We took this trip the first week in January . We were lucky with the weather it was sunny and above freezing but you shd wrap up well as much of it is outside and the second part is very open . There is a lot of walking and stairs and the trip moves at a fast pace so those with mobility issues would struggle ! We had two 20 min comfort breaks but this wasn’t enough time to go to the loo and get food or a drink . We ordered a packed lunch which was excellent . We ate it in 2 stages but we’re glad of it as those without were very hungry as we left the city at 730 and weren’t back till 230. This is a harrowing trip with no holds barred , you even go in one of the gas chambers which I found extremely disturbing but I guess that’s the point . Our guide was very knowledgeable and showed us the captive pictures of his grandfather and uncle so really personal . The minibus was clean and comfortable and the driver safe and proficient . We felt this trip was sensitively handled , informative and offered good value .

There was the luxury of being picked up from local destinations that were easily accessible however our pick-up time was delayed unbeknown to us so it would have been useful to have a contact number. Apart from this, the tour was fascinating and an appropriate length. The tour guide was emotive and gave everyone enough time to look around and gave clear instructions when necessary. Highly recommend.

Very thought provoking visit that you must do if you can. Contact and pick up was efficient with this company. It was a very early morning pick up but worth it as you miss the queues and it won’t feel as pressured around the site as the queues build up quickly as you are taken around with a guide and your own headset.

To be fair; the transport from city to camp and back was ok. And also de tour thru the camp, which was held by an official campguide so out off influence from the tour company, was very interesting. But my problem with the organized tour by Cracow Local Tours is that I have personally experienced that with other tour companies you receive a official camp booklet when leaving town and a movie is showed so you arrive very well prepared by the camp. And because its almost an hour and half drive it would have been nice for underway. Now there was no information what so ever before (or after) visiting the camp
Besides the camp is also easily reached by publictranport and you can very easily reserve your tickets, with or without guide, on the camp website itself and individually visitors also receive the camp booklet full of information.

About the experience of visiting the camp itself; that's a no-brainer and must when in Krakow. Very interesting to see and hear how the biggest drama's of the WWII. There is limited availability if you don't want to do a guided tour, only in the late afternoon, but there is lot's of information placed around the camps and inside the building. And with the given camp booklet you get enough information to understand everything. Advantage is that you can visit the camp in your own pace and see the things you want to see. With a guide you first walk over 2 hours thru Auschwitz I and after that you walk about an hour thru Auschwitz II-Birkenau. In the first part you have to wear a headphone with receiver because otherwise you might not hear the guide in the buildings when several groups are in at the same time.
Only thing I missed was a stop by the original unloading platform between camp I and II. Strange that the tour doesn't include it because it is almost on route between the between the camps and a significant piece of the story.
Also there are free shuttlebussen for individual visitors between the camps.

The tour was good but not complete. It was supposed to be a 3.5 to 4 hour tour but our guide did it in 2.5 hours, as we had no transportation included we decided to go back into the Auschwitz I museum and noticed that we didn’t enter to the entire exhibition with the group.

On the other hand our ticket said we had included water and a lunch box that was never provided to us.

You can enter the museum for free if you don’t want a guided tour. If you want a guide the museum also have guided tours in many different languages for less that 20€ and there is a free shuttle between Auschwitz I and Birkenau every 15 minutes.

To get there from Kraków you can book round-trip buses departing from the main train station for about 5€.

The tour was so informative and the tour guide knowledgeable about both concentration camps. I do think this is something everyone should come see and experience. You also get a packed lunch, which was very nice.

My biggest issue with the tour was that it felt very rushed. You went through buildings quickly without having much time to take it all in. The tour guide was accompanied by a museum person who kept ushering us forward the whole time. It felt a bit disrespectful to the memory of the place. Would have really liked more time.

My partner and I booked with Local Cracow Tours on our arrival to Krakow from their office in the main square. We were staying in an apartment rather than a hotel but the woman on the desk was more than flexible in getting the transportation to pick us up around the corner from our apartment. We were then delivered to a local hotel where we joined a larger group for the tour. The guides were very welcoming and put on an informative video for the duration of the journey. On our arrival we had to wait a short time for the rest of the group to arrive (it was really cold but some amenities at the museum entrance). Our guide David was excellent his knowledge was sound and he gave us enough time to look/take photos without feeling rushed. Would definitely recommend.

First off It was an amazing experience, I rated 4 out 5 because our driver was a half hour late picking us up. We had to call them to see what was going on. I almost gave up and considered renting my own car.
Once we were finally picked up the rest of the day went smoothly. Our driver Michael despite being late was very good and he was a very nice young man. He got to out tour just in time.
If you are ever in the area this is a must see. You see it on TV and in movies. But no matter what you think, it's only in person can you truly understand the magnitude of this place. It's a heavy, taxing day. You are emotionally drained once you leave, but it's so worth it. It's 1000% an absolute must visit.

Highly recommend this trip. We had a tour guide called Zuzanna who was very informative, her knowledge was endless. The tour itself is done in good taste and very respectful, my heart was pounding throughout. I do think there are too many tours happening at once so some parts are over crowded which did spoil it a little. Our tour guide had to ask one group to move on at one point as they were congregating which was causing a hold up. We had a nice lunch included in the price but make sure you rely to the email after booking through this app when they ask what package you would like or else you will be without your packed lunch
