The tour was booked in advance for us by our travel agent. We were picked up on time from another hotel around the corner from us. The coach was clean (brand new) and comfortable. A very friendly and knowledgeable guide accompanied us on the coach. During the journey there was a documentary shown on the history of Auschwitz. On arrival at Auschwitz 1, we were given around 30 minutes to visit the toilets and purchase refreshments at the restaurant. It was very very busy with long queues (I would recommend taking a packed lunch which some hotels supply, to save queuing). For the tour you go in smaller groups with a tour guide, you are given headsets so you can hear what is said. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate. My review is not of Auschwitz itself (for that I have no words, only great sadness). After Auschwitz 1 there is a 10 minute break for the toilets, then onto Auschwitz 2, Birkenau. It was very cold and bleak. I didn’t complete this tour due to my mobility, it’s a long walk. For those that did, on return it was a very quick toilet break again before climbing back on board for the return journey. The only criticism I would have is that the breaks are short. But I think this is out of control of the tour company due to time constraints at Auschwitz itself, there are thousands of visitors so I think tours are strictly timed.

Excellent trip, was collected from a nearby hotel. Guided through the tour as its a very busy place. Then onto Birkenau which was bleak but informative.

A must see to make sure that it can never happen again.
Only drawback was that the bus was 30 minutes late picking us up which had a knock-on effect at Auschwitz – our guide, whilst being very knowledgeable, was continually rushing us through to make up time. This resulted in us not being able to take in some of it properly and to by-passing many areas. The Birkenau part is almost completely outdoors and is without the aid of the headsets - that were so important for the group going around Auschwitz – hundreds of other visitors make it difficult to hear otherwise.

This started off as a great day. Bus picked up up at right place, right time and there was a very lovely girl called Matilda who was very helpful. Trip was 16th November 2019 (today) Auschwitz tour and birkenau tour was amazing. Male guide and translator were both equally excellent. Really well performed and explained everything in detail. Did not miss a beat and were very good at explaining everything that happened. Only massive disappointment to the whole day was they dropped us in a different location (city centre) on return and had no idea how to get back to hotel. Matilda did explain how to get there which was great but we got lost, couldn’t find our hotel at all and it was very dark and we were lost in Poland. Managed to find way back to where we were dropped off and went into Radisson hotel where to our surprise the rest of our party were all looking equally lost and confused. After a few giggles, everybody said that was a disappointment but thankfully a lovely Male desk clerk of the hotel looked up our hotels on google and phoned taxis for us which we had to pay for but as it was pitch black we all agreed. Got back to our own hotel thankgod.
That was the only thing that let the day down. In future I wouldn’t drop off tourists in a different location to where they were picked up to because nobody knew where to go.

This tour was booked for us but we have no complaints. We were picked up by a taxi bus and taken to the main coach which then took us to Auschwitz. The Tour Guide had so much knowledge and was very passionate - you are given headsets which are brilliant. Be prepared to take a little bit of this history away in your heart it is a very moving place. Birkenau was also very interesting and it was eerie to stand on the platform where the prisoners got off the trains.

We booked our tickets online before leaving for Poland as it was cheaper to do so. We were picked up on time around the corner from the apartment we were staying in but unfortunately when we went to transfer onto the next coach, there was a problem with the bus and we had to wait for an hour for a new bus to arrive. Once we arrived at the camp, the tour was excellent. Our guide was very informative and never rushed anyone. The camps are very harrowing places to visit and it really hits home the unbelievably cruel and nasty things that went on here. It was very surreal walking the same paths and corridors those poor people had to. I would encourage everyone to visit the site in honour of those who suffered there.

Firstly, I would recommend that everyone should visit Auschwitz if you are in the area. It is truly a shocking and emotive experience, but a must for everyone!

The actual tour company does have improvements to make.
Our bus was around half an hour late, leaving us standing out in the freezing cold with no indication as to when they were actually coming.
The tours felt very cramped in the hallways, and the headsets gave off a high pitched whine.

An opportunity for lunch would have been welcome, especially since the driver of the bus was incredibly rude when we tried to bring a bag of crisps and a coffee on board.

While Auschwitz is a must see, I’d recommend looking at other tour companies for your visit.

Dear Sir, thank you for your review - it is very important to us to keep in touch with our customers. We are sorry you were unhappy with a tour. After we get information we closely investigated the situation. We are very sorry for the delay considering it was very cold in Krakow Our morning tours to Auschwitz starts at Sheraton hotel at 9.10 am. Each place before is the pick up point - from which we are taking the guests for our tour. We have few stops before the starting point Sheraton so even small delay (caused by a traffic on the road, construction works and weather conditions) can change it. Our tour leader has asked whole group about the quality of the sound, then she didn’t receive any complains. Nevertheless I would like to express my greatest apology for the situation that happened that day. Next time you will visit Krakow, please contact with us - I hope that we will have a chance to improve your opinion about us and leave you with feeling of satisfaction. Katarzyna Dwulatek POINT TRAVEL Kraków 1 week ago Dear Sir, thank you for your information. We are very sorry for described situation. We'll check and explain what happened, but please kindly let us know when you were with us on the tour. We'll back to you with our explanation after your response. Thank you very much. Booked a trip to Auschwitz through our travel company as part of a short visit to Krakow. Picked up near our accommodation and following a few other pickups we arrived at Auschwitz. On the bus they showed a documentary with background to the horrors of the death camps. After a wait we went in and picked up our audio sets which allowed our guide to speak to us through headphones.

The tour took us first through Auschwitz. The guide was excellent in giving us the story of the camp as there was not too much information to read at each location.

We then boarded the bus for the short transfer to Birkenau. By this time it was raining which added to the atmosphere at the camp. Once again the guide was excellent in explaining the camp and what an 'industrial' holocaust was perpetrated there.

Visit Auschwitz and Birkenau with a knowledgeable guide to make the most of your time there.

I did the Auschwitz-Birkenau tour. I got picked up at the designated place but then we got dropped off at another place to be picked up by the big bus and it's late. Still, I understand at the Point Travel girl said that there are traffic going on. Nevermind that, love the tour in Auschwitz 1 but not so much in Auschwitz 2 Birkenau. The guide seems like want to end it fast. No headphone so we can't really hear her. That's the only bad things. I love the rest.

Tour reps - the bus was 15 minutes late for our pick up and the pick up at other hotels was a bit chaotic but once they got it sorted the rest of the tour went without any issues. The reps were very good and paid great respect to the location and history of the tour.
Auschwitz and Birkenau - how do you put words to such brutality and barbaric treatment of human kind. All I can say is what many before have said - everyone should be aware and if possible visit the camps. The tour was very respectful of those who lost their lives here, even to the point of turning off the tour headsets when entering the gas chamber (it was unfortunate that the group of VIP's behind us did not show the same respect and were allowed to make a lot of noise and use flash photography but this was not part of our tour).
A thought provoking and in my view a must do tour.
