- John C0 contributionsA beautiful day in the countrysideWe were lucky enough to have Marcin as our tour guide today. He wasour guide the day before for wolfs lair. He is friendly professional, extremely knowledgeable on history and truly made our day a great experience. It was a nice relaxing day in the countryside walking through the open air museum seeing how a small villages starting in the 18th century lived and how they supported the aristocrats of Poland was a beautiful park And Palace of the family that was landowners of these villages. We had an amazing lunch in a beautiful setting for me was a great experiencing the smaller towns different settings than just the major cities.Written September 18, 2024
- John C0 contributionsWolf’s Lair a mus for history buffsWe were picked up at our hotel by Marcin He was very friendly, professional, and accommodated any needs that we had during our trip with him. He also very informative on history and made our trip very enjoyable. We arrived at Wolf slayer was amazed how big and detailed this bunker was and learn history history that I was not aware of so this is a must for people that are interested in World War II history and Polish history and how Poland was affected. Went for a delicious lunch one of my favorite meals that I had so far in Poland. And our last stop was a beautiful church with the most incredible ornate organ that I have ever seen. Hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Marcin as your tour guide he definitely enhanced our experience.Written September 18, 2024

- Patti S0 contributionsIf you only do one tour while in Warsaw, make it this one.So pleased with my 4-hour private tour of Warsaw with Marcin. After taking an initial tour of the city with another company, that promised to cover the history of the Jewish ghettos and uprising, I found myself left wanting something more in-depth. I got it with this tour. This tour specifically covered Warsaw’s Jewish heritage, from pre-war times to present, with a focus on visiting sites of interest and hearing about the city’s history from WW2. Marcin was a fantastic and very personable host, and his knowledge of the history of Warsaw was incredible. This gentleman is very passionate about what he does and it shows. I couldn’t have asked for a better tour and would highly recommend it. Thanks again!Written September 17, 2024
- kristink9220 contributionsKnowledgeable Guide! My tour guide was Konrad, and he was amazing. I am very knowledgeable about Communism and post-Soviet countries, and Konrad and I could have a great detailed discussion about the topic. I really enjoyed my time and learning the Polish history. I absolutely recommend.Written September 17, 2024
- 376kenf0 contributionsKonrad is the best!Konrad was excellent. He narrated the tour with the sincerity that showed his deep appreciation for Polish Jewish heritage. He also was able to joke with us and made the tour enjoyable and personal. My wife and I loved Konrad and the fascinating tour. Highly recommend!Written September 12, 2024
- B1955HFanthonyj0 contributionsPhenomenal TourMy wife and I were in Warsaw for only a couple of days so booked this experience to see the city (quickly). Our host, Hania, did a phenomenal job of showing us important parts of the city and giving us critical historical nuances that influenced the sites we were seeing - both from a fact-driven perspective and storytelling - both important in giving an accurate depiction of what led to contemporary life in Warsaw (Which we loved and would easily come back). Hania was fun to talk to and answered our varied questions about Warsaw and Poland, giving us a unique view into this rich culture - and after she learned about our admiration for the renowned filmmaker Krzysztof Kieślowski, she included a stop at the cemetery where he was buried. Would absolutely recommend this tour and would do it again for another city when back in Poland. It felt like we packed in a week’s worth of sites one one tour, but didn’t feel overwhelmed.Written September 9, 2024
- albertrD2789CN0 contributionsA bigger picture (31st August)Cool guide and very interesting insights into the Warszawa-District "Praga" which I wouldn't have visited otherwise I guess. It contributed to a bigger picture of this interesting European city.Written September 2, 2024

