Itinerary
- 1After roughly 2.5 hours on the road join a guided tour of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau sites. Enter the Auschwitz I compound through the gates inscribed with ‘Arbeit macht frei’ or ‘work sets one free'. Explore the main buildings — some still intact and some in ruins — and walk around the exhibitions that chart the fates of many of those detained here. View the dormitories and gas chambers, and see the factory areas where prisoners were forced to make munitions and other products for Germany’s war efforts. While the facts of what happened here are shocking and distressing, your guide will explain everything in the most sensitive way possible. After viewing Auschwitz I, take a short break to collect your thoughts and then visit nearby Auschwitz II-Birkenau. Here, see what remains of the watchtowers, fences and barracks as you hear about the appalling conditions endured by those held here. .

- dianelL8976UI0 contributionsFascinating and convenient tripExcellent trip, both are difficult to get to on your own and this made it doable. Good to see in person and added an interesting historical context to our trip to Poland, especially for a short break. Driver was helpful and organised everythingWritten December 30, 2024

- E9598OEsharons0 contributionsThird Reich and World War 11 a must do tourThe tour was excellent. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate. He walked us around key sites giving excellent and easy to follow information. Anyone with any interest in the Third Reich, the Holocaust and what happened in the former Breslau should do this tour. We were also given excellent information about the end of the war and the changed map of Europe to change Breslau to Wroclaw -a Polish city. Highly recommendedWritten September 5, 2024
- jdog13350 contributionsInteresting Tour exploring Wroclaw and its place in the Thrid ReichThe tour was very comprehensive and gave a good overview of Wroclaw and its evolution from a German to Polish city. Guide was very knowledgeable and willing to answer all of our questions. He gets bonus points for finding dry places to talk as we got caught in a thunderstorm. Only complaint was his assumption that we knew nothing about WW2 and the Nazi rise to power. He spent a great deal of time on that but for some people that would be necessary.Written August 1, 2024

- Kittydepuss0 contributionsA super fun way to see Wroclaw with lots of laughs and insider information along the way!We decided to pre-book this experience while at home in the UK...And we are so glad we did! Our booking was for our first morning in Wroclaw having arrived the previous evening. Using Google maps we located the meeting point and met our guide who gave us our safety briefing and introduced the group to our dinky 3 wheeled scooters. The scooters are super easy to control and fun to ride. We all had radio headsets to wear so we could hear what our guide was saying throughout the tour. I wear two hearing aids that have bluetooth capability but unfortunately the headsets provided were not bluetooth enabled. I sort of managed to position the headset so that I could pick up some of what was saying, it wasn't ideal but did not suffer too much as our guide was aware of the issue and made extra efforts to ensure that I didn't miss out too much. We set off on a whistle stop tour of the city stopping briefly at historical and interesting locations around the city where our guide shared his extensive local knowledge of history, culture, and life in Wroclaw. There was time to take photographs and ask any questions. The whole tour took two hours but we were having so much fun the time passed so quickly. This experience is the perfect way to see the city highlights and helped us to take note of places that we wanted to explore further during the week of our stay. I would recommend it to anyone as a fantastic way to see the city and gain insider information. The scooter tour was one of the highlights of our trip and we had lots of laughs along the way. I am returning to Wroclaw this autumn with another friend and we will be booking this tour again.Written April 10, 2024
- GrandTour354985268830 contributionsTrip to WWII history in SilesiaI would recommend this tour for anyone interested in WWII history in this part of Silesia. It is quite a distance from Wroclaw to the the remote Riese underground sites and another longish trip to Gross Rosen so if you only have a short visiting period a car pick up and drop off is a good way to see a lot in the day. The driver was very efficient and very safety conscious, he sorted the tickets and access at both sites (then waiting in the car), the car was really comfortable and there was no pressure to rush in and out of the sites. It might seem a bit expensive but you are never likely to see these unique sites any other way in a weekend trip.Written March 15, 2024
- Culture120245593930 contributionsFab scooter tourThe meet up place is on a cobbled street, if you haven’t ridden a scooter like these before is isn’t the best place to learn , not easy to steer, but after a 10mins learning is was great 👍 would definitely use againWritten March 2, 2024

- MisJudge0 contributionsWould highly recommend Michel and his tours 10/10We had a super 2 days with Michel. On day one we did the WW2 tour to Project Riese and Gross Rosen museum. We were collected on time at 9am, in a very comfortable vehicle, and from the outset, Michel was extremely knowledgeable and imparted the information in a very interesting way. He is a great conversationalist and really makes an effort to chat and talk to his customers. He is intelligent and up to date on current matters as well as historical, we found him so interesting. The tour was grim but great- we should never forget the horror of this time. The mystery of what the Nazis were up to with Project Riese is intriguing. The following day Michel met us for a walking tour of the city and again he was exceptional in his recalling and explanation of the history of that time, and in general. We enjoyed our time in his company and would highly recommend him to all.Written January 25, 2024

- darrenjZ3137EK0 contributionsFantastic tour of the cityThis is an essential for any visitor of Wroclaw. I learnt so much and was fascinated throughout. Firstly, the guide is brilliant. So passionate and knowledgeable on all aspects of history (he even quoted the window tax in England that was in operation in the past. The majority of English people don't even know about that!). It is clear that he is so proud of his city and he has such an engaging and friendly style that you will be enthralled. The e-scooter is relatively easy to operate and is a great way to see all the delights that Wroclaw has to offer. This has absolutely made my trip. A truly wonderful experience and worth every penny.Written August 28, 2023

We liked hearing so much about the history of Wrocław and particularly the many beautiful buildings. Was great to do on first arriving as it gave us a good overview and inspired us to see moreWritten June 21, 2023

Deze plek moet je eens in je leven bezocht hebben, om te begrijpen wat nationalisme en racisme voor verschrikkelijke dingen teweeg kunnen brengen.
