About the operator

- M2570YXpiab0 contributionsEnjoyed the day - Honest reviewHighly recommend visiting Auschwitz-birkenau - this was such an experience. All the factual information, the parts you walked through, the buildings and rooms you visited it was just eye opening. I won’t lie it’s harrowing and very sad but you can’t miss this. We personally didn’t enjoy the salt mines, it’s such a long day in general getting picked up at 5.45am - collect other people who have booked, then travel to Auschwitz (hour and half travel) at Auschwitz from 8am (all morning until 12.30pm) and then travelling to the salt mines (another hour and half travel time). Whilst the salt mines was interesting and the chapels built in the salt mines were stunning & the other sculptures, it was a 3 hour tour that could’ve taken an hour and half at most. It was very busy and we had to wait for the other group in front to be done before entering the next step, but they had to wait for the group in front of them and it really did cause such a delay. It really depends what you like, and what you find interesting, but we could’ve done with only visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau.Written January 8, 2025
- simonJames500 contributionsMoving, informative and breathtaking dayPicked up on time, great communication regarding times and location. Our driver was very informative about the trip. A documentary was played on the way that showed the history of Auschwitz We had a guided tour then taken to birkenau with a guided tour and finally off to the salt mine.. definitely lick the wall at some point as it doesn’t look like salt but is haha incredible day out from very heart wrenching to breathtaking it’s a day trip to rememberWritten January 7, 2025
- theclarken0 contributionsA Meaningful VisitIt's a very somber topic but so important to the history of the 20th century. The camp at Auschwitz is very well preserved. Walking through the grounds and the buildings was very moving. The displays were sparse but very meaningful. Birkenau was not as well preserved but still very moving. Sadly, the main building was under a tarp and inaccessible due to the upcoming anniversary of the liberation of the camp. Very disappointing but not the fault of the tour operator. Our guide knew the history and provided great descriptions of key areas in Auschwitz and Birkenau. More uplifting was the tour of the salt mine. Our guide [who only works there for 'beer money'] was fantastic. Great understanding of the mines, the history, and meaning to Poland. ButWritten January 5, 2025
- matthewsP3192IZ0 contributionsMagical day at Austwich and salt mineFirst trip to Poland together and wow how amazing it has been, we always wanted to do Austwich, but when we saw a deal to do the salt mine as well we grabbed it with both hands (lunch included but can choose to not have it and take your own) we were originally due to be picked up at 7am however that did get altered to 6am the day before so just be prepared for an earlier start! Mr Shuttle provided a great service and our tour guide for Austwich was brilliant think her name was Magdala. There is plenty of walking involved and flights of steps on both these trips so if your are no good with going up and down stairs, you may want to reconsider. We both had a fantastic time on this trip, the lunch was really good and a nice variety. There is also a lovely scene and music at the salt mine in one of the rooms and this is where I proposed to my partner, it was a truly amazing experience and captured by our fellow tourist's some of whom were kind enough to have taken photos and sent them to us.Written January 4, 2025
- Cara E0 contributionsGreat experienceGreat service. Arrived on time and super friendly informative driver. The experience was smooth less and the guide amazing. Definitely recommend. The whole day was so emotional and a must if you are in the areaWritten January 3, 2025
- Departure345075927430 contributionsMr ShuttleGreat trip, Mr. Shuttle was really good, kept us informed of pick up times etc. Did both camps, then salt mines. Very cold though, -2 most of the day. Salt mines were great, allow a good 2- 3 hrs.Written January 1, 2025
- NollyK0 contributionsHumbling, informative tour.A very humbling & informative tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Be aware that the queues can be very long. We had to cut our time at the second camp, but it not be avoided.Written December 30, 2024
- Gus2811910 contributionsAmazing, a must do if in Krakow.Auschwitz-Birkenau is a must for every person visiting Krakow. It can be very harrowing and upsetting, but the tour guide really puts everything into perspective and you learn so much about the history of what the camp was used for initially before the Germans took over the base. Out of respect, no photos were taken here. The salt mines were unreal. It is an experience that you must see to believe. I have added 2 photos to this review of the salt mines. To top the whole day off, we had a driver called Tomas from Mr Shuttle who was outstanding. He attended to every need and went out his way to pick us up from our hotel which was out of the drop off/pick up zone and returned us to the hotel doors when the trip concluded. He provided us with extra history of the sites as well as Poland itself. He was very helpful and talked away which made everyone in the bus feel at ease. We were in a private shuttle with an English couple and Italian couple who were both as lovely and friendly which made the day that bit much better.Written December 30, 2024
- Nauman19780 contributionsA sad day to visit. Great learning experienceThis was a great learning experience. I visited with my wife. A sad day to learn about the atrocities committed. A very sad and tragic loss and suffering. I read so much about it and watched it in movies but real experience is very different. The tour operator was great and respectfully presented the trip. Strongly recommend!!!Written December 29, 2024
- ChrisG32310 contributionsNot worth the moneyThere wasn't enough time given to do all 3 places we missed out on birken au so we were very disappointed and wouldn't book this againWritten December 29, 2024
- Road5531920 contributionsVery good experienceThe booking process was easy. Our trip went very well. We did Auswitch and Salt mines in a single day. We were kept informed off the pickup time. The bus operator showed up exactly at time. The tour guides were awesome in both places. Very historical and informative.Written December 26, 2024
- Tour557499797720 contributionsHighly recommend this trip! Our day was absolutely perfect in every single way! We were kept well informed about collection the day before the trip. We were very kindly picked up and dropped off outside our accommodation promptly at the designated time. The drive was very smooth, even our travel sick teenager was comfortable and slept for most of the drive! During the drive there, we were played a brilliant, very detailed video of the history of where were about to visit. The tour of Auschwitz Birkenau was fantastically managed. We were in a reasonably sized group, but we had head sets and were given time to see everything. Our guide had a wealth of knowledge and delivered the information to us at a very good pace. We were impressed and sad about the facts we learnt. For such a tragic piece of history, this tour paid it the respect and dignity it so rightly deserves. Lunch was provided. We each had a ham, cheese and salad fresh roll, a chocolate wafer bar, a chicken pasta salad pot, bottle of still water, some mints and a hand wipe. They do cater for allergies and intolerance, just ask! The Salt Mine was incredible. It is a lot of walking and steps, but it is so worth doing! Even our teenagers were impressed with the detail and the work that had gone into the sculptures inside. The tour guide for this trip was very well versed in the history of the mine and she was happy to answer questions. You could see that she was proud to educate us and the carvings were simply exquisite. I highly recommend this trip. The four of us were absolutely exhausted by the evening, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience and not one regret!Written December 23, 2024
- Joanne R0 contributionsPoignant day ,lots of infoEarly start but we'll worth it,verybusy outside auschwitz so took a while to get in but well worth the wait ,very emotional poignant place ,our guide gave us lots of info the museum is very well maintained. Birkenau was also a very emotional place a lot bigger than expected with a lot of walking involved, the highlight was inside one of the huts you try to imagine the conditions the people lived in and it makes you sad. Last visit of the day was the salt mines these were amazing and again lots of walking but well worth it the carving and the work put into these through the centuries as far back as 1600s ,Evelyn was a wealth of informationWritten December 21, 2024
- Robert F0 contributionsNice to end the day at the Salt mines to lighten up the day.Great tour guide that had knowledge of the history surrounding the area. The day includes transportation and a lunch so you just had to show up.Written December 21, 2024
- G1214FOjenniferm0 contributionsWell organised , respectfully presented x everyone should visit Auschwitz to understand what happened there. God bless xWell organised trip. Picked up directly from our hotel by a pleasant driver. 90 minute drive in comfortable transport with another family. On arrival to Auschwitz met by a lady tour guide whom guided us through both camps . Very knowledgeable and passionate. The experience was somber and heart wrenching . Respectful to the poor people whom died there. RIP :) xxWritten December 20, 2024

