- aleb7860 contributionsBest self drive your ever. The best tour i ever had in a foreign capital town. KONRAD was really polite and professional, he showed us many fascinating places in Warsaw and told us a lot about the socio-political reality of Warsaw in the communist times. Really the best tour guide I ever met. I already had a tour with him last year and this year I asked to have him as a guide again, but we explored a different part of town. I had a great tour of the city in a historic vehicle that was very small and very funny. The guide was very friendly, competent and entertaining. He told us lots of interesting facts and stories about the city that I would never have known otherwise. The tour was a real highlight of my visit and I can recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the city from a different perspective. It was a great ride!

Who says history has to be stale? I had a blast tooling around Warsaw in a vintage Fiat from the 1980's with Konrad.
Looking at some of those poorly designed Communist buildings while driving in a car from the era with a similar reputation (FIAT = Fix It Again, Tony) is more than a gimmick. It reminds you how things were not that long ago.
Konrad was perfect for this role. He is knowledgeable, he is a good driver and he is adventurous. When we were in the plaza of the former Communist Party building (the "Party House"), a throng of extras working on a film nearby filed into a queue to get a free lunch inside. We wanted to see the inside so we lined up and got a chance to see the interior of a building that would normally be closed on a Sunday. Then we hopped back into the Fiat for more adventures.
I had just arrived in Poland from the U.S. and I had a suitcase of warm clothes to donate to Ukrainian refugees. We dropped it off at the volunteer station at the train station, which was right by the Palace of Culture, the first stop on our tour. Konrad also got the address for an evening activity on my schedule that I could not locate.
Jenky, comrades!

The private tour with Karol who has a history degree and is pursuing a PhD was incredibly insightful. I thoroughly appreciated his professionalism and extensive knowledge that he used to draw connections to how the architecture and propaganda were used by Communists to manipulate the public was invaluable. Also, the ability to ride in a car built during Communist times (1977) during the tour also added to the experience.

My 18 year old son and I had an excellent and fascinating tour with Pavel, our guide. He was passionate and went out of his way to show us all the sites he knew we would particularly enjoy. He was skilled and experienced and his knowledge was endless. He took us to an original “milk bar” introduced us to Polish cuisine and skilfully sped us round the sights and neighbourhoods of Warsaw whilst commenting and adding interesting anecdotes. It was a fun and different way to see the city in the vintage Fiat and the vodka tipple at the end was the icing on the cake.

We really enjoyed our Private Communist History Tour of Warsaw. Our guide Olga was brilliant. Very knowledgeable and very patient in answering all our questions. Not only did we receive a lot of information about what life was like in Communist Warsaw but we also received a great tour of the city. We also mentioned the boys wanted to buy football jerseys and Olga even drove us to Legia Warsawa’s stadium. The little treat at the end of the tour was also very welcome. I strongly recommend doing this tour if you want to learn about this fantastic city as it existed under the Communists.

I did a special father-daughter trip to Poland from the USA and we had the best guide ever named Marcin Hilgier. Extremely informative, knowledgeable, friendly and upbeat. He provided such useful and insightful information, especially with this terrible war going on now it was really interesting to get the perspective on this. My dad is an experienced international traveler unlike me and he said Marcin was one of the best tour guides he has ever spent time with. We highly recommend him!

As we drove around Warsaw, the smiles on the locals faces as they saw the FIAT was something. I enjoyed the tour and how the Soviet occupation following the impacted the tour guide's life. The shot of Vodka which ended the tour was a treat. Not the regular Vodka. I was not disappointed.

What an experience to get a real sense for the beautiful city of Warsaw and her history. Karol was great! Very knowledgeable and pointed out all of the best spots to see the monuments of the Soviet era (along with some other important locations). He even personalized the tour a little bit to better suite my interests. I would highly recommend!

Hello! Can you deviate at all from the itinerary? For example: We would like to go to the Palace of Science and Culture, go to the observation tower there, and we would like to go to the Neon Museum, and a milk bar for dinner and anything we can fit in after that that will show us the city in the evening. Is that possible?

Hello,
Would you be able to pick the time you would like to take this tour as it states that it runs every hour, or would the time be given at the time we book the tour?

You pick your time. Very accommodating people. They pick you up and drop you off, too.

We have two teenagers, ages 17 and 14. Would they be able to come along? How do we reserve a spot for them to come with us (two adult parents)?
