About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- O1848FWsharons0 contributionsAmazing serviceWell from start to finish we booked with Michael K amazing service the driver picked us up on time and right outside our hotel, the day before we received a message to confirm we are still interested as yet we have not parted with any money so trust is on both sides, night before we received a text asking if we would like a packed luck, great value for money and very nice. Picked up on the dot when we arrived the tour guild was amazing and very knowledgeable, a very good organised trip and service from start to finishWritten October 9, 2024
- Cruiser288063905320 contributionsExcellently planned trip, very moving experience. From booking through to dropping us off at the end of the day, this trip was excellently planned. We were picked up on time by our friendly driver Zibi who texted the evening before confirming pick up time. He was knowledgeable about the area and showed us some sights on the way to Auschwitz. It was seamless. On our arrival there, Zibi sorted our tickets and introduced us to our tour guide Kamil who again, was very knowledgeable and very sensitive about the topic. It was a moving and unforgettable day. Zibi was waiting for us after our Auschwitz tour and we had a short break for lunch before he dropped us off at Birkenau where Kamil met us again. My only suggestion would be that for the second part of the tour in Birkenau, it would be great if we could have had the headsets that we had in Auschwitz as struggled to hear Kamil at times without it. I would certainly recommend this trip and this tour operator.Written September 23, 2024
- Kazherbie0 contributionsHarrowing but worthwhile trip, when in KrakowFrom beginning to end superbly organised trip. We even got a message asking if we wanted to order lunch boxes as time in between camps was very limited, expensive and it was an early start. In the end we decided to take our own snacks but really appreciated the advice. Guides were good and knowledgeable. It was surprising how busy it was but we still managed to hear everything our guide had to tell us and the tours all flowed well around each other. You can go on to do a tour of the salt mines but we decided to do this on a different day, which I was glad we did but if you are short on time it’s not a problem to do both in one day, we just chose not to, as we weren’t sure how we would feel after such an emotional trip.Written September 20, 2024
- emrecanay0 contributionsFast and funIt was very good to combine the two tours in order to save time. The staff and guide were very polite and knowledgeable. If you have little time and want to see these 2 places quickly, this is what you need to do.Written September 13, 2024

- jessicanQ3909ED0 contributionsAuschwitz, Salt mine, shooting rangeBooking with Michal you get 5 star service, I booked through Facebook, didn’t pay anything until the day. Got messages the day before confirming exact pick up time. Communication was excellent, we opted for packed lunch and so glad we did this was so tasty and you get so much for your money. We did 3 trips over 3 days and had the same driver for all he was amazing so friendly and helpful and waited at each trip for us to bring us back home. I would not book with anybody else. Thank you so muchWritten July 20, 2024

- 330petew0 contributionsFor me it was all about history and foodKrakow is a must-see If you are in Poland. There are so many sights to see, both historic and modern. The food scene is top notch and if you are into bars and nightlife, there is plenty to offer. Some sights too see: Old town Square, Wawel Hill, River Cruise, Food Tour, Pub Crawl. Definitely do a day trip to thr salt mine and Auschwitz.Written June 25, 2024
- Cpicchi0 contributionsGreat tour guideWould really recommend Michal, we found him on Facebook and he messaged us straight back. Arranged the trip and gave us a rough pick up time but would be confirmed the day before. We were picked up at 7.10am by Lukas on an air-conditioned mini bus, he was really friendly and spoke good English. The day before we were given the option of buying a packed lunch from them which was well needed and a good idea. We had a guided tour with a very knowledgeable guide. I was worried about pick up due to other companies having unreliable reviews but would highly recommend Michal KR cannot fault him.Written June 21, 2024

Would throughly recommend this trip. Very good comms prior to the trip especially given that we booked on the Saturday for the very next day.
We found the driver very pleasant, very prompt and the drive was very comfortable and we felt safe in his hands.
The itinerary was packed but well organised. The guides were very knowledgable.
Once confirmed, you will get an email or text to say that a lunch pack can be purchased for an extra 40PLN each.
We found this really good value. We got a substantial lunch which we snacked in during the day.
We would recommend the lunch packs as you get limited time for breaks but there are lots of toilets enroute and opportunities to visit them if required.

