- juliap6200Amazing statuary.Really neat place. Adequate guide. Amazing statuary, carved out of rock salt, at least some of it carved by miners without formal art training.
- BNJoutthere00Excellent tour and guide - Discover KrakowEssential to any Krakow visit, we did the Discover Krakow tour. Our tour guide was Australian/Polish. Humorous and informative, he was able to highlight the main exhibition essentials - ideal as you could literally spend a full day here (shame we didn’t have more time), and August is obvious really busy. Book a tour with this company, to gain a authentic experience. The exhibition covers wartime Krakow, the displays and contents are remarkable and you are transported back to this sad time in history, and the Schindler story. Guide also highlighted off the beaten track activities in Krakow, always great to have such recommendations. The museum itself was crowded but again, being on the tour was great as we didn’t waste time which helped with the attention span of the young teens !
- H6423IMemilys00UnmissableThe Salt Mines are not to be missed: a jaw-dropping experience in scale and human ingenuity. Great guide - witty and full of facts. 2.5 hours very well-spent. Would recommend the private car to get you there and back too.
- Claire M00Fascinating place to visitWe did this tour when visiting Kraków. The bus picked us up at the meeting point along with a number of other visitors on time. Our guide at the mine was knowledgeable, humorous and spoke good English. It was a shame that it was not always possible to hear him as the group was quite large and also the guide from the group after us did a lot of shouting. We were also rushed back to the bus at the end of the tour also, only just enough time to nip to the loo! The salt mine is a fascinating place to visit and learn about and would recommend taking a tour here we just wish it didn't feel so rushed. If we visited again we would definitely look into seeing if there was a smaller group option.
- P2994KClucyd00Could be better organised1 problem they cancelled my tickets 2nd I did get an email to replace the just a text message so had to try and sort it all out myself. The get your guide operator was just stood to the side of the building, lucking after walking around, waiting and trying to enter I found him and allnhe did was stove the tickets in mybhand and tell me to go in. When inside, in my opinion there are far too many people in at one time, if you get stuck behind a tour group good luck and rhe guides were rude and thought theybowned the place not letting anyone else have a look-in. The best part once inside was watching the film of people who had been there and lived it.
- X9368UMjenniferr00Worth every penny! This exceeded our expectations and is well worth booking! We had great hosts in a lovely coach where we were driven the short 20 minute drive to a really lovely traditional restaurant. The meal, unlimited food and drink buffets and meal were all very good and the inclusive entertainment something we won't forget!
- Roberta K00Transport to get there - and waiting by tour provider poor. Mine itself and internal tour guide was outstandingGetting there was a faff Changed times twice Very disorganised Told to be early and then told to wait there. So we stood waiting for ages in the rain at the salt mine! Once there the tour provided by the the mine was outstanding
- Maps2513518332000Fake company!Dont use this company! I paid almost 600 zloty to visit the saltmine - in the understanding that we would have a guided tour with Discover Cravow. But when we met the guide, all she did, was give us pur tickets and point in the direction of the mine. If we have bought the tickets in the machine, I would have saved almost 300 zloty. This is an indland business model, so if you want to visit the mine, just go by bus and buy your tickets on site. You will have the same experience and save a lot of money
