The most peaceful place on earth
Wow wow and wow!! We did a one day tour of the country side in Poland. What a fabulous tour and tour guide. Our guide took us to a famous wood carver to learn how to carve wood, a couples house up in the hills to bake bread in their wood burning stove in their kitchen. We ground our own wheat into flour and they also served us lunch. I consider these hills the most peaceful place on earth! Just to see how these people have lived off the land for all these years is so beautiful. What a wonderful unforgettable day we had!

          Fantastic hike with Matt
Here's a polished version of your review: My solo tour experience with Matt was exceptional. Despite not feeling my best that day, Matt tailored the trek to my pace. He prioritized safety and adjusted the itinerary wisely to account for potential weather challenges. Thanks to Matt's guidance, I thoroughly enjoyed the hike and would highly recommend it. I look forward to booking future hikes with him in Krakow.

          Painted Houses- Great Experience!
Our guide, Matthew, helped make this a wonderful experience. He was easy to talk to and answered all of our questions. We saw beautiful countryside and enjoyed the painted houses. It would have been very difficult to do this on our own. Matthew had relationships with some of the home owners. It felt like a very personalized experience. We highly recommend this tour.

“Small group” is 30 + people.
Transport was online and contact via WhatsApp was reliable. Was in a “small group” tour but had 30 people in. The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. Stopped at lots of check points to discuss the history and signpost parts of the mine. Being in a group with 30 made it difficult sometimes to see and hear the tour guide but was okay. Mixture of ages and abilities, so some who struggled to walk stairs and for long duration struggled. I would emphasise that this tour is a lot of walking and listening. Young children who came with family were very disruptive due to being bored and unstimulated. There was hundreds of steps down and then long tunnels to walk through.

          Not worth the money
Was not what I expected, tlrwadimg theiugh the description and the 'what to expect ' tab ,it is obviously referring to the salt mines but never having been on this trip I was unaware. I booked it as,it said a disabled car adapted would take you underground and I expected the tour to use one, fortunately my disabled partner never came on the trip, it was a small museum under the market place that the guide spent an hour and half talking through all the displays, my partner would not have been able to be in his feet for this time. It was also one of those tours that you really didn't need a guide for. All the exhibitions had multi language displays, and just walking through, you got the gist of it. I feel that had the information been correct, I would not have booked this tour through an operator but paid to go alone. £80 for 4 people is all for this museum

          Unique and beautiful cultural experience
Want to experience something totally unique and feel the culture of tradition combined with lovely countryside? This is the tour for you. Our guide Mathew (Maciej Szymoniak) was exceptional. We had the pleasure of traveling on the Eagle Nest Castle tour earlier in the week and were thrilled to be with him again. We met people, saw the insides of their homes and experienced a very heartwarming and beautiful tradition. Everywhere we went we were warmly welcomed. It is clear Poland Active has invested in getting to know the people and their families. We were so glad we booked this tour. It is something even as well traveled individuals that we have never experienced before. Very special and beautiful.

Absolutely stellar tour from start to finish
This was an absolute highlight or our trip to Poland. Matthew (Maciek Szymoniak) really tailored this trip to our interests and pace. He quickly realized my husband's love of photography and made sure he took us to the best spots for the best pictures. We were amazed at his ability to know exactly where to be and when to have the best experience at each and every castle. They were all so different and we had not only beautiful visual experiences but wonderful commentary about the history, the people and the places. Do not hesitate one moment to book this tour be it for the beauty or the learning. Oh, and have to mention that we traveled in absolute comfort. We also booked the Zlipie villages tour and honestly after our experience, we know who to contact to experience all the facets of Poland - Poland Active!

Brilliant day. Enjoyed by all generations of the family. Great experience. Amazing scenery. Would recommend. Only issue was we were put on a raft with no English speaking guide. However, we managed OK with the help of another visitor

          Exceptional and memorable!
This is an exceptional tour of the wooden churches, traditional in the Malopolska region once! The tour started promptly at the agreed time with hotel pick-up. The guide asked us about the pace of the tour, explaining that we could see up to 8-9 churches if desired, the minimum being 4-5. We like wooden churches very much and chose to see as many as possible, and what a treat! These churches are unique and have beautiful histories attached to them! Most of them could be visited inside with their guide (who waited for us promptly when we arrived) or an audioguide. Everything was very well planned, and the overall pace of the trip was perfect, not rushed. We also had one hour for lunch at a lovely village restaurant; I recommend trying Polish traditional dishes there. Our guide, Maciej was excellent, knowledgeable, and went beyond the call of duty to make our tour enjoyable! Everything was very well organized, allowing us to make the best of our trip and see everything we wanted to see! The landscapes along the way are unique, too! Highly recommended tour that has an excellent guide! Thank you, Maciej/Matthew!

          Fantastic Castle Tours
A brilliant day touring some amazing locations in a beautiful country! Everything occurred in a timely fashion, which was impressive due to the number of stops we made at 5 castles and additional places of interest such as the viewpoint onto the Błędów desert. Our guide was very informative and helpful, both in taking us around the locations and giving us time to explore for ourselves. Everything was tailored to our requirements, with adjustments made in the order of stops to ensure that we were not caught out in the rain. An overall fantastic experience that I can highly recommend!