The driver kept us well up to date with pick up times and instructions for entry etc. We paid for the ready packed lunch which was well worth it as you don’t get much time for queuing for food.
The guide was exceptional. He was extremely knowledgeable and empathetic throughout the Auschwitz and Birkenau tour. This experience was somber to say the least, upsetting for sure. Arriving at Birkenau and seeing the size of the camp was a shock.
The transfer to the salt mines was a long way but worth the journey. Again we had a great guide who had a good sense of humour. We would definitely recommend this company, from start to finish the communication was brilliant and every part of it was hassle free.

We went first of all to Auschwicz for 3 hours. The time passed by so quickly it was so interesting and my 9 year old niece was listening and learning as she will do world war 2 shortly. The guide was excellent and gave so many interesting facts and it was never harshly put. We then moved on to Auschwicz 2. In the afternoon we moved on to the salt mines and at the deepest point went 450 feet down. This was amazing to see figures carved out of salt. On our way back we were told the lift holds 36 people. It raises so 4 levels of 9 people are put into the cramped lift so if you are claustrophobic don't do the lift!
This was an 11 hour tour but time passed quickly and we slept well that night.

Only just back from a long day .the best way to describe AUSCHWITZ is HUMBLING if this tour doesn't touch your heart there is something wrong with you. The salt mines were fantastic well worth the stairs . Out tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly our driver (Michael) was extremely polite and very helpful (good luck on becoming a guide you will be excellent at it) couldn't fault Krakow direct tours .

Booked a group tour for Auschwitz and the Salt Mines, really clear communication via WhatsApp with Michal who booked everything in advance and gave us our exact pick up and drop of times.
On the day our driver Daniel was really friendly and made us all feel safe and told us exactly how the day would work and where you could find him in between visits if we needed him.
Really good trips as Auschwitz is a must see and the Salt Mine is amazing so it was really nice to book with a company who took care of everything and even gave us a very varied packed lunch at a good price.
Would highly recommend this company as it was stress free and efficient, make sure to bring comfortable/walking shoes as you will be doing lots of walking on the day!

Great experience, well organised and would definitely recommend. We got picked up at our hotel at 7am by Łukasz who had already text the day before to confirm our booking and the details. We were part of an English group with 8 of us in the minibus in total and joined another group for the tours. The minibus was well air-conditioned and comfortable and we were able to leave our belongings on there if needed. The journey to Auschwitz was just over an hour with a 5 minute drive to Birkenau. After this was an hours drive to the salt mines and then 30 minutes back to our hotel. There was plenty of time at both locations to see and do everything - the tours were very informative and the guides did a great job. Łukasz offered us a packed lunch for 50 pln each which we decided to take just in case there wasn’t time for food as it was a long day. There was a few opportunities for food but we’re glad we chose the packed lunch as this reduced the stress of queuing and having time to eat. We got dropped back at our hotel at about 6pm.
Would definitely book again with this company if we were to visit Krakow in the future.

We always take a bike tour when we visit a new city as it is a great way to see the major sites and decide what we would like to recommend-visit. We loved this tour! We highly recommend it. Our tour guide gave us information about places, especially when one church had great sun in their stained glass windows so you could really appreciate the detail, that helped us choose places to visit later in our stay. Little things like this are the reason bike tours are so great! Thanks Tom!

Expertly organised cultural and historic trip. Organised transport arrived exactly when they said with the driver being very friendly and helpful. Tour guide at Auschwitz was passionate and deeply informative. Tour guide at the Salt Mine was great also! just make sure you have Whatsapp downloaded as transport driver will contact you through that to organise food (at additional cost). We brought our own food however from seeing other customers lunches, i’d say it was worth the price.

