Highlights
  • Save time—see many Krakow Old Town highlights in a day
  • Put the map a way—a guide takes care of the navigating
  • Find out the history behind some of Krakow’s most famous landmarks
  • A walking tour takes you to places inaccessible by car or bus
What to expect
  • Meet your guide in Krakow’s Main Market Square in time for a 2pm departure and set out to explore the city’s UNESCO-listed Old Town. Follow your guide down the Royal Route, and walk in the footsteps of the Polish Kings as you hear about Krakow’s stint as the royal capital. Pause to see historic landmarks such as St. Florian's Church, and admire the grand medieval buildings along Floriańska, Grodzka, and Kanonicza Streets. Arrive at Wawel Castle and spend time exploring the magnificent castle complex, including the Cathedral, the Royal Chambers, and the Armory. Marvel at the Medieval, Romanesque, Renaissance, and Baroque architectural styles, and take in the views from the top of Wawel Hill, gazing out over the Vistula River and the gold-roofed Sigismund Chapel. Continue to Rynek Główny, where the star attraction is the 13th-century St. Mary’s Basilica, home to an impressive altarpiece by Veit Stoss, and some striking paintings by artists including Matejko, Mehoffer, and Wyspiański. Nearby, St Peter and Paul’s Church is another important religious monument, build in the 17th century and still the most significant Jesuit church in Krakow. After enjoying a coffee break (own expense) at a local café, visit one of the city’s most photographed landmarks – the elaborate Cloth Hall and the Underground Museum. Your tour ends around 5pm back in the Main Market Square.

A chance to explore and learn the history of Krakow
Oct 2021 • Couples
Decided to have a walking tour to find out the history of Krakow. Be prepared for a lot of religious history and to go past loads of churches! Our guide was Andrzej, extremely knowledgable and clearly loved his job. His English was good and he knew loads of facts from the history of Krakow. We covered a lot of the old town and Jewish quarter on the trip which lasted the full 3 hours. A good way to start a Krakow trip to get your bearings and go to some places you would otherwise miss.

Well worth it, amazing guide
Michael was very welcoming and knowledgable, able to answer all questions asked. And gave a detailed and lengthy tour of the old town, surrounding areas and royal castle well worth our money and time for a place completely new to us.

Fascinating, personable and enjoyable tour
Feb 2020
Our first time in Krakow and we're so please we did this walking tour on our first day in the city. The tour started promptly and we were very happy to discover it was just us for this timing/date. Many of the most important or key sights are covered over the 2.5 +hour journey. Some places are easy to visit independently but without history or context you're getting only a nugget of the stories. Highly recommended.

We were very fortunate to be led by Michel (Mik-hal). He was a great guide, flexible and knowledgeable and handsome too! He's a true-blue Pol and his experience and style made for a very pleasant trip with a few surprises too.

This is a great tour experience. Simple in execution but memorable in many ways. The perfect afternoon weather helped immensely too. Say "cześć" to Michel from us.

Cheers!

Krakow Old Town Walking Tour.
Michael was our tour guide. He was very informative and chatty.
You will need a good pair of walking shoes and don’t forget your camera. Stopped for a short comfort break and coffee.
We were Lucy with the weather, no rain 👍.
I would recommend this tour. We booked via Tripadvisor and received a confirmation and ticket which was stored electronically on my iPhone.

1PLN walking tour
Feb 2020 • Friends
This tour was great! We found out about it from a tourist information centre, 1PLN each for about 1.5/2 hours walking. Our tour guide Adam was enthusiastic, clearly passionate and told great stories about the town of Krakow, the buildings and all the historic legends. Tasted some traditional cheese at the end - and he showed us where was good for traditional polish cheap food around the square :) thanks

Excellent walking tour of the historic centre of Krakow, our guide (Michael) was very knowledgable on the history of the area and took time to explain the sites starting from the central square and meandering though the adjoining streets ending at the castle.
