      Wonderful, informative tour!
Wonderful experience! Kata was our guide and she was terrific. She gave us so much information about the history of theJewish community, including personal experiences from her family. She was able to pace the tour to fit our needs. We were very happy that we chose this tour. And it’s worth adding the shoes on the Danube!

Good tour of Memento Park - and more.
We went to Memento Park with the guide. It was an excellent tour. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Both before and after touring the park we spent quite a bit of time talking about the history of Hungary in the 20th century and learned a great deal. He is very knowledgeable and willing to share his experience with you.

Highlight of our time in Budapest!
What a spectacular way to learn about Hungary and Communism through the eyes of a person who lived through it. Spending over 3 hours walking and talking we were able to ask questions and get to know a wonderful man with so much to share. We highly recommend this tour. It personalizes Budapest and its people. Books, maps and a large group tour does not compare to this personal experience.

Professor of Private Tours - Truly Rich History!
I am grateful to have met the Fungarian my first day arriving in Budapest. His guidance on the metro and city was excellent for exploring on my own for the duration of my trip. The in-depth education on the Jewish history truly rounded out the richness and complexity of Hungary and Budapest's development. If people are unaware of the impact from the Jewish community, they are truly missing the full story. The Fungarian is an excellent teacher!

      Excellent informative and interesting
Excellent, informative well rounded. Miklòs has extensive knowledge of and feeling for the Jewish history of Budapest. It was neither narrow nor linear but added contextual cultural artistic and contemporary political material into a tour of the essential sites of this once great community. Though tragically obliterated Miklòs brought a lost world back to life for us. P&D

      Excellent Shopping Trip
As always an excellent trip to the flea market. Miklos is a great guide and knows how to find and get the best deals. Make sure to go on Saturday because that is when the most vendors are there as well as a smaller market outside the main one. Other days of the week are not really worth it. OH! and you get to taste the best langos in town!

      Great guide and teacher
We were fortunate to have four walks throughout Budapest with Miklos Molnar. He is a gifted teacher and guide who helped us see so much of Budapest while gaining a deepened understanding of its history and future. He pitched the talks with just the right combination of information, insight and humor. His experience teaching at the university level was evident in his wonderful fund of knowledge. He listened carefully and always used our questions as a way to give added insights about Hungary. I can’t recommend Miklos Molnar highly enough. I hope we have the opportunity to have him as our guide again.

      Fantastic Jewish Heritage Tour
Went on the Jewish Heritage Tour with Miklos and had a fantastic time. Small group of 5 adults from the US. Miklos is a retired professor and was friendly, knowledgeable and gave us a fantastic tour. His knowledge of the history of the city, country and the local Jewish history was extensive! I highly recommend him!!

Whatever you want to know, ask Miklós.
We spent a very enjoyable 2 hours with Miklós. When we booked he asked what we were interested in and he came prepared. I wanted to know how to pronounce Hungarian words. He brought some great written materials and took us through the alphabet and accents and demonstrated how to apply them. We also talked about where Hungarians came from, Jewish history, the synagogue and other things. A great opportunity to learn things you want to know from a local who speaks excellent English!

      Fun-(and informative)-garian
This was an amazing tour by a knowledgeable, organized, credible guide. You can ask Miklós anything..he knows the city, its history, architecture, monuments, and its culture. What is so special about the tour though is that Miklós is adaptable and flexible. He tailors the tour to the participants' interests, background, and physical endurance. He has a great sense of humor. It was excellent. The rating scale is 5 points; I rate him a 10+

Navigate the transit system like a pro.
If you do only one tour then this transportation tour will have you using trams, underground, metro, trolley buses, and your feet. Miklos is so knowledgeable, he comes prepared, and adapts easily. This is ideal for your first day, and then you can travel throughout the entire transit system easily. I learned so much about culture, history and markets and architecture while learning to navigate a very good and integrated public transportation system. Excellent tour. It was so much fun and so useful.

My husband and I enjoyed our 3hr tour with Miklos, focused on Art Nouveau. We learnt a great deal about three key figures in the Hungarian A.N. movement. At a moderate pace, we stopped at about a dozen buildings, to admire and discuss. Miklos graciously welcomed us to his home where he shared his personal glassworks by Miksa Roth. In addition, he answered our many questions about Hungarian history and culture. We loved taking public transport too!

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I feel it's my mission to popularize the three great artists who made Hungarian Art Nouveau (Sezession) so unique, Ödön Lechner, the architect, Vilmos Zsolnay, the ceramics artist and Miksa Róth, the mosaic stained glass artist. I am glad you appreciated my personalized tour including the building dated back to 1898 with all the wonders of Art Nouveau.

Miklos was an amazing guide! His attention to detail was fantastic and he pointed out things within the city that I have never noticed before (and I visit Budapest often). His materials, such as his maps and pictograms, were incredibly helpful in understanding Hungarys rich history. His explanations were very thorough and he presented the history in a very engaging and interesting manor. Truly an excellent experience and one of the best tours I have ever had the pleasure of going on!

Thank you for your positive evaluation. I appreciate your words praising my efforts to present our very long history in an understable way. Not easy, but challenging. I hope next time we can continue at a point where we finished. You should definitely visit the Memento Park, a scene of history.

This was a very interesting and informative walk around such a beautiful city with advice to see other places like the Memento Park. It helped us to effectively plan the rest of our week’s stay. It was just about the right length for us ‘oldies’!

Thank you very much for your contentful appreciation. Our policy at Fungarian has always been to show you things in a wider context. Our ambition is to share the best of our culture and sadly share the historical tragedies. Thank you again. Miklós Note: forget about oldies, we are forever young as long as we we are curious.

Miklos was a great tour guide. He met us at our hotel and we had a wonderful times seeing the different art nouveau sites around town. My husband is a photographer, and he’s enjoyed the photographic opportunities the tour provided. His knowledge of the area is comprehensive, and we learned that he’s does multiple tours on different subjects, which makes us want to take another tour on our next visit.

It was my pleasure to brag with the best pieces of Hungarian Art Nouveau to 'connoisseurs.' And we had seen only a few. Let's consider this tour as tasters' choice and I hope you will come back for a few more days. I can guarantee you won't be bored. Miklós

Thank you very much for your wonderful words. We have visitors from several countries and with various cultural backgrounds. We chose for us the slogan THE LISTENER COMES FIRST because we realised that we can explain the quirky features of Hungarian culture only if we know who we are talking to. Thanks again.

Miklosz was amazing! I learned more on this tour about history, architecture and Hungary than I’ve learned all my years of high school and college combined. Not only is this man hilarious and a delight to be around, but he is an encyclopedia of unbound knowledge. He thoroughly answered all the questions we had and pointed out details I’m sure less experienced guides would have brushed over.

Being half Hungarian myself, I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a true authentic Hungarian experience or to anyone looking to get to know the city on an intimate level. It was delight.

Thank you for your nice review. One of the slogans of Fungarian is 'Budapest is an open-air classroom' - take, architecture styles, history or arts. All these make us locals proud of the city. The most enjoyable things are little details like a cute putto on a wall of a historic building or an intimate coffee shop in a side street. Moreover, Budapest is in constant change and made vibrant by its inexhaustible cultural programs. Hope to see you again. Miklós
