    Do this tour!
We did the Ruin Pubs, Street Art and Cool Spots tour, and highly recommend it. Atilla was a wonderful, personable and knowledgeable guide, and this was a unique was to see and learn about the old Jewish Quarter of Budapest. He showed and explained a wide variety of street art, from large "official" murals to unsanctioned graffiti. Learning about the meaning and context of the art, and about the artists themselves, gave us better insight into the history and culture of the neighborhood and of Budapest. We also liked having a chance to enjoy a drink at a ruin pub and talk with Atilla and other guests on the tour. And Atilla made personal recommendations of additional restaurants and bars to visit, as well as the shops of local designers and artists.

    Do not miss this tour.
Hands down the most enjoyable and truly informative experience I’ve had in Budapest. No boring facts you could read in a book. Instead a delightful journey through history to present time through the eyes of various street artists. If you take one tour while in Budapest, make this it. It’s also a very intimate tour with no more than eight, so you really have a chance to ask questions and get to know the city.

Authentic Highlight of My Budapest Experience - Street Art Tour
This Street Art Tour with Attila from Budapest Flow was awesome! I learned so much. Attila has lived in the area (former Jewish ghetto) since before it started being revitalized/gentrified and grew up under communism. He was able to explain some of the nuances and history of pieces that I just would never have understood or been able to appreciate otherwise. Loved the combo of sanctioned murals, paste ups, stickers, tags and more. We had great conversations and saw so much more than “just” street art (and I’m kind of obsessed with street art). Was introduced to the work of @misskk_budapest, @0036mark, @okudart and more who I can now follow and appreciate their art from afar!! We also went to a couple of ruin pubs, a cool bookstore/coffee shop, and he showed me some recommendations for shopping from vintage stores, local artists/makers instead of just mass produced stuff. Would absolutely do another tour with Budapest Flow if I’m lucky enough to return to Budapest. I wish I’d also signed up for the Kolodko mini statue tour as well, but found Attila's blog post on the Kolodko statues incredibly helpful in creating my own mini self-guided tour.

    Wonderful tour!
Attila was extremely informative, not only about the art itself but the historical and social significance of each piece as well as the surrounding neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the Jewish Quarter.

Street Art & Mini Statues tours review
Attila's very knowledgeable and passionate about street art and it shows. He takes good care of those on his tours, making sure everyone's questions were answered and everyone's ok with the tour pace. I went on 2 tours with him - one on Street Art and another on Mini Statues. I really enjoyed both and would highly recommend them. He not only remembers everyone's names but also everything you've mentioned to him. The tours felt very personalised and interactive, it was excellent value for money. Thank you for making my visit to Budapest so memorable :)

    History, Art and Beer!
Fantastic tour, Attila was informative and engaging. The tour was nit rushed and we felt we saw a true view of the area. We learnt about the history and culture from a person who lived through it and in it. I would highly recommend this tour and Attila.

    Great day in Budapest
This was an amazing tour. Attila showed us many sites we did not experience the day before. His knowledge of the City, Country and the World were vast. It was my birthday and this tour made for a very special day.

    Take this tour!
This tour is really, really good. It was one of our favorite experiences from a two-week trip to central Europe. Attila is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about local artists and has lots of stories about the history of Budapest and especially how the neighborhoods have changed over the past 20-30 years. He provided great restaurant recommendations that suited our diverse group of picky eaters. I really appreciated that Attila was able to make the tour memorable not just for the adults, but also for the kids. After our return home, our youngest was telling his friends about the the politics of the two-tailed dog party. Really wished we could have taken another tour -- we'll have to save that for our next visit!

Highlight of our time in Budapest!
Atilla's tour was the highlight of our time in Budapest! His ability to share the history, culture, context and current scene brought the murals, stickers, paste-ups and more to life for us. We found him to be both incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely a delight to spend an afternoon with. Sharing a coffee in a local cafe, while having a relaxed chat was a lovely way to step out of the rain. We're looking forward to exploring more of this wonderful city with Atilla on our next trip to Budapest.

An amazing experience—even my teenagers agree!
Attila was an amazing guide—friendly, full of energy and information, and easy to talk to. He gave us many tips on the history, context and cool happenings around the area. We would definitely recommend this tour to friends and will contact him for the other offerings he has! My kids (15 and 13) said it was their favorite part of the whole trip.

    highlight of my trip!
This tour was the absolute highlight of my 5 and a half days in Budapest. Not only do you get to take in all of the beautiful sights, you also get a better understanding of the meanings behind all of the street art, and how life in the Jewish quarter was during WWII. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone - especially those interested in history, street art, and the alternative side of Budapest. Attila is super knowledgeable, and very accommodating. I broke my foot a few months before coming to Budapest, and he was constantly checking in to see if I needed to rest or if the pace was ok. He was also happy to give personal recommendations for what to do with my remaining time in the city! Highly recommend this tour if you’re coming to Budapest!

We were looking for something different and found it!
My husband and I took a tour called Underground Cultural Vibes, which was so enjoyable. Our guide, Attila, provided us with a lovely comprehensive tour of some of the lesser-travelled areas of Budapest. He was enthusiastic as he guided the discussions we had and answered our questions regarding the history of the areas we walked through. We spent time in one of the bars that is in fact a cultural hub for civil organizations, which was both a pleasant and unique experience. We also wandered into a lovely bookstore where I purchased an unconventional souvenir that I was so happy to find. I would highly recommend any of the tours from Budapestflow!

