    Guide made the tour.
Our guide really knew her history. I don’t think I would have learnt as much if I had just gone on my own. Also being told the history before Schindler took control of the factory was insightful as well.

    Grey rock salt
How Queen found rock salt. You have time to explore each of the area. A couple of breaks and the option for a meal in the deepest canteen in the world. I'd wear very sensible shoes as you do walk for miles

    Very good
Very good overall. Incredible to see! Only downside was the group was far too big that the guide had to manage. Half of the group couldn’t hear what she was saying.

Worth a visit if you’re in Krakow or the surrounding area.
This is a really interesting place to see if you are in the region. It’s a short drive from Krakow so easily accessible. We booked on through Trip Advisor while we were here and got on the trip the next day.

Don’t use Discover Cracow for this tour
I can highly recommend the salt mines however I would not book with this tour operator. They took us to the mines an hour before our tour began. Their own staff who greeted us at the mines couldn’t believe we were so early…”why are you here now?” was their response! Being left in the cold for an hour is not acceptable. Upon leaving, no clear time to return to the bus was given so there was a long wait to get back as visitors all arrived back at different times. I suggest you make your way there yourself. Tickets are 122pln per person for an English tour (about £25 each), very easy to buy and taxis are very cheap as well as good transport links. The mines are excellent - definitely go - but by going with a taxi you will save money and save time meaning you can enjoy Krakow more on your short stay. I would add - I contacted the tour operator, Discover Cracow, and they were not interested in offering any recompense for this despite saying they did fall short in their level of service.

Good tour we had an English tour guide who was very informative. We did a tour of the Jewish quarter first then we were dropped off at the Schindler factory.

    Really interesting
Museum was really good but did the guided tour, wish we didn’t although guide was full of information, guide took us into each room and talked got no time to look at exhibits and read the information and use the interactive tools. Would have been better if after talking and giving information she gave us couple of minutes before moving to next room . Recommend museum really good.

    Surrounded by salt!
Breathtaking caverns cathedral churches carvings, all as far underground as the Eiffel Tower is tall. Katrina was a brilliant, knowledgable guide who brought the experience to life. A must do when visiting Kracow!

    Unmissable experience
An incredible experience - you cannot come to Krakow and miss this! Amazing history and humbling Hunan effort - on such a massive scale. Beautifully preserved and presented.. Great guide and safety ensured throughout. Lots of steps but only down so easy to navigate. Unbelievable facilities even 135m down! Glad we were there in Feb as lack of crowds meant we could get the lift up with little queuing!

    An amazing experience
Heard about the salt mine but never imagined the vast size and depth of the mine when visiting. There are alot of stairs to walk down but the sights waiting for you are breathtaking. You can't begin to imagine how the miners coped in such situations,it is like a huge maze tunnels leading off into more tunnels.Would definitely recommend visiting.

    Harrowing but important
A very important and interesting guide. Although harrowing it was important to see and feel the surroundings and learn about what life was like in the camps

Whilst set in Oskar Schindler's old enamel factory this is not a museum about the factory. Instead it is one of the best war life museums I've seen, depicting war time Krakow and in particular the getto where the factory's jewish workforce lived. If you don't know the story of Oskar Schindler I recommend you read Thomas Keneally's 'Schindler's Ark' or watch Steven Spielberg's 'Schindler's List' before you visit and form your own view whether the jews that worked here were slaves or refugees.

The museum is very popular and was sold out on the Saturday afternoon we visited. On the advice of other reviewers we did not book an organised tour as it is better to take the museum at your own pace (about two hours for us) and work around the organised tours. The exhibits are in Polish and English with many artifacts in German obviously. We had bought a 3 day museum and public transport pass in advance (krakowcard.com) which includes this museum and allowed us to skip the line past the crowds of people trying unsuccessfully to get a ticket.

We decided to go directly to the museum to get information on entrance, tours etc. It was a little busy but not excessively. Joined the queue and a staff member wearing an “information” sign began screaming and shouting at people to move. Everyone complied. A few minutes later she came back shouting at people saying they couldn’t stand where she had initially moved them to. This pattern continues. Her tone was incredibly aggressive. These were a group of tourists benignly queueing to enter a museum, not a rowdy crowd. Many tried to ask her information about tickets, tours etc. she would not answer questions, instead continued roaring at people. No other staff members would make eye contact much less assist with information. We left at that point. Every single other tourist attraction we went to was so well organized and friendly. There are serious problems with staff at this particular attraction

Dear Guest, I am terribly sorry about the experience that you have encountered at the venue. We will pass your feedback and description of the situation to Schindler's Factory office. I am saddened that this event has prevented you to enter the venue and you could not visit the museum. Best regards,

Visited this museum in January expecting to spend just an hour looking around but ended up staying for over 3 hours! The exhibits were very interesting and well displayed. The museum tells the story of Kraków before, during and after the war in a very visual and informative way. We did not have a tour guide but found it very easy to navigate and the exhibits provided lots information. We didn't book tickets beforehand and did not have to queue but visited during the low season in January so it was very quiet. Definitely worth a visit.

We tried to book in advance but no tickets were available on the day. Instead we chanced our luck and turned up to see if we could get a normal entry ticket. We joined a queue and got in after about 45 minutes for just under £6 each. The film at the start sets the scene and we spent 2 hours inside, not reading everything! Absolute bargain and so well laid out. Good overall history of Krakow not just about Schindler.

I would highly recommend Schindlers factory tour, it takes you through the time proir to the German occupation to after their occupation.
Our tour guide was absolutely fantastic, she took her time to explain everything in detail, we progressed through the museum at a perfect pace, which allowed everyone the time to take in the information.
Highly recommended a visit.

First day in krakow and we decided to take a walk here to see if we could find it.
We purchased ti keys on the door and was allowed straight in (about £10 for 2).
It was interesting and lots to see - signs and film clips also in English.
I thought is would be more about Schindler and his life but it covered the whole Poland invasion and the impact that had on Krakow, explaining how life for the city changed overnight etc.
Really interesting but maybe not what I was expecting.
There was of course sections dedicated to Schindler too.

This museum is housed in the part of the factory that was the administration office. It covers much more than the factory as it goes through the history chronologically of the change as the war had its impact on Poland. We had not booked, we just purchased our ticket at the entrance.

There is an interesting video playing where people relate their actual experiences of working in the factory which is well worth watching.

Whilst you learn about Schindler and the factory it covers so much more.

You can get a tram here from central Krakow but we walked taking in the Jewish Quarter and lunch before getting here.

Would recommend going to this museum, but it wasn't exactly what we expected. We thought it would be more about Schindler's life and the Factory itself. However it is a great museum that covered past history of Poland. There is lots of information, in my opinion no need for a tour guide as everything is marked in English too.
I purchased the tickets online - I didn't know you can buy tickets on the day at the museum too (for cheaper...). We went to the museum with an escooter which made it a quicker journey there from Old Town. There are also lockers in the museum for your coats/bags.

The most distressing experience in my life. The exhibition is genius - lots of information but also vey visual. To be fair it' not for the most sensitive people ,I felt quite nauseous at times. But we can't just shut our eye- this happened and people need to be aware of this not to allow it to happen again. Qe spent 2.5 hours here and I sincerely hope that I will not have nightmares after - it was tough.

Firstly, booking in advance is a must! There were a lot of disappointed people queuing to find the tickets were sold out for the day. Its easy to do online.

The museum is vast with lots of information so make sure that you give yourself enough time. There are interactive parts throughout.

The museum was our favourite of our Krakow trip, highly recommended. Plenty of facilities, including a cafe and shop.
