- Radek K0 contributionsGood but less time than promised.Trip should take two hours, in reality it was hour and twenty minutes. Overall we liked it and would recommend to anyone who wants to see Budapest at night.Written February 12, 2025
- shannonkE9558DG0 contributionsA delightful evening!Had such a lovely time on this cruise. Fabulous live music, excellent service from Vivien who was friendly and always came with a smile. I'm so glad I chose this cruise!Written February 11, 2025
- lilliancV1987AL0 contributionsThe "cheap" river cruiseIt was a nice enough cruise particularly value for money (we didn't have drinks or food or anything) and it is a 2h trip. However you can't really see well enough the sights well from the ship we were in, you must go to the terrace (which we were fine with but in winter perhaps many won't want to). The entertainment and service were however very clearly marked by the price tag which seemed a little on the nose. We have done activities like these in other cities and those who paid more or less weren't made to feel any different. Also beware that if you're in the "cheap" section the musicians will be expecting a tip from you, in cash even though the whole ship is cashless. Overall though, it is a nice enough experience to do along the DanubeWritten February 11, 2025

- D6241GVanap0 contributionsA Magical Night-Time Cruise in BudapestMy partner and I had the most incredible experience on a night-time cruise in Budapest. From start to finish, everything was seamless, elegant, and truly unforgettable. The atmosphere on board was nothing short of magical. As we sailed along the Danube, the breathtaking views of Budapest’s illuminated landmarks created the perfect romantic setting. The Parliament building, Buda Castle, and the Chain Bridge all looked stunning against the night sky. A special mention must go to Valentin, who went above and beyond to make our evening perfect. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed and making us feel truly looked after. His warm and professional service added a personal touch to the experience, making it even more memorable. The cruise itself was well-organised, with excellent service and a relaxed, sophisticated ambience. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening or simply a unique way to see Budapest at night, this is an experience not toWritten February 7, 2025

- ronnied9990 contributionsTake yourself back in time in HungaryThis is a traditional Hungarian experience. We had the 5 course wine flight experience. Fanni was our server. Young bright lady who was very knowledgeable about her wines and regions and why they paired with the food. You were not short changed on measures and we didn’t feel wanting for food or wine. You also get Live Hungarian music from musicians who would not be lost in philharmonic. All in all a great experience of Hungary.Written February 6, 2025

Undoubtedly a "blast" from the past. The rooms are beautiful, the Art Noveau style with mosaics and decorations are spectacular... Too bad the cleanliness and hygiene are not at their best.
I recommend bringing a towel, cap and slippers otherwise they should be purchased and cost a lot!

The building is magnificent, two swimming pools, including an outdoor swimming pool half full, difficult to find toilets for women due to construction. Otherwise 5 hot water pools, hammams. Many people in hot water pools without checking basic hygiene measures. No explanations or supervision of staff. In short, expensive for what it is. There are other, more pleasant establishments in Budapest.

Despite the other reviews, we found this spa a lovely place to visit and relax on a rainy day. Everyone was helpful, the baths and changing areas clean and a truly unique experience. It’s not cheap but you can reduce your costs by bringing towel, swim cap, flip flops, swimming costume. The balcony by the cafe has loungers and is a little quieter from the bustle downstairs. The baths, like much of Budapest, is under restoration and not all areas are open but we didn’t feel minimised the experience.

Not recommended! Paid €41 per person…. Private entrance? But what are we talking about…. I don't think it exists... Mixed changing room (man/woman) with "cabins/ niches" for dirty and very sad changing... tubs inside full of people and couples in the mood for public effusions! Massage area with curtains 🤦♀️ common areas, very cold and dirty showers and bathrooms. Refreshment area full of people in costumes and shirtless.... We literally escaped after 1/2 hour...certainly the large tourist flow has greatly worsened the level of hospitality of this spa facility.
On this site you paid €41 compared to the official entrance fee of around €30.
So book only on the spa website if you want to go or buy the ticket on the spot (if you decide to go).

Magnificent!!!
I can't wait to return.
Very reasonable prices but, you need to bring flip flops as it is mandatory. You need a head cap if you want to go into the main swimming pool and your own towel or else, it's quite pricey to purchase these.
You can grab a drink and some tasty food upstairs and it's lovely! Very relaxed.
The building itself is beautiful.
The hot pools are amazing :) especially the hottest one.
The steam room is like nothing I have ever experienced. Extremely hot.
Would recommend 10/10

Never got the tickets I ordered and had to buy new on site. I booked tickets for his Headout Budapest. I responded that I did not get confirmation mail immediately, also searched in Spam. I reassured myself that they probably came before the hi went there, 3 days later at 9 a.m.
When we get to Gellert and I'm gonna find the tickets, there's nothing on Mail.
My daughter is also trying to search my Mail, nothing.
So we had to buy new ones.
After the spa, at 16.58 comes the mail with tickets!
I complain to Headout, but they refuse. They say it was sent on time. I show screenshot of the email that has arrived and the times, but they still refuse.
It was an expensive visit! Children also can not use most of the pools, so we change with paying 230€ for sitting quietly in two pools!!!

I liked it a lot, the building is beautiful with pools at different temperatures, sauna, steam... in short, a nice and pleasant experience, you leave very relaxed, it is very large, like a labyrinth. I definitely recommend it. We took the package with a small room to get dressed and leave our belongings, it was very comfortable and safe.

The baths are ok and I suspect at times great, but please please note that if you don’t have flip flops and have to buy them there they will charge about €25. I then discovered there were ones for €12.50. I asked if I could exchange and the women at the desk said as I had paid on a card I could not have a refund or exchange. I queried this and said I didn’t think that was right, but was told they couldn’t refund and let my buy the other shoes. This ruined the trip and when we found the wave pool was closed and the whole place was poorly sign posted and organised it was a real shame.
So for the baths itself please please pay more attention to your visitors, it really would make all the difference.

Great day at Gellert Spa. Treated myself to a spa day while in Budapest. It was a great experience with an outdoor pool and terrace where I spent the morning and indoor hot pools where I spent the afternoon relaxing in the hot baths.
Locker was included in the entrance fee, but if going again I would be tempted to pay extra for a cabin as changing space in the general locker area was limited.

Incredible photography of a place that is unfortunately not kept up. The bathrooms and changing areas are disgusting. The baths and pools are not kept up and in need of repair and care. It was extremely crowded on a Monday afternoon (standing room only in the center of the baths). I would definitely not recommend. I've been to thermal pools in multiple other countries and the experiences were night and day. At least we felt the huge entrance fee was a donation to this crumbling place to get back on it's feet. It's sad how rude the employees were to guests supporting the facility.

Are swimming hats obligatory? what is this about shoulder and knee length swimsuits?
Written September 18, 2019
Hello Janeg,
I went to the Gellert Spa Baths just under 2 weeks ago. A swimming cap is required if you wish to swim in the indoor swimming pool - it's in a beautifully decorated room with amazing art work and tiling. That aside, you can go into all the thermal pools inside, the outside wave machine pool and the saunas and steam baths without a cap. I can't specifically comment on the swimming costume detail, other than to say women were wearing currently fashionable swimwear. Hope this helps, Robert

I’m fairly sure you can but I think they would get bored quickly and as it’s an expensive place to visit you may want to skip it. £30 each for adults is fine if you’re spending the best part of a day there but a bit pricy if you’re only there an hour because of a bored child.

As far as I can remember, we didn't see many children there. However, I could see no signs saying no children allowed, but I would imagine that they would have to be supervised and potty trained.
