- crevans19750 contributionsTerrific walking tour, very informative and funWe had a wonderful time on this walking tour. Our guide, Rebecca, was extremely knowledgeable. We learned about the history of Budapest, some of it quirks, and even the public transportation system. The strudel was also very good. I highly recommend this tour.Written December 7, 2024

- 355nimfab0 contributionsAmazing views and details from a great tour guide!Tour guide Petra covered everything that we would wanted. Establishments were explained thoroughly, very informative, not boring. We had time to take great photos and took in all the amazing views. - haralambos240 contributionsGreat Tour!I had a great experience with Absolute Tours in Budapest! The guide was friendly and informative, offering plenty of interesting facts about the city's history and landmarks. The small group size made the tour more personal, and the pace was just right. My only small complaint was that some of the stops could have used a bit more time to explore. Overall, it’s a fantastic way to see the main sights of Budapest, and I’d definitely recommend it!Written November 10, 2024
- edjonescc0 contributionsTerrific guide, Gregory, for Buda Castle tour.Gregory was delightful! He grew up in the area and knows it inside and out. We saw the major sites as well a several off the beaten path sites. Definitely a 5 star -- we hated when the tour ended. The area is amazingly beautiful.Written November 8, 2024
- lisagF9717HB0 contributionsPerfect start to our Budapest City BreakWe booked this walking tour and river cruise on our first night to give us a good insight into what Budapest has to offer. Petra our guide was amazing, she certainly knew her stuff and we were lucky enough to end up with just us 4 so we got a private tour, asked loads of questions and really got to know not just the facts but all the local stories aswell. Petra really made us feel welcome and made us hungry for more knowledge. The city cruise after was just right for a simple sit down and watch the beautiful city scape pass us by. Highly recommended.Written November 5, 2024
- JimBSE0 contributionsBudapest Hammer & Sickle Communist TourThis was the best tour we took on our trip to Budapest. Greg was very knowledgable and equally entertaining, telling us about both experiences under Communism and the city around us. I’m still talking about it now I’m back home, a few hours very well spent.Written November 1, 2024
- SandiEzB0 contributionsOne of our Best ToursOur tour guide, Anna, was EXCELLENT! By far, she’s our favorite guide during our entire two-week trip. We learned SO MUCH about the history, culture and significance of every historical landmark and district of Budapest. Her grasp of the information is remarkable and her English is impeccable — she’s very easy to understand and engaging. The tour was 4-hours, but it flew by and at least an hour is spent enjoying coffee & tea, a mixed plate of delicious strudel and chance to get to know the other travelers of our small group of five. I highly recommend this tour, especially if it’s your first time to Budapest and if you’re lucky enough to get Anna — you will not regret it!Written October 24, 2024
- mammacitarita0 contributionsGreat tour to learn history of Budapest, Hungary, and have great Streudel! We had a very informative 4 hour small group tour led by Balanc ( forgive the misspelling, I am sure). He was very knowledgeable regarding the history of Hungary as a country and the people; including past and present history interspaced with some dry humor and jokes that were appropriate to the topic being discussed. He was patient at answering questions and kept the group moving along without making us feel rushed. This tour also gives you an opportunity to learn how the public transit system works and he let us know that those of us 65+ ride for free! Would recommend without hesitation! Oh- and the strudel- make sure and try the cabbage and poppyseed!Written October 21, 2024
- NLF20130 contributionsA wonderful dayOur guide Monica was very easy to hear and understand. We used the Metro to travel between many stops and walked a lot including stairs to the top of Buda. The strudel and coffee stop was excellent and refreshing. We ended the tour on the Buda side and took a tram back to Pest without difficulty after walking around on our own. A great way to be introduced to the city!Written October 20, 2024

there were 4 of us who signed up for the tour, two couples. ended up being the entire small group. we were met by Sophia who was just fantastic. she had so much knowledge and was passionate about her city of Budapest. we did a walking tour of the Jewish quarter, she explained all the synagogues, background of the street art muals, overview of the ruin bars, we stopped for a drink at a patio area, and overall, a wonderful way to tour that part of Budapest. and Sophia was the best guide ever. highly recommend this tour.

We learned so much about the history of Budapest through the different street art. It was interesting to see how the city celebrates various populations as well as how Western culture connected with Hungary following the end of Communism.

Our guide started by asking my friend and I what our expectations of the walking tour was, given that it was just the two of us who had booked on to the walk for that day.
We were taken around the Jewish district, stopping of at points of interest and taking in the street art and monuments.
Our guide was funny and really interesting - and also asked us questions about life in the UK. Despite the cold weather, the two and a half hours went quickly and before we knew it we were at our last destination - the ruin bar - enjoying a couple of glasses of wine!
I'd definitely recommend this tour for something a little bit different.

If you are interested in street art, grafitti, urban art, underground art, this is the tour you do not want to miss. It is informative. You also learn a lot on the 7th district also known as the yewish quartier. Today, the 7th district is burstling with life / cultural life. This is demonstrated with huge wall paintings that are very beautiful. Moreover, they provide an interesting view on today’s Hungary. This is shown in a tour that is guided by a very enthusiastic guide.

With only 2 of us on the tour we had a very personal experience of alternative Budapest. The tour guide was a very passionate knowledgeable local who did an excellent job showcasing this beautiful city. So much history and street art throughout the city each distinct and unique. Beautiful murals and statues scattered throughout Budapest- a treat for anyone new to the city. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing an alternative side of Budapest.

The walking tour was an incredible way to see all of the best spots to eat, have a night out, or explore street art in Budapest. Our tour guide, Anna, was incredible as she was very quick, on time, and very resourceful for many stories. I had a great time exploring the Zero Waste Store, the Jewish District, and many other great stops along the way. I'd only regret that we scheduled this tour at the beginning of the time I spent in the city but even though we had 2 days of sightseeing beforehand, nothing overlapped. Which was really great because we got toured on this excursion around the more locals- point of view of the city. I had such a fantastic time!!! Thank you Anna!!!!!

Hello, Im travelling as a single person. I can't register for the tour tomorrow (10th December). I think its because the system doesn't allow 1 person, only 2 person.
Can I meet with your group at the meeting point and pay cash and join the tour?
thank you.
Best.