Wonderful FD Tour seeing Historic Castles: “MUST DO”
My wife and I booked an Eagles’ Nest Trail Tour from Krakow with Maciej (Matthew). It exceeded our expectations. Our driver and guide (Maciej) provided us with a comfortable drive from site to site and once there he guided us through them. His knowledge of each castle and/or ruin was extensive and he offered us narratives as we drove to reach the next location to be visited. He was exceptionally friendly with a full command of English and was quite capable of answering any and all questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our day with him and can without reservation recommend his trip to anyone wishing to see these incredible sites within easy reach from Krakow.

          Breathtaking tour of Ojców
This was an amazing tour. We were picked up at our apartment and driven to the Parc. One of us had a walking handicap and the tour guide accommodated is the best he could, which was kind of him. We first entered the park and first took a tour of the King Łokietek’s Cave. We then visited an old medival castle ruins. We took a break for lunch in the valley where we visited the trout farm and had the most amazing lunch of pierogies and pizza. We had a wonderful local blonde beer to help quench our thirst! After lunch we took a brief tour of the natural museum located in the valley. After that we have our way to the main castle and the Hercules club. Along the drive we saw beautiful landscapes and breathtaking views. Despite more walking than expected, it was a wonderful trip and definitely worth making the stop. Shout out to our guide Maciej who made the experience a standout!

The Auschwitz-Birkenau tour was eye opening and worth visiting to see the scale of it and remember, tour guide Martin is very good and knowledge and friendly. The driver was friendly and got us to both locations on time and a pack lunch was included. The salt mines was okay, the guided tour could have been better and given us couple of minutes in each section to take photos and take it in, the guide just felt rushed and wasn't able to take photos in all areas. If able to do without a guide would have preferred it so could take photos and enjoy it more.

A very interesting day, and a tour that I would thoroughly recommend. The trip through Auschwitz is without surprise, thought-provoking and chilling at the same time. Everybody needs to experience this in hopes of understanding the atrocities that occurred.

As for the salt mine to her, I didn’t know what to expect but I’m so happy that I experienced it. It was absolutely captivating and interesting. Considering the mine is hundreds of years old and only imagining life when the mind started in the 1600s, one can’t come away without being suitably impressed.

Both of these sites are an absolute must see if you are in the Kraków area.

We were texted our pick up time the night before and were picked up on time from our air bnb. Mini bus was comfortable and got us from A to B with no issues. The actual trips were incredible and a must for anyone visiting the area. Our only issue was the bus driver who barely spoke to us and came across like he really didn’t want to be there. Despite this I would still recommend this tour!

The driver was amazing and the tour guides at each place were also excellent. The only negative was in the description given by the tour operator when signing up. It states that lunch is not provided but did not state there would be no scheduled stop of lunch either and that you would need to bring your own provisions with you. 11 hours is a long time between meals.

        Tour 28th january 2019.
This tour company is unprofessional. The tour guide did not have a clue what he was doing from beginning to end. He was just terrible. I was also forced to store my small bag for a charge outside of Auschwitz in the bag locker because it was 'too big.' Even though people with bags far bigger than mine where being let through. I noticed all the people being forced to store their bags were British. So clearly the staff are xenophobic. The tour guide did nothing, in fact he didn't even notice people in the group were missing.
We did not stop for a break once, nor for lunch. His time keeping was terrible. The tour guide also lied about not being able to drop us at our hotel at the end of the tour. He said it was because cars werent allowed in the main square in the evening. But our hotel wasnt in the main square, it was in a side street. The very next evening our tour guide from another tour company dropped us right outside our hotel and also confirmed the tour guide from the previous day was lying about not being able to drop us off properly. So that's what Poland active are! Incompetent liers.

Our guide, Mauziusz, made the day seamless with his excellent driving and caring nature. He picked us up directly from our hotel and one our drive to Auschwitz was very informative when answering any of our questions. He was very concerned for our comfort, asking us if we needed breaks or bathrooms at any point of the trip. The tour of the concentrations camps was life-changing and a must do. The Salt Mine was the highlight of our trip and should not be missed. This trip is great value for money!

Had fantastic guide at Aushwitz-Birkenau, not enough time though, needed free time after to go have a look round. Corrected facts and myths!
Salt mine is also worth a visit. Highly recommended.
Actual tour company used ferried us from place to place, told us where loos were but had no interaction other than that.

We were picked up from outside our accommodation at 7.05am. Initially we were worried because we weren't given a phone number in case we needed to contact anyone, but it wasn't necessary as the taxi arrived smoothly. We had a mini bus with 5 other people (8 in total). We first went to Auschwitz-Birkenau (1hr20 drive), joining a larger group, and had a fantastic guide who explained everything we saw and told us personal stories. We then drove about an hour to the Salt Mines. You have some time to get food but I recommend bringing a packed lunch to eat in the car. We then visited the Salt Mines which were beautiful and once again had a great guide. This involves a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes. Finally dropped back at our apartment at around 6pm. A great day - we really recommend!

Great combo tour, very well planned and smooth in every perspective. Our driver picked us up from hotel on time. He was very kind and was driving safe and professionally. We were in total 7 people in the vehicle which was ideal. The journey to Auschwitz lasted for about an hour and was very comfortable. The visit to Auschwitz was very moving and emotional. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable and informative. We spent 1.5 hour at Auschwitz I and was enough to see everything we had to and then we spent another hour at Auschwitz II - Birkenau which was long enough too. Then our driver drove us to Salt mine where we had 1.5 hr break to have proper lunch at a restaurant of our choice in Wieliczka. Then we visited Salt Mine which for about 2hrs. Our guide was very good there too. The excursion lasted in total 11hours and was perfect, especially if you are in Kraków for a short break! 100% recommended!
