Kata is such a talented tour guide! What an experience to explore Budapest with her on our second day . She was full of energy and truly excited to show us everything she could and to explain what it all meant. Her knowledge of the city and the country’s history was broad and deep. It is hard to believe how much we crammed into just one day. Kata was so easy to listen to. We had questions not only about what we were seeing in Budapest, but how people were living and what life was really like. She had fantastic insights into life in Budapest. She knew every herb that was growing wild, as well as the intricacies of Budapest’s architecture. We hope that when we return to Budapest, she will be available to show us even more. We will never forget her smile. A+ for Kata.

We had the pleasure of touring Budapest Day One with Endre this past summer. Budapest was absolutely amazing… but it was Endre (and Kata – see her review) who truly brought it to life for us. His knowledge of the city and its history – indeed, the history of Hungary and Europe in general – was superb. It was as if we were getting private university level tutoring. More than just Endre’s deep knowledge about everything, was his passion as a tour guide. His most important goal was for us to have fun. And fun we had. Budapest was one adventure after another. As we delved into it, we realized that there were certain areas we wanted to spend more time on at the expense of others. Endre had no problem rerouting our tour as we went. He was very flexible and really went with the flow. In short, Endre was warm, outgoing, hilarious, easy to talk to and listen to, energetic, knowledgeable, and just a great human being. We were VERY lucky to have secured him for our first visit to Budapest. We recommend him as highly as we can. A+ for Endre…

I booked back to back tours - this one and Communist Budapest - with Kata as my guide. What a fabulous guide Kata is. She basically spoke for about seven hours straight - Kata was engaging, all of it was interesting, she never seemed to tire and I think I would have happily kept listening to her for the remainder of my time in Budapest. Very impressed.

Áron Mozes is my go-to Budapest tour guide because of his knack for engaging my overseas visitors and also myself, a resident ex-pat, in the ongoing transformation of his fascinating country from ancient times to the present. This tour of the Buda Castle district focused on the historically important defensive role of this hill on the Buda side of the Danube and revealed the backstories of the most prominent features and of hidden corners as well. This was a very authentic, interactive experience—highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our tour with our guide, Kata! She was so knowledgeable about the architecture and history in Budapest. We really liked this tour because we got off of the beaten path and found some incredible architecture hidden in buildings we never would have seen on our own. Worth every penny!

This was one of the best tours we have ever taken. Kata has a wealth of historical information and delivers it in the most compelling way. You can tell she loves what she does and loves Budapest. She was super engaging and conscientious about making sure that the pacing was comfortable and that we had sufficient time to take photographs. There was so much to cover that she was super generous with her time and ran an hour long and she was so fascinating that the time flew by.

Kata gave us a wonderful tour of the city. From the worker bees and the bee hives to the carnations, roses, forget-me-nots and tulips she had a fabulous depth of knowledge about the history of the city, the architects, designers and all the wonderful buildings we saw. We loved Budacastle and surrounding palaces and churches. He had great insights and knew secret places to go to the learn more about every place we visited.,He even altered our tour to combine it with the Jewish history of Budapest and took us to Dohany Street Synagogue and surrounding area. We spent two weeks touring the Christmas Markets along the Danube. The most memorable days, by far, were the two days we spent with Kata in Budapest. These days felt like exploring the city with a close friend. We saw fabulous places we would never have discovered on our own and enjoyed an abundance of really great food. Katas’ knowledge of Budapest and it’s history and culture were extremely impressive. We all felt we now have a much deeper appreciation for these people and their country. This was, by far, the best tour we have ever taken. When we are able to visit other cities where they offer tours we will certainly sign up with Insight City Tours.

Kata provided a warm welcome, as she shared a brief overview of the tour and we were off! We so appreciated her historic knowledge of Budapest and her deep understanding of the communities, past and present. She also shared so much about the architecture of the buildings on both sides of the Danube, which added a great deal of historic interest as well. One of our favorite parts of the tour was her focus to help us recognize the impact of history of Budapest on Europe as a whole. Andras, our excellent, thoughtful and well informed guide led us on two 3-hour tours over two days drilling down into the historical significance and history buried in the old city of Budapest first then the second day focusing more upon the Jewish history, synagogues, and the relationships between the Jews and the Hungarian state. Andras easily captured our attention and imagination as we walked and enjoyed learning from his articulate and committed command of both local and historical references.
