructed views of the major monuments in the city. The staff is very professional and the services is excellent.Written November 27, 2024

After reading reviews online decided on this company even though it was a long walk from the parliament building, right at the opposite end of the Danube, that will teach me to check before! We went to reserve tickets for later in the evening as I’d read that the evening cruises can be very popular. We came back about 30 minutes before our cruise time hoping we could sit somewhere as we were getting tired and the temperature was dropping a bit. Unfortunately, all of the seating in the waiting area was already taken so we had to wait around outside until the boat was ready to board. The boarding process was very easy, just scanning of tickets and straight onto the boat. You can sit wherever you like and each place has a set of headphones and a controller for your chosen language. There are small tv screens displaying images that accompany the audio guide too. There was a general introduction given by the staff in loads of languages, we were totally amazed by one girl who seemed to switch from one language to another with ease and knew about 10+ languages! As this was an evening cruise once the boat got moving staff came round asking what drink you would like as it was included. We found the audio commentary was really informative without going into too much detail, the buildings were lit up amazingly well and the whole experience was generally fantastic. For us, it was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Budapest!

I highly recommend going at the end of or after sunset, the city is all lit up at night and the views were beautiful. Excellent champagne offered as the free drink and the audio guide gave interesting historical details, though many of them didn’t work. You can see the landmarks from anywhere on the boat, though I would recommend arriving a bit early to get a seat beside the window/railing if you want no one in between you and the view. Great value for money

A visit to Budapest would not be complete without a cruise along the river. There were many operators, but we found Legenda (Dock 7) to have what appeared to be the biggest operation with an indoor dock that others did not seem to have. We took the first evening cruise, 4:30pm, in late November. The roughly one-hour cruise was amazing with the city lit up beautifully.
The boat had 2 decks with headphones at each seat for an audio guide available in many languages. As it was cold out, the windows were closed, and most people stayed inside. There was a small outdoor section at the rear of the boat that only a handful of us were brave enough to sit in. To take great pictures, you will need to be outdoors to avoid reflection from the windows.
Despite being “off-season” in November, our boat was quite full and other times were sold out by the evening. You can buy tickets online or buy them at the dock for later times to ensure you have a spot. Most of the cruises were for the evening while there were only a handful during the day.

Disappointing Experience with Wingbuddy and CroisiEurope’s "Jewels of the Danube" River Cruise (Sept 25 - Oct 4, 2024)
Unfortunately, this was one of the worst cruises we have ever taken. I strongly recommend thoroughly reading reviews before booking any trip with Wingbuddy, a travel agency based in Montreal, Canada. While their official website shows only 4-5 star ratings, our experience was far from that.
We booked our trip well in advance in February 2024, which included flights, transportation, and hotel stays before and after the cruise. We paid 50% upfront. The day after booking, Wingbuddy sent our Air Canada flight tickets—without baggage included. This meant that each checked bag would cost us $85 per person for both the outbound and return flights. When I asked to cancel the package and receive a refund, I was informed it was impossible because the tickets had already been issued, despite Air Canada allowing refunds up to 24 hours before the flight. Their trip description says not including any baggage for a transatlantic flight ?!
There was no intention to fight.
A few weeks before the trip, Eastern Europe experienced flooding. Wingbuddy sent us the embarkation voucher and hotel/transportation information, but there was no mention of any disruptions. Only two hours before leaving for the airport in Toronto did we receive an "urgent" email informing us that the itinerary had changed. Instead of embarking in Vienna as planned, we would have to take a bus to Budapest, with the ship being replaced the following day. This meant we spent the second day of our trip on a four-hour bus ride to a hotel in Budapest, and then another bus trip the next day to a Hungarian village, only boarding the ship late in the evening. Two days of our cruise were lost.
We were fortunate the cruise happened at all—previous groups on the same itinerary had spent 9 days traveling by bus with just one day on the ship. Wingbuddy clearly knew about the situation well in advance and failed to notify customers, depriving us of the opportunity to cancel or reschedule. Their lack of transparency and communication is deeply concerning.
As for CroisiEurope, the cruise company, we were equally disappointed. Overall very poor customer service. Very non-caring, rigid. Food overall was unhealthy , especially the breakfast. The ship itself was in bad condition, with dirty carpets throughout and outdated furniture. I cannot recommend CroisiEurope; you're better off spending a little more for a higher-quality cruise experience.
The only positive aspect of the trip was the transportation, as the drivers were punctual and provided good service.
In conclusion, Wingbuddy's lack of transparency and communication, combined with CroisiEurope's non-quality service, made for a highly disappointing trip. Their primary focus seems to be on securing payments, with little regard for customer satisfaction or the quality of the experience. I would advise potential travelers to be cautious and consider other options.

