- thomasbW9957UI0 contributionsA waste of time.First, some advice: 1. If you find a Walkative tour on booking sites like Getyourguide that requires upfront payment - don't book it. It is a free tour with an optional tip at the end. (We didn't know this, but fortunately, Getyourguide refunded the payment) 2. If your guide introduces himself as Lukasz or "Luke" - leave. If you stay, you will waste your time. And second, a review of the 2.5h tour "Warsaw: Jewish History Guided Walking Tour in English" with Lukasz/Luke. What we expected was a lot of information on Jewish history, life in the Ghetto, and to see remnants of the Ghetto. What we got was a show-off who started the tour by telling us about his backpack and its contents, his experience guiding in other countries, and why he is perfect for this job. After that, we walked a lot without seeing much related to the topic (less than half the stops were relevant). The information he provided was less than what we would have learned after spending 10 minutes reading on Wikipedia instead. He often got lost in explanations and illustrations of simple numbers (like 300 kcal or 3 m). His entire presentation might be suitable for elementary school children, but not for adults. He tried to answer all of the (few) questions, but most of the time it seemed, like he did not really get the point of the questions. At the end of that tour he started a trivia instead of doing his job and providing information on the topic. At no time during the tour he did adapt to the weather conditions (windy at about 1°C). While the other group (Spanish) ended the tour in the entrance area of a museum, we were standing in the middle of a windy square, listening to his suggestions for the tip and promoting himself and the tour company.Written January 2, 2025
- brionym1000 contributionsAmazing, must do!This was an amazing tour filled with great information. Was so interested throughout and almost wish it went longer, very captivating tour guide. I cannot remember his name but we absolutely loved this tour and would recommend to anyone!Written December 29, 2024
- KirstenC4800 contributionsMissed a few important (advertised) sites on the Jewish tour...Keep your eyes open for important historical markers and permanent maps all over the former ghetto area. A bit disappointed with the guide, Andrejz - tended to get a bit lost in his stories - left several cliffhangers ... and then forgot about them.Written December 2, 2024
- Oz_eco_wanderer0 contributionsFabulous guide, learnt a lotI learnt a lot in this tour from our fabulous guide Anna who also works at Polin and has genuine expertise in the field of Jewish history. Without this tour I felt it would be easy to visit Warsaw and leave not knowing enough about the Jewish experience of the war.Written December 1, 2024
- Y7209MPrichardc0 contributionsInteresting insight into Jewish WarsawThis was an extremely interesting and insightful guided walk about the history of Jewish Warsaw. It really surprised me how big an area of Warsaw was the Ghetto and this walk gave a real sense of the scale and the boundaries. Sights included the remaining synagogue and part of the Ghetto wall. Andrzej is a brilliant guide and knows so much about all of the history. I learnt so much that was new to me and it was a memorable part of our three-night trip to Warsaw. Take cash to give at the end as we didn't realise he only took cash so only had a small amount to give him and not as much as we would have liked to have done.Written November 26, 2024

- Olivia F0 contributionsAna is great- really recommend!Ana was a really great tour guide. She was really knowledgeable about the subject. She knew how to pace the tour - she gave us just enough info to keep it really interesting and not too much where I felt it was overly fact heavy. I was really engaged the whole time. Very much recommend for a good overall history of Judaism in WarsawWritten October 31, 2024
- Brittany G0 contributionsExcellent tourHighly recommend this tour. Anna was excellent. She is/was well-informed and personable and I appreciated she is from the area and was able to share the history from both a historical and personal perspective. It is hard to tackle such a large area in 2.5 hours and she pulled it off. She had pictures to supplement, a speaker which allowed us all to hear easily, considered where we altered standing so as to not impact others, was conscious of walking speed, and always made sure the group stayed together. Great tour. Highly recommend.Written October 30, 2024

- abbots12120 contributionsWonderful few hours with a great guide .We booked this walking tour prior to leaving the U.K. We were a bit concerned when meeting at the meeting point as there were so many people but fortunately we were split between two guides. Our Guide was Anna who was marvellous , impeccable English, her knowledge and delivery was brilliant coupled with a great sense of humour. Would definitely recommend .Written October 18, 2024
- K2409PDalisonb0 contributionsWowThe WARSAW AT WAR tour was incredible. Andrzej was a fantastic guide, he was so knowledgeable and patient with our group. He was able to cover many aspects of Warsaw during the war - its history and relations with other countries to the Warsaw Uprising and the impact on the Jewish population. He showed us to some important monuments, pointed out key markers and shared about personal connection. I wish he was our guide on previous and future tours. Just a note - some guides have card and cash facilities available for payment at the end of the tour. Make sure you have cash for this tour.Written September 26, 2024
- FrequentFlier6565120 contributionsA fantastic journey full of informationThis was a fantastic tour with so much information, not just linked to the war. There are not as many sites to see, but the guide provides you with lots of information and you learn so much.Written September 25, 2024

The tour is very informative and our tour guide (Luke) was really good at gauging the energy of the group. He was a great story teller and answered questions in an engaging manner. I was there with a friend from abroad, and even though I live in Warsaw, I also learned a couple of things.

Loved the tour of historic Warsaw with our guide Olivia. She was very funny and knowledgeable. Olivia made the tour very relatable, with lots anecdotes and facts about the city mixed with a hefty dose of dry humor.

Time and money well spent- our guide was super knowledgeable about the history and nuances of Poland and Warsaw. Learned so much about the history and politics of the country through the places and memorials we passed during our tour. I would highly recommend to any visitors to Warsaw.

Our tour was terrific. 2.5 hours and in August (it was hot!) but our guide always found us shady spots, many with seating, so we could listen to him in comfort. Such great stories told with humor and cultural sensitivity. His English was perfect (he taught languages at University). This is a great tour and I highly recommend doing this on your first day in Warsaw to get a feel for the city.

Our guide (an older guy who’s name I don’t know) was very knowledgeable about the history of Warsaw. However, despite my deep interest in history, the tour was quite boring for me. The guide never made eye contact (he kept looking down), and talked in a very monotonous voice. There was nothing engaging in the way he lead the tour, so I lost interest quite quickly.

Lucas was our tour guide. We landed for our tour and it had to be split in two due to numbers. The man is a born story teller. His passion for his city is beautiful, his jokes and way of describing his city immediately gets the group onside. His swagger reminds me of puss in boots from Shrek!

The Old Town Warsaw walking tour was really GREAT! The guide (Jacek) was extremely qualified on the history of the different places we visited and he managed to share the info in a very nice and entertaining way. The 2 hours and something simply flew away... strongly recommended!!

I recently took the Old Town Warsaw Walking Tour and it was an excellent experience. The tour lasted for 2.5 hours and the guide's English was perfect, making it easy to understand all the information being shared.
We visited all the main places in the old town and the guide provided us with an abundance of interesting facts about each location. It was great to learn so much about the city's history and architecture, and I gained a new appreciation for Warsaw's culture.

Lukasz was the most amazing tour guide! He was funny and animated and had so many amazing stories to tell about the history of Warsaw. Our kids said that he was the best tour guide. We loved every minute of this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Warsaw.

The tour was informative and gave me a good overview of the history and architecture of the city. The guide offered good tips to further explore the city and did not attempt to direct us to specific shops or cafes. He used a lot of humor that I didn't find funny.
