- Lookout070 contributionsExcellent insight to the CityExcellent dual language tour (German & English) as a result of us only being 4 in total. Better the tour goes ahead in dual language mode than gets cancelled due to lack of people. Ingrid was very knowledgeable and spoke faultless English. Combined with the excellent Free Walking tours we have also done we will leave Budapest after 3x days feeling we got a taste of the CityWritten December 4, 2024
- ElissaClaire0 contributionsfull day, not a lot seenEUrama sightseeing tour - Booked the Danube Bend Tour with lunch I paid extra for hotel pick up in Budapest, driver was exactly on time, and even with traffic was able to get me to the bus starting point on time. Tour advertisement and brochure description copy/pasted below my review. I booked this tour in-person from EURama directly at their office in Budapest. When the advertisement and employee say you make a short visit to Slovakia, let me emphasize ‘short’. It was a 6-minute photo stop to look across the Danube and take a picture, then get back on the bus. When it notes that ‘we show you a great view of the Danube Valley at Visegrad /former royal residence, they also promote that aspect speaking of the tour when selling it. Well, they neglect to say it’ll be from a distance and if cloudy you will never see it. We did not actually go to the royal residence and get to see it, whether from the bus or outside the bus. Never saw it. Bonus was the tour guide, ADAM. He’s a wealth of information and great tour guide. Can tell he enjoys what he does and has a passion for sharing information. Bonus was also the tour did get the return along the Danube River, even though it was early October and after Oct 1. The 3 course lunch was delicious. Nice restaurant on a mountain. I’m sure on a nice day would be a great view from there. Highlight, and most time allotted to explore, was Szentendre. Lovely artist’s village to explore and walk around the hilly streets and along the main strip. Great restaurant and café options to pop in and enjoy. Overall, felt that this tour sells a full day of experiences, but moreso felt like a day on a bus with limited experiences for the price paid. BROCHURE: (3 historic places in 1 day) – We make a short visit by bus to Slovakia and drive back to Esztergom, (Center of the Catholic Church) – interior visit of the Cathedral and after that we show you a great view of the Danube Valley at Visegrád (the former Royal Residence). After the Lunch (3-course menu with 1 mineral water) – we carry on to Szentendre (guided walk in the Artist’s village) at the end of the tour we return to Budapest on the Danube by public scheduled boat (from April 28 until the 1st of October) (Duration: 1 hour) – the tour ends at the Pier/City Centre. • The Danube Bend • Visegrád • Royal Residence • 3-course menu • Esztergom • Interior visit of the Cathedral • Slovakia (photostop) • Artists’ Village Szentendre (guided walk) • Return by public boat (Boat trip April 28 – 1st of October)Written October 27, 2024

- TamirBraf0 contributionsSzentendre artistic tourThe tour was fun and very interesting. Our guide Attila was wise and humoristic and speaks 3 languages. We took a boat back to Budapest and it was a great ending for this lovely tour This Artistic city is a great place to visit and there is lots of artist's shops and souvenirs and some nice place to eat or drink. In addition I recommend not missing the Marzipan's museum and shop.Written October 18, 2024
- 720arikam0 contributionsNot as Promised. Do Not Recommend. Some friends and I were suckered into purchasing four tickets for an alleged one-hour cruise of the Danube river from an enthusiastic, rosy-cheeked, yet lying bastard of a gentleman manning a booth under a red umbrella. We were told we would circle the entire city, and that we would be provided a commentary of the history of the city and the buildings and the landmarks we encountered. Once we got on the boat, we were lucky to even find seating. As the interior of the boat was completely full, we had no choice but to push together four raggedy chairs on the top portion of the barge. While waiting at the downstairs bar to purchase drinks, we were able to hear some of the promised narrative about Budapest, but once we returned to our upstairs seats, we were met only with the cadence of the lapping waves, the hum of the ship’s motor, and the disappointed murmuring of the other guests, who were also expecting to learn a bit about the history of the architecture we were whizzing past. As the stench of petrol burned our nostrils, we located several rusty speakers, each quieter than a mouse pissing on cotton. Thirsty for knowledge, we took several random blurry photos, texting them to acquaintances across the ocean in a rather crude and desperate attempt to ‘phone a friend.’ Quickly recognizing the inefficiency of this endeavor, we sent one brave member of our party to the belly of the boat to inquire about the promised narrative, only to discover that the entire staff’s command of the English language had almost completely evaporated. Our subsequent bitching and complaining was unexpectedly cut short when the tour ended after only 40 short minutes, depriving us of our God-given right to continue moaning and bitching about the degradation of the typical customer service experience despite the shocking rise of inflation in today’s economy and how we are all so goddamned sick of this sh**. Would not recommend.Written October 18, 2024

