- settlor0 contributionsVery knowledgeable GuideThe guide was very knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. She spoke with passion about the events she was describing and brought it to life for the tour. The tour was well laid out and followed an order of events which made it easier to follow. - Rhondda_Lad0 contributionsExtremely DisappointingWe foud this establishment extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, dangerous. We were adviswd that there was no need to prebook but when we turned up there was no organisation in place. Whilst there are lots of exhibits relating to the German occuption of Poland all the signs in Polish were quite large whilst the English text were very small. There is no obvious way to follow and what signage there was was very small. In fact, in order to leave I had to find a member of staff to get directions.Written July 8, 2024
- S M0 contributionsDisappointedHad to wait outside for over an hour before the agent arrived with our tickets. Once inside, quite disappointing, a lot of information about WW2 but not much information about Oscar Schindler. There was only a bit at the end of the tour. We had no guide on this tour.Written June 2, 2024
- 291LisaJ0 contributionsHighly recommend the guided tour.Lots of very clear, factual interesting information. The tour guide was brilliant. The only thing I didn’t like was that it felt rushed. It would have been nice to have had time to explore each area for a minutes independently rather than just listening to the guide and moving straight on. Was also frustrating that you can visit without a guide and keep having to move aside whilst trying to listen.Written June 1, 2024
- Venture6848090 contributionsToo crowdedThe museum has a very good history of WW2 in this area, in pictures and words that guide you through the story. The tour guide did a good job of leading us through. BUT the museum is SO crowded, it was all hard to see, and rushed. This is the kind of museum where you need to take time to absorb the many pictures and stores in the wall. It is just too crowded to do thatWritten May 13, 2024
- MichaelUnderhill0 contributionsTRIP CANCELLEDOur trip to Auschwitz with hotel pick up was cancelled 16hrs before we were due to be picked up. We booked 9 weeks before we travelled this left us high and dry and they offered us no alternative. VERY DISAPPOINTED.Written April 21, 2024
- Kat J0 contributionsDon't waste your moneyThey Only seem in it for the money. We paid for a Guided tour which was supposed to be a line skip. It wasn't whilst we saw hundreds of people, school trips and those who paid on the morning go in, we were kept waiting for 20 minutes past our allotted time. When we finally went in, it was hot, stuffy and claustrophobic. The exhibits were mainly photographs in the beginning and had been set out in a timeline. We were pushed past, our way was blocked many times and the factory was set out in narrow, hot, corridors. You couldn't breathe in there. We decided to leave our group and make our way through on our own, Only stopping a few times to try and read or photograph something of interest. We made our way through this labyrinth, wondering what on earth would happen if a fire broke out. Don't waste your money. Many more things to see in Krakow for the same price or cheaper than this. It needs a re think.Written April 5, 2024
- Mark B0 contributionsA must when you are in krakow the experience is great book a tour as can be very busy if on your own..Salt mines trip was brilliant an amazing place to go.. Lots of walking so you need good walking shoes and can get chilly..Written April 2, 2024
- TheBabbie0 contributionsGuided tourQuite a disappointing experience. There were too many people in the group therefore the people at the back couldn’t see or hear what the guide was talking about as very narrow corridors. We seemed to be rushed around with many areas missed out and not given time to read the information. If I was asked I would almost certainly say do an individual tour as you can progress at your own pace and take in the many photographs and written work.Written March 29, 2024
- 577Nick0 contributionsTour guide was greatThe tour guide we had for our visit was excellent, very passionate about the history and engaging with the group throughout the tour. We learnt a lot more about the history of WW2 and specifically how this affected Poland.Written March 28, 2024
- CPOX880 contributionsGreat experienceGreat museum, although it isn’t solely about Oscar Schindler. The focus is mostly around the war and what happened at that time in Krakov. You get to see Oscar’s office but I felt like the interior was purpose built for tourists. Don’t expect a “factory” setting. There are many exhibits inside demonstrating war time life. Overall we thought this was a great war time experience. We had difficulty getting tickets and had to book a tour on Tripadvisor. It seems like a lot of Kraków’s museums use tour/ ticket operators to sell their tickets at a much higher cost. Make sure you book everything way in advance at home before you go. Having said this our tour lady was great and we got more of an experience from her narrating the tour as we went around.Written March 16, 2024
- dinaisguerreiro0 contributionsNice guide but too much infoThe different expositions in the museum were very interesting but the guide... She was nice but spoke too fast and it was as if she had memorized a full script, which was a bit confusing since the information was too much in no time. Don't get me wrong. The lady was lovely but please, slow down a little bit. Another thing was that there were several groups touring at the same time and we had to wait until the next room was clear to move on.Written February 13, 2024
- Helisa1230 contributionsGreat tour! RecommendFantastic trip. Michal, our driver arrived on time and was a fantastic driver. He managed to get us to the tour on time, safely and in comfort. The tour itself was very informative and our tour guide, whose name I have sadly forgotten, was absolutely amazing. His knowledge was great and his version of events and how he described everything really added to the feel and experience. Extremely sad day but definitely worth the visit. The museum cafe is under construction so definitely take food/snacks. Michal offered us one bottle of water but I would suggest taking one or two more as there is a lot of walking. The tour is quite long and you have to go through each area relatively quickly, but we were lucky going in beginning of Feb as it wasn’t that busy (we were told). Apparently around summertime it gets very overly crowded. One thing I will point out is that the time you book for may change, and my understanding is that this is not the tour’s fault, it just depends when they are allocated an entry time for the day. So whilst we booked for 9am pick up, because we were allocated a 1pm entry the pick up time changed to 11:10am. This was fine for us as they notified of this a couple days in advance and we were able to prepare. Overall we would definitely recommend! Thank youWritten February 4, 2024

