About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- MissEinDC0 contributionsGreat guide, good way to cover a lot of ground quicklyThis tour covers a lot of ground and is a good way to see many highlights of Slovenia if you have limited time. It's also nice that the group is limited to 8 people. Our guide, Emil was organized, friendly, informative, and made sure everyone in the group had the opportunity to customize their trips to their liking (to the extent reasonably possible). He was a great guide. I wish we would have had a little more time in Bled, but understand that would have made for quite a long day. TIP: There aren't really opportunities to stop for a meal so bring snacks, especially if you're doing the trip on a Sunday. All of the markets and many shops were closed so was difficult to find somewhere to grab a quick snack.Written September 16, 2024
- 1happytraveler050 contributionsA whirlwind day of beautiful sightsFantastic tour! Grateful for the opportunity to see so much beauty in one day. Unforgettable experience. Our tour guide was very friendly and helpful. He did his best to balance and accommodate the needs of our entire group.Written September 15, 2024
- F5311RQvictorc0 contributionsPacked full of history, scenery and explorationThe description is very fitting. And I believe if you're limited in time it's the right tour to take. George was fantastic, patient and great at explaining to us the history the attractions and different options throughout the day. I definitely would recommend this.Written September 9, 2024
- susan m0 contributionsGreat day trip!Great tour. Wish I could recall our guide’s name as he was fantastic. The caves are amazing and the stop at Piran was interesting, although would love to had more time there for a longer, leisurely lunch. Not much for shopping.Written September 4, 2024
- susanmX585CT0 contributionsGreat day outing! It was a long day, but well worth the time and money. Izzy was a great guide; he provided lots of information, was punctual, thoughtful of participants, and had some good insights and stories. My only suggestion is that one can skip the boat ride to the Bled island, it’s a tourist trap and the price for the very short boat ride to and from the island is exorbitant (it’s optional); why prop up the local el capo? We took the bait and climbed the 99 stairs (I’ve attached a pic) to only have a cold refreshment. But then, we weren’t interested in seeing yet another church and related museum. The Bled Castle was of more interest to us (wasn’t listed on itinerary but it was the next stop). The Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle were a good value; very cool. Choose wisely!Written September 4, 2024
- gaylb20150 contributionsLake BledAmazing Lake Bled was beautiful. The tour guide Izzy from Slovenia touring company was brilliant. The small group was worth itWritten September 3, 2024
- Z3120YEtonyp0 contributionsSpectacular day trip to see amazing sights.Great experience, the caves were amazing, be sure to bring something warm to wear over your top. The castle built into the caves is well presented and the self guided tour can quick and interesting without boring details. Lake bled was spectacular, stunning vistas, crystal clear water and all around gorgeous scenery. It was about a ten hour day but went quickly.Written August 24, 2024

- C1637ZVtatianag0 contributionsExcellent tourThis tour is a great way to see some of the most famous Slovenian sights in one day. Our guide Branko shared a lot of information about his country and created a really friendly atmosphere in the group. I loved the flexibility of the small group tour, and I really enjoyed the day! Note that tickets to the cave and the castle are not included in the price and should be purchased separately.Written July 31, 2024
- marisasE1404YQ0 contributionsBang for your buck in SloveniaThis was an excelllent way to maximize what you see if short on time in Slovenia. I was nervous as the weather forecast suggested all day rain. Despite this we saw everything and even had the sun for Bled when it counted most. Our driver was excellent and extremely knowledgeable about the area and Solvenia culture/history. I felt we had the perfect amount of time on each location.Written July 21, 2024

- shujins0 contributionsBeautiful Postojna cave and stunning Predjama castle! What a wonderful day trip! When you arrive at the pick-up area, just be warned that there are multiple shuttles, so don't fret if the first shuttle operator you approach doesn't have your name on their list -- someone will show up for you. :) We ended up riding with Emil, and sat up front, so we were able to ask a lot of questions about Slovenia and learn a lot about the country and culture. I have to say, we expected to be wow'd by Lake Bled, but I was surprised to find that we LOVED the Postonjna Cave and Predjama Castle the most. The caves, especially, were so fun -- Reminder: bring warm clothes to put over your summer clothes, if you're coming in the summer! But if you forget, they will have clothes to rent on-site. I thought it was fascinating that the floor coating in the caves meant you had a good foot grip on the ground, and the train ride at the start is so great. The castle? Stunning. It's beautiful, wonderful to check out and you'll learn a lot with the audio guides. While I enjoyed the wooden boat ride to the castle in the middle of Lake Bled, I can't say there was enough time or interesting things to do on the little island (and forget about that long line for gelato, you'll be in line for the entire duration!). From there, Emil said we could swim in the Lake, and I was so bummed that we didn't have our swimwear (or beach towels) with us! Our other fellow guests were smart, and they had a lovely time soaking up the sun, while we checked out another castle (which was, underwhelming, tbh). So learn from us -- bring your warm clothes (I brought joggers and a Nike tech top that's super warm to slip over my summer clothes) and pack swim wear to sunbathe/swim by the Lake.Written July 15, 2024

