A very interesting once in a lifetime experience.
I attended this tour with my family, it was incredibly haunting as well as interesting. The tour guide was very helpful and explained everything very clearly. If you’re on the fence about going, I’d say it’s 100% worth going to, it truly is a once in a lifetime experience.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Live Guided Tour with Transportation
As two of Jehovah's Witnesses, my wife and I visited Auschwitz to pay respect to what our fellow witnesses endured in the German camps during WW11. As a group Jehovah's Witnesses were classified as "Purple Triangles" as that is what they wore on their clothing. Our guide was knowledgeable and empathetic. She explained clearly that Jehovah's Witnesses were the only prisoners that had a choice regarding their stay in these camps. All they had to do was salute "Heil Hitler" and sign an allegiance document to the Nazi Regime. And they would be released. However, all Jehovah's Witnesses on earth give their allegiance to Jehovah God's government. They are law abiding citizens and respect governmental laws... Unless these laws conflict with bible principles. The Nazi government rulership was against the laws of the bible. The chief biblical law being... "Love your neighbor" And every human on earth is our neighbor, so Jehovah's Witnesses would not take up arms and kill another person. They had a fine reputation in the camps, and were used as chefs, child minders, hairdressers, and similar tasks that they could be trusted with. Our guide made this clear and it made us cry, when we saw the atrocities, they were put through. Her commentary was very similar to the articles we have read on the official JW.ORG website. It was so good to hear from an outside independent source the loyalty of our brothers and sisters in the camps. Thank you, Kind regards Les and Donna

        History in the present
If like me you wanted to go to pay respects to all and also gain knowledge it's all here , I can't express the feeling of sadness that fills the air , definitely do not want this happening again ever should never had happened in the first place, as long as there is people like myself and others who speak up then the lost will never be silenced

        Best value for money
This was a really worthwhile activity. It’s a very long day and can be hard on the feet, but so worth it. The tour ran really smoothly once we got picked up. I will say it was confusing getting picked up from the Wielopole location as there are lots of other buses picking up people and you’re not sure which is yours as none have any signage on the buses or signs. We had to listen closely in a huge crowd of people for the drivers to call out the names of participants from each tour. This will be hard for anything hard of hearing. However once we were on the bus it was fantastic. In our tour we did the salt mines first, we then had lunch and then went to Auschwitz and birkenau. It would’ve been better to do the part of the trip that’s in the full sun early, however it was still really good. Well worth the money and well worth the full day

        Respectful and educational tour
Amazing tour with a knowledge guide who set a good pace and provided a great deal of information. While being informative the tour was respectful for the tragic events that haunt the museum. The guide also had stories about the local countryside that added a flavor of local culture on the way back.

        Good tour, VERY overpriced
The tour itself was good, as well as the driver. However it was very overpriced at 355złoty (£71) for hotel pickup plus a “lunch box”. As with other Krakow day tours I was informed of an updated pickup time within 24 hours of departure. The hotel pickup was fine but it took a long time to go around different hotels in the old town and then to arrive at a pickup point right outside of the old town where we got on another van. I imagined it would be time efficient (and probably more economical) to an option to join at that pickup location. On the return trip I did not even get the option to go back to my hotel as the driver could not drive into the old town. The “lunch box” was a ripoff and a lesson worth £12. It was a tiny bag of one sandwich, one supermarket croissant, one orange, one bottle of water and a few random sweets. I felt hungry very soon and anyone could get more food in London with this money. Very disappointed. The tour itself does not cover the museum. I was picked up at 7:50am and got back to the drop off point outside of old town by noon. I imagine if the tour wasn’t scheduled for only half a day it would be nice to see the museum too. Not the worst experience but if I visit the salt mine again I am definitely going there by myself.

        Disappointed
The Tour guide/driver was very helpful, but the tour of Auschwitz/Bireknau was extremely disappointing. No time to absorb anything as rushed through with other big groups. It was just Iike visiting a war museum but with less information and authenticity, just like seeing s ruins but not being able to venture inside. Waited years to do this, but total let down. Unfortunately would not recommend doing this tour.