Well..at first we arrived and thought wow..what a great experience.
We took the 2.5 ours cruise with romantic dinner that cost us 65 euros! (With only one welcome drink..got to pay if you want more drinks)
The sights we saw a long the cruise were pretty poor since the boat goes back and forth all the time just to let you “enjoy” the terrible food in the meantime! The only beautiful sight we came across is the parliament building which looks beautiful at night but that you can watch also from land.
First dish was very small! The soup was cold and tasted terrible! The main dish was poor as well. The desert was the only nice thing to eat there.
Not worth the money nor the food!
We finished the cruise and went to eat in a restaurant.
Felt like a tourist trap that we fall into.

We travelled with Viking on a Danube River cruise which should have begun from Budapest and finished at Regensburg. When we arrived at Budapest airport we needed to wait for over an hour for other passengers to arrive and then we were told that we would not be docking in Budapest but would need to travel by bus to a mooring at Komarom, more than 85 kilometres from Budapest. The next day we travelled back to visit Budapest for what was a short visit and that was it. The boat left Komarom the day after and we never got to see the beautiful views of Budapest from the river. We only had one full daytime cruising but generally we were moving along the river at night. The moorings were often doubled up with our balcony being against another boat making our balcony unusable at these times unless you're okay with looking into someone's bedroom. When we made our final stop, some distance from Regensburg, we had another long bus journey to visit the city. That night we moved further back down the river and then had to depart at 3 a.m. to get out flight from Munich. We paid over £9k for the cruise which seems a lot for what was a series of glorified bus journeys. We also booked on the basis of no gratuities needed, yet Viking still took £30 to cover. To top it all off we had contracted COVID the day after we returned (no testing was done when arriving for your holiday). Having said all this the accommodation, service and food were all very good otherwise perhaps two stars would have been adequate.

I had originally booked the fireworks cruise that was unfortunately cancelled by the government due to a storm warning, Legenda promptly got in contact to explain this and offer full refund or change to an evening cruise, I went on the evening cruise and was very happy with the cruise, I would definitely recommend the evening cruise it was lovely to see the city lit up at night especially the parliament building.
The whole experience was excellent and very well organised and professional.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, sandwiches before boarding were a nice touch and a drink onboard.
I really enjoyed the audio guide it was very informative and interesting and the cruise was great with wonderful views.
I would highly recommend Legenda cruise.

For the most part, the sunset river cruise with Legenda was good. The cruise itself was perfectly fine, with an audio guide and interesting commentary about the city, the architecture, etc., complimentary drinks (beer, wine, and juice), and pleasant onboard staff.
I suppose the only irritating aspect wasn't really about Legenda itself but rather the other sightseers. I know by now that people are rude and inconsiderate everywhere in the world, in all situations, and I really shouldn't continue to be surprised by this. But people, if we're passing by, say, the Parliament Building, and you didn't arrive onboard early enough to get a "good" seat, it's quite rude to stand in front of those people seated in the good seats (I'm talking the outside seats) to take photos--and stay there basically the whole time the ferry passes by the building. Anyway, not on Legenda, but maybe they can have a "stay in your own darn seat" policy :)

The timing of the cruise at 8.00pm in July was perfect. The cooler evening temperature , the breeze and the golden hour of light made this an excellent experience. A drink was offered promptly as we left the dock. The sound quality in the headphones was not always 100% but I would recommend that they are used. A lovely evening and value for money.

It was an interesting cruise, quite simple and not that great for photos as the windows were not as clean as it would've been necessary. You sit only inside the cabin so you can't get outside to take better photos. The boat was old and a bit filthy, also the location, deck 7, was the furthest from the center than any other cruise on the Danube. The staff were very polite and nice. The headphones were horrible, they were old and some of them not functional (mine for example was only in arabic, couldn't change the language).
But for a spin and a nice view to soak it in it's perfect!

Unfortunately, we coudln't make it on time. Can we use the same ticket at different time, or we have to re-buy them?

I think you have to use it within 24hrs of activating/using your ‘all round ticket’.
Maybe check with a hotel reception or a member of staff. Sorry I can’t help more.