The tour was good but not complete. It was supposed to be a 3.5 to 4 hour tour but our guide did it in 2.5 hours, as we had no transportation included we decided to go back into the Auschwitz I museum and noticed that we didn’t enter to the entire exhibition with the group.
On the other hand our ticket said we had included water and a lunch box that was never provided to us.
You can enter the museum for free if you don’t want a guided tour. If you want a guide the museum also have guided tours in many different languages for less that 20€ and there is a free shuttle between Auschwitz I and Birkenau every 15 minutes.
To get there from Kraków you can book round-trip buses departing from the main train station for about 5€.

The tour was so informative and the tour guide knowledgeable about both concentration camps. I do think this is something everyone should come see and experience. You also get a packed lunch, which was very nice.
My biggest issue with the tour was that it felt very rushed. You went through buildings quickly without having much time to take it all in. The tour guide was accompanied by a museum person who kept ushering us forward the whole time. It felt a bit disrespectful to the memory of the place. Would have really liked more time.

To be fair; the transport from city to camp and back was ok. And also de tour thru the camp, which was held by an official campguide so out off influence from the tour company, was very interesting. But my problem with the organized tour by Cracow Local Tours is that I have personally experienced that with other tour companies you receive a official camp booklet when leaving town and a movie is showed so you arrive very well prepared by the camp. And because its almost an hour and half drive it would have been nice for underway. Now there was no information what so ever before (or after) visiting the camp
Besides the camp is also easily reached by publictranport and you can very easily reserve your tickets, with or without guide, on the camp website itself and individually visitors also receive the camp booklet full of information.
About the experience of visiting the camp itself; that's a no-brainer and must when in Krakow. Very interesting to see and hear how the biggest drama's of the WWII. There is limited availability if you don't want to do a guided tour, only in the late afternoon, but there is lot's of information placed around the camps and inside the building. And with the given camp booklet you get enough information to understand everything. Advantage is that you can visit the camp in your own pace and see the things you want to see. With a guide you first walk over 2 hours thru Auschwitz I and after that you walk about an hour thru Auschwitz II-Birkenau. In the first part you have to wear a headphone with receiver because otherwise you might not hear the guide in the buildings when several groups are in at the same time.
Only thing I missed was a stop by the original unloading platform between camp I and II. Strange that the tour doesn't include it because it is almost on route between the between the camps and a significant piece of the story.
Also there are free shuttlebussen for individual visitors between the camps.