Before our conference we were looking for something to entertain guests and found the perfect activity in the Predjama Castle, Postonja Cave and visiting Lake Bled. We further expanded our activities with a walking tour that was slightly larger than usual but this was no problem for the skilled guides at Slovenia Explorer.
It was a hot day out but we had a good shuttle with solid airconditioning, Slovenia explorer handled all the difficulties of getting the tickets, priority lane for our group and explaining about the locales and the country on the road and at the sights.
We were very satisfied with our leisurely tour at a good price and despite traffic difficulties. We definitely recommend this company for group events!

We were looking for a half day tour that would get us back to the city by 2 pm, and this half day tour worked out great. Both cave and castle were amazing, we have seen lots of caves but never one that required a train ride to see!
We wanted to be picked up by our hotel in the morning to save 20 min, and the 8 passenger van showed up promptly at time specified. Being the last two and with someone already sitting at the front, one of us had to squeeze in the front while the other sat behind. The rides were not long but something to consider, perhaps it would have been better to get on the van in the original meeting place. We were dropped off there afterwards so walked back to the hotel since van needed to pick up other passengers for the afternoon tour.

Fantastic 1/2 day trip out of Ljubljana with Slovenian Experience Tours to Postonja Caves and Predjama Castle. These are 2 must-sees imho…. Sanda was a superb host/guide, very professional and courteous and we really appreciated the drive in across the country roads. Thank you Sanda. The caves and the castle both have some walking to do, but do not be put off, neither is particularly hard. Be careful underfoot on some of the surfaces, but just take it easy, you’re a tourist for the day :-)

Dear! Thank you for choosing our half-day trip to Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle! We are very happy to hear that you had a fantastic experience and that both the caves and the castle were a must-see for you. We are glad you found our tour guide to be professional and courteous and that you appreciated the scenic drive along the country roads.
We know that driving experience is very important for travelers discovering an unfamiliar country, which unfortunately is often overlooked.
We appreciate your feedback and hope to show you more of Slovenia's treasures in the future.

The best part of the tour was the tour guide. Barbara L. took extra time to explain everything in great detail. She included Slovenian history and culture, local legends, and a bit about herself and family at my asking. An excellent tour guide that made the Postojna and Predjama excursions more enjoyable.

Great tour - much more information about general Slovenian history and culture than I was expecting. Everything went very smoothly and the van was quite comfortable. Our group of six ended up having the tour to ourselves, which was an added bonus. The entrance fees were separate, but it still ended up costing about the same as what the tours that included them were charging. All in all, a great experience.

We were advised that the caves and castle were 'must see' sights in Slovenia, so we found a tour that combined them in half a day. On the day, there were only 4 of us on the tour, run by Vesna. The journey to the cave was about 45 minutes from Ljubljana in a very comfortable minibus.
The caves were vast and stunningly beautiful. They were accessed by a short train ride, then a walk of about an hour, followed by a train ride back to the entrance.
The castle was also very interesting.
Excellent tour, highly recommended.

The cave and the cassel are a good way to spend a day in the area. For bought tours we took the audio guide and it was perfect. The cave is beautiful. The tour starts by train tour and when you think it's beautiful you get out and start to explore the halls. Exploring the castle with the audio guide feels like living there.

Hi, we made this tour with Tomaz, who gave the most of himself to let us spend a wonderful day. He is a real sophisticated guide and very amusing! This tour is great to know two of the jewels of Slovenia. It is well organized, with good explanations and the caves and castle are very, very interesting places. Going with Explorer Tours gives you the comfort of being driven, forgetting about public transport. It is important to arrive at the caves at the right time in order to start the guided tour at the right moment. So, if you go with this tour you don’t have to worry about anything, it’s pure pleasure. Spend a bit more and enjoy your time fully! Thanks Tomaz, we loved your comments!

You’ve seen caves before and you’ve seen castles but you’ve never ones like these before…and on the same tour! The caves were fun and similar to others you may have been to, but also beautiful and different. The train ride was fun and the tour guide added to the experience. And I guarantee you’ve never seen a castle quite like this, uniquely built into the rock in the mountain. The legends were many and you’ll be telling stories too.

Visited Predjama Castle with Nina who gave us some interesting information about Slovenian history on the way. Postojna Caves are truly amazing. With Nina's help we did not have to spend much time waiting to go for caves tour. We did not have to worry about catching public transport. Lovely tour and guide.