- chelsea18900Great tour, would recommendReally good tour with excellent communication. Sadly our tour time had to be changed a couple of times by provider, luckily this wasnt an issue for us. The tour was informative and our tour guide was excellent, engaged the group and made the experience more enjoyable. Would recommend!
- markaO9179EY00Great museum and exhibitionI spent a very enjoyable couple of hours here, on a Saturday afternoon. The exhibits include artefacts from the royal family, as well as ancient Greek sculptures. Included in the paintings are the Rembrandt and Da Vinci. As mentioned by others, I would recommend getting the audio guide.
- Guide1533570703900Trash Tour Company, Avoid Like the Plague!! Don't get scammed too!!!Trash Company, you should be ashamed. "Discover Cracow Tours" minus 5 stars! The Salt Mines were great. The guide though was terrible. We were not late at all and still the van that was supposed to take us after the tour left us there!! Upon finding two people from Iceland from the same group as us, they told us that they were in the same situation as well. The driver just left and when called he would repeatedly just hang up on the call on purpose. They will 100% reply to me something along the lines "Are you sure you booked with us?", yes I'm sure, ***Discover Cracow Tours*** is trash. Don't get fooled, this company is a scam.
- irishuk00Was good but not amazing. Was interesting but nothing amazing. Not really about Oscar Schindler at all. Was also too crowded.
- johnwW5695PU00Great to see just not given long enough when walking roundReally interesting seeing how salt is extracted seems that we were always being rushed and with the large group you are in we could not hear the guide also a lot is not explained. Seemed a shame there is so much to see and photograph but you are not given the time as there was always another group behind us. Great to see needs longer on the talks not for anyone with a disability as there is a lot of walking and steps
- 913louises00Excellent salt mine tourWe booked the 10am pick up trip and was phoned the night before at 1900 ish to say we couldn't go at 10 and had to be picked up at 0800. This happened with 2 of our excursions with At cracow company. Tour and salt mines amazing. A must see. We had a lovely coach for transport too.
- michaelsQ1544DB00Great experienceWe were picked up on time. Driver was friendly. Arrived and had 10 minutes to use the toilets etc our guide Beata spoke very good English, slowly and was extremely knowledgeable. The mine itself was beautiful, the walk was fairly easy and really interesting. The only negative would be the slight lack of time in the shop at the end but otherwise a wonderful experience. This is not a review of the Auschwitz Birkenau experience but of Discover Cracow. The tour and guide at Auschwitz were great. The organization of Discover Cracow was very poor. I booked two tickets several weeks before the tour. I was instructed to send our names via email to Discover Cracow and confirm our pick up location and time a few days prior. I did both of those things. We arrived at our arranged meeting place and waited over 40 minutes for the bus to arrive. We were about to leave when an unmarked van pulled up. Apparently they changed the pick up time without telling me. They may have tried to text me, but I can’t receive texts in Europe. They did not email me re the change. They also did not have a ticket for my husband. The driver was not friendly and kept saying he is only the bus driver. What I figured out is that you’re essentially paying Discover Cracow to arrange your transportation with a different company and set you up with a guide once at Auschwitz. We never met anyone from Discover Cracow and there was basically zero customer service. Once at Auschwitz, the driver got a ticket for my husband (I thought he was only the driver?!)
The tour was very good. Our guide was excellent.
Once we were done with Birkenau, our driver drove back to Auschwitz where we waited for over 20 minutes to pick up two random people. No explanation from the driver. In the end, I expected a 6 hour day, and it ended up being 9. Beware when booking with Discover Cracow.