We were a group of 12, made up of three families. We had our own Mercedes minibus to ourselves and Piotr was our driver.
Our driver was super courteous and friendly.
Auschwitz was harrowing. You cannot believe the scale and numbers involved. Very thought provoking and an absolute must visit place to make you appreciate what atrocities were carried out here. We then visited Birkenau.
Once we were back in the minibus we headed to the Salt Mines.
Totally different to our visit to Auschwitz and definitely not so emotionally draining.
Amazing sights and so well preserved. It is like a completely different world underground. Fabulous sculptures and pictures created from the salt. The lift experience to get you to the top is fun!

The whole experience was unforgettable. Going to Auschwitz and the Salt Mine is a MUST, I initially had my doubts about the Salt Mine but I was so wrong it was fantastic and VERY unpredictable. Our guide Łukasz was great, he picked my party up ay 7:05 and then the other parties. We arrived everywhere on time, he explained everything perfectly so you were not confused about anything. He provided packed lunches if you confirmed you wanted them the night before, lunches were only 50zł, so inexpensive. Overall, I would do this again just to relive and learn some more because there was just so much, it was an experience I will not forget.
(Also, I did not take any photos as we came to pay our respects, so please just accept my word it was truly worth it, Please go if you ever get the opportunity.)

Is this a coach or a mini bus? Just wondering how large the group is and if there is lots of pick up and drop off points
Written December 13, 2022
It's a minibus and there were around 15 people on the tour. There were a few pick up points at different hotels around Central krakow and an early start at 7.30am for our pick up which was the earliest one. Very well organised.

I'm looking for a day tour from Krakow to Auschwitz and the Salt Mines. I'm travelling alone and am having trouble booking myself on to a tour. Why is this? Surely there are plenty of solo travellers who would want to do these day tours.
Written August 6, 2020
We booked a day trip to both on here. It was March when we went, we where amongst the last to visit, asthey closed Auschwitz and other tourist sites.
Have they been reopened yet?

How much for a private car and guide for 2
people?
Written January 28, 2020
Hi, we booked with Krakow Direct. It worked out about £76 per person for the transport, the guided tour of Auschwitz/Birkenau, the Salt mines guided tour and also we booked a separate Segway tour of the Old Town. We were part of a group of 12(3 families) Hope this helps.

I suffer with clostrophobia so I want to know are the salt mines suitable for me? .
Written January 16, 2020
The Salt Mines are VAST and jaw droppingly cathedral like so I guess your claustrophobia would have to be pretty bad for it to affect you. We descended via a seemingly endless staircase, toured the older parts of the mine and you end up at the museum part that has a huge restaurant - far better than the rubbish snack places outside. If you are on a bus tour you will not have a chance to use this restaurant. You exit the mine via a modern large lift. This is the entrance if you are just going to the museum and wedding venue - yes people get married in the mines.
Written January 27, 2020
I personally wouldn't take a baby. The camps are very exposed and the ground uneven. The Salt mines are accessed by stairs so unless you have a harness I wouldn't recommend that either.
Written January 27, 2020
Hi i would like to ask about the difference between the tours that said "auschwitz-Bikernau Museum" and the tours that said "auschwitz-Bikernau Memorial".In the first one you only get to a museum that is in auschwitz without going any further to the buildings?
Thank you in advance
Written January 14, 2020
I think this may be a translation problem. Look for a tour that lasts all day. The Auschwitz/Birkenau and Salt Mine trip is 10 hours. The camp tour covers both camps and our tour bussed you the short distance between the two sites. Without the salt mine (don’t miss this) the camp tours are about 4/5 hours.
Written January 15, 2020
Does this tour include both camps?
And is it okay to bring our own snacks?
Written January 14, 2020
Yes, it does include both camps. We went on a day when they had to change the order we visited the camps around but yes, still both.
Snacks are a good idea for the bus as it is a long journey from the centre.