This visit takes you to 135 metres under ground, walking down hundreds of steps and 3.5km. But the amazing thing is you only see 1% of the mines. The salt sculptures are amazing, the work put into the oldest working salt mine in the world is breathtaking. We can only recommend it, a great 4 hours or so from collection to drop off. Well worth a visit, stunning, the walls taste of salt, it's common to lick them.

We were picked up by Sebastian a little late but once ringing the office were reassured it was the traffic. He was a lovely young lad very accommodating and chatty. He give us a bit of free time to grab a beverage and use the free toilets whilst he got us our English guide tickets. Once entering the mine with a great English speaking guide that I didn’t get her name, we ascended at our own pace to 100 metres down the steps were the corridors of history were disclosed. There is a beautiful cathedral at 125 metres down all calved out of the rock salt even the chandeliers were rock salt and it holds a saltwater lake and many calved sculptures it was beautiful, nothing we like expected. There is a museum as well which holds a lot of the history of the mine which leads on to a huge restaurant selling very tasty and reasonably food then a theatre which is used for weddings and plays. If you don’t want to visit this part you can go straight up in the lift. The whole tour is about 3 hours and light clothing is recommended as it gets quite warm down there. The mine is huge and a very large part is still a working mine, but a small part of it is dedicated for the public. It is definitely worth a visit to see this breathtaking mine

Myself and my wife went to the salt miners 8th March 2020 our guide was Anna.
We got picked up by the transport from our hotel in central Krakow bang on time and we drove about 45 minutes to the mine
The guided tour was definitely worth the price Anna was great there was loads to see just felt a bit rushed.
There is a beautiful church in the centre of the mine but we only got 5 minutes inside it before we had to leave.
You have also got to be physically fit you are walking for ages
I would have give it 5 stars if we had a little more Time to see the sculptures