Highly recommend this trip. We had a tour guide called Zuzanna who was very informative, her knowledge was endless. The tour itself is done in good taste and very respectful, my heart was pounding throughout. I do think there are too many tours happening at once so some parts are over crowded which did spoil it a little. Our tour guide had to ask one group to move on at one point as they were congregating which was causing a hold up. We had a nice lunch included in the price but make sure you rely to the email after booking through this app when they ask what package you would like or else you will be without your packed lunch

As I am writing this, I should be 5 minutes into the drive to Auschwitz. This tour company sent an email 1.5 hours prior to departure that the trip was cancelled as they failed to obtain tickets for the tour time. After multiple emails, there is little else to say
All other tickets are sold out. The options are to take a full refund or reschedule for tomorrow. As I depart tomorrow I will not be able to visit Auschwitz. Do not place your trust in this company. Book elsewhere. There are many other options! Totally unprofessional.

Very thought provoking visit that you must do if you can. Contact and pick up was efficient with this company. It was a very early morning pick up but worth it as you miss the queues and it won’t feel as pressured around the site as the queues build up quickly as you are taken around with a guide and your own headset.

prompt pick-up, not informed that I.D is required at Auschwitz & so nearly didn't get to go in, luckily credit card accepted. Tour guide was excellent. Only a quick 10 minute break in between leaving Auschwitz & travelling to Birkenau, not long enough for a coffee & toilet break if there is a queue.
Packed lunch provided was good.

We visited Auschwitz-Birkenau in November 2023. We travelled as a group of 3. We booked via Expedia and our driver Michal contacted the lead passenger via WhatsApp the night before. We were offered to add lunchboxes for additional cost of 49PLN per person (we declined, we bought our own food for the transfer). We were reminded to bring our passports (ID is required). Michal picked us up from our accommodation near the old town and was very friendly, he helped us put a wheelchair in the vehicle. We then picked up 5 more passengers before starting the approx. 1hr 20m journey to the camps. We had heating, bottled water and free Wi-Fi for the journey. Upon arrival at Auschwitz 1, we met our tour guide/translator and the tour began. We went through security and had to show our tickets and passports twice during this tour. We had audio guide here. The group consisted of around 30 people. After the first part of the tour, we had 10 minute break and got back in our small group transfers to Birkenau.
Note ** no audio guide at Birkenau.
** not wheelchair accessible in my opinion.
TIP: If you are able, book a private tour **with Cracow Local Tours** if you have reduced mobility so the tour guide can stay with you for the duration. Booking a shared tour means you may fall behind. Michal and our tour guide were very helpful but due to time restrictions, they were unable to delay the tour to wait for us *which we expected when booking a shared tour* . We heard most of the information anyway.
Although heartbreaking to experience, this is a tour I think everyone should see in their lifetime.
Thank you Cracow Local Tours for ensuring our excursion ran smoothly.

They were punctual, friendly, and provided excellent service from hotel pickup to drop-off. The guide was knowledgeable and approachable, making the tour engaging and informative. I highly recommend this for anyone planning to visit historical sites in Krakow. Additionally, the meal box (that requires an extra fee) provided was great, adding convenience to the experience.

We booked this tour well in advance of our trip to Poland as we knew it would be popular. Original pickup time was supposed to be around 10am from our hotel but we received an email 5 days before the tour saying the museum had provided a later slot and therefore the pickup was delayed to 13.05pm. Then 2 days before the tour we received another email asking if we could meet at a pick-up point 600m away instead of from the hotel as originally planned. The package that we booked said it included a 500ml bottle of water but when I asked about it we were told there wasn't any and that we could buy some at Auschwitz if we wanted. Very disappointing in the 29 degree heat. Our coach guide, Emily, had only been with the company a week or so but she was really lovely. At Auschwitz I did find the English speaking guide a little hard to understand but you could tell he loved what he did and he seemed very knowledgeable from the bits I did get. Despite the early disappointments, it was a fascinating visit but an emotional one too.
