About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Stephen L0 contributionsMore than a tourZsuzsa was so bright and knowledgeable. We talked about history, art, architecture, language and politics. Our trip to Budapest would not have been the same without this very special 3 hours we spent together. We saw layers of history and atmosphere that were hidden in plain site. It was so much more than just a tour of buildings. We can't recommend this experience highly enough.Written June 4, 2024
- lindamD4241JM0 contributionsI don't recommend this particular tour.Super disappointed with this tour. Really didn't learn much at all, and didn't seem like our tour guide, Valeria was very passionate for what she was doing. She would point to things and more/less say you can go visit these places later. We could hardly hear what she was saying and that's standing close to her. She used a little speaker thing that hung around her neck, but again really couldn't hear. Seems like she also always stopped at places that were noisy to talk (ie, a band playing loudly in the background, church bells going off. Would have been better if she stood elsewhere to deliver what ever she had to say). I felt it was a total waste of our time, and I have been on free walking tours before that have been wonderful. PS. the 2nd sentence out of her mouth when we met her is how we should tip, that was a turn off to address right out of the shoot.Written June 3, 2024
- mjad4960 contributionsFantastic start to our Budapest tripMy husband and I did this tour with Andras, and it was absolutely incredible. Andras is so knowledgeable about Hungary's history with communism, and told us about his own first-hand experiences living under that regime. He was super personable and he added a ton of color to the city. This was our first booked event in Budapest and we were so lucky to get such an amazing view and history of the city from this remarkable guide, I highly recommend it!Written May 31, 2024

- Wander6864170 contributionsFantastic Tour, Wonderful GuideMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The main focus was the city's surprisingly rich and deep coffee house culture. We visited a whole slew of old and often restored cafes and even ate pastries at one of them. But our guide - Orsi- was so knowledgeable that I feel like we got multiple tours in one. A Budapest native, she wove in information about the city's Jewish history (she had an advanced degree in the subject), architecture, restoration efforts, Hungarian wine and her own family's experiences before and after communism. We got a big kick out of her funny and often irreverent anecdotes and urban legends. Wonderful person and so easy to hear and understand. Highly recommend!Written April 27, 2024
- sooner19770 contributionsGreat walking tour of BudaWe had a great experience on our walking tour of Buda with Kata. She was full of historical information and blended what we were seeing on our walk with the history of the area. Additionally we visited many sites (e.g. art exhibit, hidden memorials) which we never would have found on our own. Highly recommend.Written April 22, 2024

- knoxmom9000 contributionsPride, Culture, and Jewish HistoryKata was an utterly amazing and very informative tour guide. She gave us important insights into Hungarian and Jewish history while also being very personable and recommending some great cafes and restaurants. Would go with her again in a heartbeat!!!Written December 20, 2023
- Freedom595047226180 contributionsGood, excellent, friendly, lovely enthusiastic, historical, knowledge, lovely, Jewish, friendly, worthy, we liked it a lKata is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Jewish and Hungarian history. We asked her a lot of questions and she was very kind to answer all of that. At the date we booked the tour, one of the Jewish church was not open, so she took us to a lovely museum to see Jewish life from 1500 to 1900, it was very interesting. We liked her so much so that we asked her to take her to the Buda castle on the next day.Written December 14, 2023
- Z3854PPjosephg0 contributionsBudapest with Kata!!!Kata is such a talented tour guide! What an experience to explore Budapest with her on our second day . She was full of energy and truly excited to show us everything she could and to explain what it all meant. Her knowledge of the city and the country’s history was broad and deep. It is hard to believe how much we crammed into just one day. Kata was so easy to listen to. We had questions not only about what we were seeing in Budapest, but how people were living and what life was really like. She had fantastic insights into life in Budapest. She knew every herb that was growing wild, as well as the intricacies of Budapest’s architecture. We hope that when we return to Budapest, she will be available to show us even more. We will never forget her smile. A+ for Kata.Written September 19, 2023
- Z3854PPjosephg0 contributionsAmazing Budapest experience with Endre!!!We had the pleasure of touring Budapest Day One with Endre this past summer. Budapest was absolutely amazing… but it was Endre (and Kata – see her review) who truly brought it to life for us. His knowledge of the city and its history – indeed, the history of Hungary and Europe in general – was superb. It was as if we were getting private university level tutoring. More than just Endre’s deep knowledge about everything, was his passion as a tour guide. His most important goal was for us to have fun. And fun we had. Budapest was one adventure after another. As we delved into it, we realized that there were certain areas we wanted to spend more time on at the expense of others. Endre had no problem rerouting our tour as we went. He was very flexible and really went with the flow. In short, Endre was warm, outgoing, hilarious, easy to talk to and listen to, energetic, knowledgeable, and just a great human being. We were VERY lucky to have secured him for our first visit to Budapest. We recommend him as highly as we can. A+ for Endre…Written September 19, 2023
- lawrencebU3243AX0 contributionsDon't miss this tourThis was the best tour we had during our trip. Our tour guide, Balint Tamas was exceptionally knowledgeable and entertaining. So much of the experience in Budapest revolved around understanding the turbulent recent history and Balint laid out the story in a clear and understandable way. He brought books with illustrations showing the historical events that took place at the sites he took us to. He was well prepared, an expert in the history and made the tour fun. Can't recommend this highly enough.Written September 10, 2023
- 471maggieo0 contributionsFascinating toursI booked back to back tours - this one and Communist Budapest - with Kata as my guide. What a fabulous guide Kata is. She basically spoke for about seven hours straight - Kata was engaging, all of it was interesting, she never seemed to tire and I think I would have happily kept listening to her for the remainder of my time in Budapest. Very impressed.Written August 20, 2023
- KeithT_in_Budapest0 contributionsEye-opening tour of Buda Castle district in BudapestÁron Mozes is my go-to Budapest tour guide because of his knack for engaging my overseas visitors and also myself, a resident ex-pat, in the ongoing transformation of his fascinating country from ancient times to the present. This tour of the Buda Castle district focused on the historically important defensive role of this hill on the Buda side of the Danube and revealed the backstories of the most prominent features and of hidden corners as well. This was a very authentic, interactive experience—highly recommended!Written June 18, 2023
- F7040TMsarahs0 contributionsEngaging tour of hidden gems in BudapestWe really enjoyed our tour with our guide, Kata! She was so knowledgeable about the architecture and history in Budapest. We really liked this tour because we got off of the beaten path and found some incredible architecture hidden in buildings we never would have seen on our own. Worth every penny!Written May 12, 2023