Fantastic customer service! I accidentally booked 2 trips on the same day, I contacted the customer services team to ask if the trip to the Salt Mine could go ahead on the day I initially thought I had booked the trip for, or if not a day or 2 later. The customer service advisor Daryna was great, she said she would look nto what could be done and said woud call me back. Within 10 minutes she called me back to say the trip could take place on either the date I initially thought I'd booked it for or the Sunday.. I was so relived as I thought due to my own error of booking the incorrect date I would have lost my money (£97.00). The driver arrived at our hotel on time in a Mercedes people carrier, which was very comfortable and the journey to the Salt mine took approx 20 minutes. The whole trip from start to the entry and handing over to the guide at the Salt mines was seamless. Salt mines were amazing and well worth the visit, 100% recommend Mr Shuttle for this tour, by far the best price, only wish we had found them for the Auschwitz tour, as they would have worked out far cheaper than booking through our hotel. The drivers were very helpful and knowledgeable.

The tour operator were great, knew exactly where and when we had to be for pick up and collection. The driver and shared transport were spot on collecting and dropping off at our hotel, highly recommend the service.
As for the tour, it was interesting but feel like I missed a lot. Basically we set off in a group of 30 and unless you tailgated the guide you missed pretty much everything that was said. It was worth a visit, interesting but not amazing due to the guide.

I would highly recommend coming here to anybody visiting Krakow providing they can stomach the walking required. The chambers are incredible and it’s very interesting. There are also plenty of reasonably priced souvenirs. The downside is that the staff are outrageously rude. Our tour guide was very snappy and if you asked a question she’d say “I’ve just told you that” and at the end of the tour the staff repeatedly refused to tell me how long we would be waiting for the lift. My partner and I both suffer from health issues which meant that the tour was quite hard for us and I politely asked how long we’d be waiting for the lift so that we could judge whether it was worth going to find a seat. Instead of giving me a rough timeframe or explaining why they couldn’t say, a woman repeatedly shouted at me “moment” which obviously wasn’t helpful!

What you are buying is transportation to and from the salt mine, along with a ticket for a guided tour. The transportation was good, and they made sure to find everyone and get everyone safely back at the end. The driver was courteous, and drove well, I think. The salt mine is absolutely amazing, and you must see it if you visit the area. It is a lot of walking, and a lot of steps down. Fortunately, they bring you back up in an elevator. It was also quite crowded, probably because we went on a Saturday and it was raining. The entire tour took about 5 1/2 hours, from the time they picked us up at our hotel to the time they dropped us back off.

A very good service. Driver picked us up on time from outside our hotel. He was friendly, chatty and helpful. He also spoke perfect English.
The saltmines tour was very good, however once inside the female guide, I felt was slightly rushed, but still very good. Would definitely recommend and would go again.

From pick to the actual salt mine was really good. it was raining and as the driver knew we would be stood outside for about 20 minutes in the rain he stopped off and brought us an umbrella.
the tour guide was really informative. she did sometimes start her talk before the whole group had arrived at the spot.
the salt mines are definitely something I would recommend and also bookjngvthroufh this provider.

Very interesting and not to be missed! A really interesting visit and tour. A lot to be seen and our tour guide definitely made the visit what it was!
There are a lot of stairs to walk down initially, as well as throughout, but it is manageable- but maybe not for those struggling a little more with mobility.
We visited over Easter bank holiday when it was very busy, a typically 2 hour tour ended up lasting 3 hours due to multiple groups in front . If it was 2 hours I think it would have been fine, but we really struggled being on our feet for 3 hours constantly walking or starting (I’m five months pregnant) and so did many others in the group.
The only reason I gave 4/5 and not 5/5 as it could have done with maybe some more seating for this reason, especially in busier periods.
However generally, well worth a visit and very interesting. The tour guides are very engaging!

Please can you confirm if you pick up from individual hotels in Krakow, or there is only one central meeting point we have to get to in order to meet the minibus?

I think so as you can go down and back up by elevator. There will be an alternative route in this case. The following is copied from FAQ no 7 on the website
Is it possible for persons on wheel chairs to visit the mine?
The most marvellous section of the Tourist Route is adapted for persons on standard wheelchairs measuring 59 centimetres in width who enter the mine in an elevator. Persons on wheelchairs or with mobility problems should make earlier bookings. Please contact the Tourist Traffic Office or fill out the on-line contact form. Tours for tourists who are unable to move without assistance are organised all year round at 9.00 am, 12:45 pm and 5.00 pm.

Salt mine tours are done from various companies. You will need a company that do English speaking tours for you. This may limit you to the times you can book. Certainly found various times during the day.