Street art and so much more
Really enjoyed the Street Art Tour with Attila. Great way to get a feel for the city with lots of discussion on architecture, history and politics mixed in with the street art!

Fantastic walking tour with Atilla. We were booked in for the Jewish quarter and graffit art tour. There were five of us in our group making it much more personal. This tour will certainly not disappoint. Atilla was full of chat, humour, lots of information and had so much passion for the history and culture. We had a little break in a quaint bookshop serving a selection of coffee and cold drinks. Thank you Atilla for making our trip so memorable

Awesome guide. Must do if you are interested in street art, history, not-touristy ruin bars. Do not do if you want a pub crawl or head to touristy bars/eateries. Loved the bookshop he showed us.

It was fun going to see the cool spots of Budapest. We went mid afternoon which was
perfect timing. As a senior, I would not want to be there when it is very crowded. Kind of cool to imagine how the apartments used to be.
The food trucks actually had really good food. I just like to sit and linger.
I only saw standing places.

Dear Martha, I'm afraid you posted the review on an inappropriate Tripadvisor account. We run walking tours that include the ruin bars and the street art scene of Budapest but we don't visit any food trucks. Please remove the review. Thank you!

Attila was an excellent guide. Although the evening was cold, I was thankful for the tour and was happy the tour was arranged, despite me being a solo tourist. I tend to be more on the introverted side of things, so the solo trip may not have been the best for Attila. He was a very knowledgeable guide and I enjoyed the known and personal history he shared about the areas of Budapest. He was enthusiastic about the tour and areas visited. I appreciated his patience with me as I'm sure I wasn't his most talkative or exciting tour. One to let things sink in, I greatly appreciate the sights and knowledge about the areas and enjoyed seeing how gentrification in Budapest compares to gentrification happening in the United States.

Attila was amazing, giving us (only 3) real insights about the ruinpubs area from not only an artistic and historical perspective, but also a social and political context. I felt the tour was much more a dialogue rather than just a blunt presentation. Attila made his explanations really interesting and has a broad range of knowledge on every topic! I learnt a lot.

I would advise to take this tour at the beginning of your trip, because Attila has excellent recommendations!

Thank you.

This was one of our highlights in Budapest. Atilla was a delightful & engaging tour guide who provided a local person's view of the Jewish section and the Runi pub culture. Stops along the way were thoughtful, unique and interesting, and he was extremely kind and knowledgeable. The four of us who went on the tour would highly recommend this experience!

Traveling through Budapest on my own, I was interested in seeing a bit more of the culture without doing yet another big-red-bus type tour our completely wandering the streets lost (as a solo female traveler). And this was just that! Starting in the late afternoon, I met the host, Attila, outside of a cute little coffee shop before we began. Over the course of 2+ hours, we explored the local area, visiting local design shops, ruin bars, an art gallery, super interesting Art Deco synagogue, mixed use space, and take in all the amazing street art/murals. In addition, restaurants and great places to eat were also pointed out. At each stop, Attila would often pull out his tablet to share a bit of history and insight into the destination with images and key insights.

As it was off season, I ended up being on the tour on my own. Which was perfectly fine - it gave me the opportunity to ask Attila about life in Budapest and really get an insiders perspective. I also got my bearings on hip Jewish Quarter and was able to return the following day to further explore and shop, with absolute ease.

In addition to being a lovely host, Attila ensured I found my way to the right bus back to my hotel and even emailed additional recommendations for how I should spend my final day in Budapest. So helpful!

I would recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in the creative class and cultural - and is a bit tired of the redundant museum-like tours of yet another palace or monuments.

Happy travels!

I'm 26, but just because I'm in the drinking game demographic doesn't mean I want to spend my months travelling going from pub crawl to pub crawl. Travelling alone in Budapest, the Ruin Pubs posed somewhat of a problem for me – I wanted to experience them without being forced to drink 3 shots every 3 minutes, or sit alone nursing a beer. Then I came across Atilla's afternoon Ruin Pubs tour, which offered exactly the alternative I was looking for, and as it turns out, more.

Atilla is personable and non intimidating (which is important when you are on a one-on-one tour with someone for 3 hours), and he really is happy to adapt the tour to you. What's more, his knowledge of the area really is seemingly second-to-none. In addition to showing me the classic Ruin Pubs, Attila showed me those off-the-beaten-path pubs where tourists don't think to go. The real bonus though, was that this tour was so much more than Ruin Pubs – it was an introduction to the beating cultural heart of the Jewish Quarter, which doubles up as a hipster heaven (who knew?) with galleries, cafes, design stores and boutique shops to rival even Berlin.

My tour ended in a beautiful garden as the sun went down – perfect. Thanks for a wonderful tour Atilla!

Attila was an awesome guide, really tailored the tour to your interests; i.e. architecture, history, street art, gentrification, or even a combination (we did the combination). I learned a ton about the history of Budapest and the neighborhood and enjoyed a couple beers in some very cool off the beaten path bars along the way.

On my first day of Budapest I wanted to see the Jewish quarter as I'd heard this was a must-do activity. Attila's ruinpub tour was perfect for seeing all the main sights, visiting some funky bars, understanding the culture and history of the Jewish quarter, and getting good recommendations of local places to eat. Was also fun having a drink with Attila and the other participants towards the end of the tour. In short, I'd recommend this tour to tourists looking for culture and history