You do not go to Visegrad Castle (just see it from a distance) and the only time on the Danube was on a public transport boat back to Budapest that was sweltering hot and packed with commuters.Written October 3, 2024

Great half-day tour in 5 people to the Sisi summer residence, our guide Attila was extremely competent with lots of curiosities and notions about the princess and Budapest, all in perfect Italian. In addition, he also suggested a restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended

Very nice way to spend couple hours further off Budapest. We were group of 5 and the tour was very well organized. Driver Lazslo good and punctual, the minivan exteremly comfortable and clean. Our tour guide Attila was very friendly and knowledgeable. On our way to Godollo he explain a lot about the parts of town we were passing. On the site we walk through the park first to see the Elizabeth statue and afterwards we had a tour. During the tour Attila explained a big amount of history and life of people connected to this castle. The tour was in english and is suitable for all ages. I wish we had more time after tour to walk through gardens. Overall a very nice tour, worth the visit.

Attila was a great guide, very informative and open to questions. He easily switched back and forth between English and German and everybody got the same detailed information. I highly recommend him. The Palace is beautiful, the rooms, pictures and furniture authentic reproductions if the originals were not available. Thoroughly informative tour based on the history of Hungary, Maria Theresa, Franz Joseph and of course, Sissi. Take your time to enjoy the coffee and cake at the end.

We pay for half a visit because the guide manages 2 groups with 2 different languages.
The French language is approximate, some sentences are incomprehensible. We pass through the rooms quickly, the explanations are quick. It is, on the other hand, good to offer transport from Budapest, less good to be 20 minutes late. Everything is cut short, even though it is a castle rich in history.

Very positive experience.
Meeting point for the departure of the tour very easy to find in the center of Budapest.
Private bus that takes you directly to the palace and returns to the starting point, all on time.
Hungarian guide who spoke Italian very well, very kind and very knowledgeable.
Since we were only three Italians in the group, the guide who spoke in Italian gave us all the attention possible during the entire duration of the tour, also offering us valuable advice on what to visit in Budapest in the following days.

The meeting place was near our lodging and we easily found our transportation. Our tour guide Christine warmly welcomed us. During the trip to the palace, she provided an explanation of the sections of town we passed, historic buildings up to the palace. She walked us thru the gardens and into the palace .
During the tour, she shared her knowledge of the people who lived in the palace abs interesting events which occurred there.
Definitely a location to return, especially if able to have Christine as the guide again.

Very lovely trip and very well organized, everything went smoothly - on the road, as well as at the palace.
The guide was very professional, well informed and welcoming, spoke many languages very well (including Romanian, which was a very nice surprise for me).
The tour of the palace was done at a very good pace in my opinion and I'm glad we also had time to go to the cafeteria before leaving.
Highly recommend!

I visited the castle of Godollo with my boyfriend. It was an amazing experience, especially thanks to our guide Kristina who explained us many interesting things and historical facts about Hungary. She was very knowledgeable and open to discuss about everything and to help us with any doubt. I suggest giving a try to this tour! It’s totally worth it!