An important & must-do tour, even if it’s the only one you do
I write a fair few high-rated reviews, you will notice. For context..I take things for what they are based on price, what’s advertised & my direct experience in line with that. I’m not a demanding traveller, but will acknowledge where things were not as promised or expected in line with the info presented. Now that’s out of the way! This tour was arranged for me by a Journee, a surprise destination company (I thoroughly recommend) with Krakow Direct. First off, the communication with the company was fantastic (confirmation the day before), the bus turned up on time, the driver/guide was really friendly & kept us informed. On the way, we watched a harrowing documentary about Aushwwitz , which really gets you prepared and into the mindset of what you are going to see and hear about. This is a hard, sombre & harrowing day, do not expect anything less. There are the two sites to visit. Please dress respectfully where possible, of course you are not allowed to take selfies (who would?!), and note that you cannot eat. For this trip, bring a packed lunch and there are no lunch stops (you can eat in between the two sites on the coach). At Auschwitz we had a dedicated tour guide, who is very informative and keeps things moving. There are very very many visitors and they manage to keep it flowing. It was 37 degrees the day I visited & they did their best with fans inside the buildings but outside (you spend a lot of time outside) it’s up to you to bring a hat/umbrella. What you do remember is that those poor souls were here with no protection from any of the weather. That is a leveller for any discomfort you may feel. Toilets are available before you enter and when you leave only. Please also note that the day is a lot of walking & many steps - good to know for those with mobility issues. I won’t go into detail with what is inside these sites, all you need to know is that they are real and that they have information and displays within them to bring it all to life for you. I cried a lot that day. You then get back in your coach and drive maybe 10mins to Birkenau, there is a fair walk from the captain to the site. At the Caspar there are toilets, refreshments including food & a souvenir shop. Birkenau is almost exclusively outdoors. Our tour guide came with us From Auschwitz and paired with our driver who gave the guided tour this time around & did a fabulous job. It’s a long day, but very very important. I was exhausted by the time I got home and had an early night. If you do any tour in Krakow, please do this one.

We booked 3 tours with Krakow Direct and they were all brilliant. The tours were so well organised and the vehicles were really comfortable and clean. We had Karol for the Auschwitz-Birkenau tour and the shooting range and Pawel for the Wieliczka Salt Mines. Both guides were really friendly and informative. Upon arrival at the destination, the guide organised your tickets, tells you where to go and waits until the tour is over to take you back again, so you do get looked after! The shooting range is so much fun and is something you don’t get a chance to do back home so I would recommend this as it is something different! Absolutely loved Auschwitz and the Salt Mines too. The entire experience was amazing and we would definitely use them again when we return to Krakow.

We used this company for all of our transfers and excursions and I cannot fault the service.

All of our drivers were either on time or early and were all very polite and friendly. We used this company for our airport transfers, for our group trip to auschwitz and to our shooting range trip in which the driver escorted us inside and helped us set up what we wanted to shoot.

We in particular liked Peter who took us to the airport on the way home. It was like a mini sightseeing tour in itself and his knowledge and passion for krakow was incredible. He was a true gentlemen

We will definitely be back again and will always use this company - very highly
      recommend!

I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with your services again last week. I used your services in 2016 for two trips to Auschwitz and the Salt Mine and you were great. I would like to give a special mention for my trips last week to Zakopane (Wednesday 8th) and the Krakow Valley Shooting Range at Paczoltowice (Friday 10th). Mateusz and Piotr were fantastic. We had a great laugh and both of them were very knowledgeable. Piotr especially was great, we were very apprehensive before our trip to the shooting range and he put us at ease and we had such a laugh. Our trip with Lukusz to Auschwitz was also very good despite the Birkenau tour being halved because of the heat walking round.
      Congratulations on an excellent service!!