- Adventure309655697750 contributionsWarsaw City Experience - Retro carDecided to book this trip for our first full day in Warsaw. Stepping in the car was like being transported back to the 1970's, only open windows for air conditioning on this hot day. The brown vinyl seats certainly not the last word in comfort but this was part of the charm of the vehicle. Hania was a great tour guide, we stopped off at a range of locations including Palace on the Isle, national stadium where Taylor Swift was playing and the old town. Picked up and dropped off at our hotel with the 4 hour tour concluding with a shot of vodka. Highly recommended.Written August 29, 2024
- CMJTBS0 contributionsWarsaw Tour in Fiat Polski carsMy family and I visited Warsaw for the second time in 12 months and both times really enjoyed ourselves. So much to see and do. However, the highlight was driving a couple of retro Fiat cars around the city. When were booking and organising the tours Patrycja was so helpful, whilst Karol our guide was very knowledgeable and good company, not to mention an expert photographer! Also, actually being able to drive the iconic cars was such fun. The two and a half hour tour whizzed by yet we saw so much and learnt a lot about the history of the city. Definitely do another driving tour in the future.Written August 27, 2024
- Dániel S0 contributionsGreat experience, outstanding guide! It was my childhood dream to drive a Fiat 126p, so maybe my review not gonna be so objective 😄 Even though we were a bit late and stressed when we arrived, Karol helped us to calm down and showed us where can we store our bags. (In side the Palace of Culture and Science there is a Post office on the ground floor, right next to it you can find lockers.) Back to the tour: Karol showed both of us how to handle the car, and made sure that we can safely operate it in the traffic. He knows the little car well and could answer my super specific and freaky questions as well. Our guide was obviously really passionate about the city and its history, and didn’t felt like he just learned it from a textbook. The whole tour was more like a friendly conversation, where we got informations and background stories about what we were interested in. It was the highlight of our stay, I want to thank for the opportunity and the effort to preserve this iconic little cars, and especially for Karol that he made this tour unforgettable!Written August 27, 2024
- mikewW9598YS0 contributionsGreat historical afternoon in WarsawThis actually happened a few years ago. But, i forgot to review.. This was a great tour and experience my wife and I had. The car was just part of it. But the guide was a history expert and took us to places that are not part of the standard tours in Warsaw.. I highly recommend this if you get a chance when visiting Warsaw.Written August 19, 2024
- CindyP9810 contributionsGreat experience. Knowledge Guide. Great Customer ServiceThis was an amazing experience. The only way to see the Warsaw Ghetto in its entirety is with a tour, as the places of interest and monuments are very spread out. My guide was thoughtful, knowledgeable and a lot of fun. I had a lot of questions and he answered them all. The Fiat is a blast and a real head turner. Most importantly is the way you are treated. This company was amazing. Initially I booked the morning tour. When she sent a message saying the morning tour was booked, I replied that I didn’t know Warsaw and needed to be to the Taylor Swift concert on time. They dropped me off at the Stadium!!Written August 17, 2024

Martin was an excellent tour guide providing a rich and deep, and entertaining commentary. We did the Chopin gardens and museum and house. But the tour to the forest and the ethnographic village was a great contrast to the city. Serene, but also good to understand the disparity in circumstances between the regional and city lives. Martin was very open to exploring and matching the experience with our interests. And the lunch was wonderful in a tiny village restaurant with excellent local food.

I thought this was just about the best tour I have ever been on! Martin did an amazing job of talking to us during the whole trip about many aspects of Poland beyond the Chopin story itself. I really appreciated the insight into Poland’s history and conflicts and people and life-style! I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

A memorable tour to Fryderyk Chopin's roots, on a sunny day in August. Our tour guide and driver was Martin, who did a great job all the way. He was also highly enjoyable company on the ride from and back to Warsaw, sharing many interesting details about Poland and its people.
Arriving in Żelazowa Wola, after a comfortable 45-minute drive from Warsaw, we started off in the museum with a movie about Chopin’s life. Subsequently followed by a stroll through the beautiful surrounding park. We made a brief stop outside Chopin’s place of birth, the manor house, where a wonderful piano concert was taking place. Soon we were transported to the village of Brochów, to visit the church where Chopin was baptised. Coming back to the park, limited time was left for the manor house interior and its exhibited artifacts.
All in all a great experience, though the available time to spend in the park and inside the manor house is too short. Perhaps the 30-minute movie in the museum could be optional. With that leaving more time for the park and manor house - and for that shot of Polish vodka that now fell in between ;-)

This was an excellent experience. Marcin was a fantastic guide! He was really very knowledgeable in the history of Poland, which provided a great deal of context regarding Chopin’s life. This tour wasn’t just a glimpse into the great Polish composer’s life, but also a glimpse into Poland as a country. I truly enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it. Thank you Marcin Hilgier and Viator!

The guide Hilgier was awesome. He knew a Lot of stuff and was very kind and helpful. He even got us tickets for a concert in the city.
The only thing that could be improved was the fact, that it felt a bit rushed.