We are very sorry that you had to wait 40 minutes and the information about the change of time did not reach you. The driver is responsible for safe transportation to and from Auschwitz and for taking the group to the guide. If he was unpleasant to you, please report it, we will talk to the driver about it. The employees of Discover Cracow are at your disposal every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and work in the office, where they handle reservations, while other people take care of transport. The trip you bought is not private, there are also other people for whom the driver is responsible, so you had to wait for it.

Pick up from designated area was delayed by 30 mins. Poorly organised at pick up, far too many people to staff, which meant things took even longer. Due to this we arrived late to Auschwitz. On arrival we were all just left for ages not knowing or being told what was going on. About 30 mins later, they handed out tickets individually, which again, due to there being so many people, took at least 30 more minutes. Our allotted time was 12:20. It was by now 13:10. They then said they are running behind so we have 30 min break! Finally got into the tour which supposed to be 2 hours around 2pm. It was rushed and we were finished by just after 3pm. The guide was good, but the tour was obviously cut short. The 2nd part we ended up doing in the dark and again was rushed as they were closing by now. We got back quite late. It was badly organised from start to finish. My recommendation would be to pay a little more and get a decent trip.

Very well organised, superb packed lunch, my only negative comment would be if the guide could have interacted with us more on the journey to Auschwitz. It would have been great to hear about places on the way and it would have broken the journey up a little too. The actual Museum side of the trip was really informative and our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Museum etc.

Very, very worthwhile tour. The guide was extremely informative and receptive to questions. Transport was well organised and we got back to the city centre with plenty of time in the evening. There was also a short amount of time for toilet breaks and opportunities to grab food which was definitely worthwhile, as it is a long day.
I would caution though to those expecting a museum type experience, this is not it. A great deal of the camp had been left untouched (which I definitely think is appropriate, after all, this is no tourist attraction, but a testament to the lives lost during the Holocaust) and as a result, it is not the most accessible place in the world. For example, a person in our group had a buggy with them and had considerable trouble moving it around. This isn't really a comment on the tour itself, but just something to generally consider when planning your visit here.
Overall, would definitely recommend the tour!

Firstly, go to Schindler museum first you will understand so much more. And then please share. Our guide simply read out all the info on the boards in Auschwitz and was usually so far ahead/or on lower floors that we missed a lot on the headphones. Was stunned to learn that the guy who appeared to be a security guard was “the expert” who we could have asked questions. Only revealed at the end.

Had a great visit today. Discover Crakow were well organised and looked after us.
Our tour guide was great. With it being so busy and had to wait to see some of the sights he would tell us other stuff rather than us just standing there doing nothing.
There was so much to see. Would be nice to have half hour or so just to have a little walk round outside to take pictures.
Just had to be little rushed as it's such a big place to see.
Would defo come back again. Maybe in better weather to see more of the 2nd camp.0

Our tour was ok but could have been so much better. We did not depart Kraków until 40 minutes after the meeting time. Despite both camps being quite empty on the day we went we were rushed round with little time to take everything in. The guide was ahead of the group and so it was difficult to keep up. It was also difficult to understand at times. We got back to Kraków an hour earlier that we were told and could easily have spent this time at Auschwitz. We were whisked round and there was no time at the end to have a little extra exploration time on our own - which would have been great - especially as we did not visit all the exhibits with the guide.

Thank you kindly for your feedback. I will pass your comments to our department who is in charge of improving our products. If you value comfort during the journey, my recomendation is to book our tour to Auschwitz Birkenau with a private transport. It offers a private minivan as well as a professional driver who will ensure that you will be complacent with your travel to the museum.
Kind Regards,

So much time was spent at Auschwitz 1 that the guide basically sprinted us through Birkenau. They were trying to get a bus they ran off at the end leaving us to wonder in the dark to try find our bus. Our bus driver was also a dangerous driver constantly speeding and slamming on the breaks. He locked us twice in the ice. My handbag was thrown all the way to the front of the bus!

Dear Guest,
thank you very much for the review.
We will share it further to The Museum so the quality of the tour can be improved for future quests.
Also we will take appropriate actions regarding the driver's behavior so we can prevent that from happening again.
Kind regards,

A high paced tour that delivered an exceptional experience. The guide was excellent, informative yet concise, well expressed in English, and her tone was perfectly pitched for what was an emotional undertaking for all involved. I was pleased that all visitors behaved in a respectful manner on site; this helped to justify our visit. You should not have any qualms about visiting Auschwitz as a tourist; it works as an overall experience. The only slight improvement could be regarding the send off from the office in Krakow. The wearing of group stickers, the announcement on the bus that "Any questions? Good, no time for questions!", and "you will be looked after by our people once you arrive at the camp" had somewhat unfortunate undertones.

This is a tour that everyone must do! Takes around 90 minutes to get there from Krakow. Spent first couple of hours on guided tour around Auschwitz before going on to Birkenau, tour guide very informative and highly recommended. Overall takes around 6-8 hours so plan for a full day.

Mine was cancelled by the tour company but we took the bus from the main train station and were there about 6 hours. You need to make sure there is space on a tour through the Auschwitz web site in order to do this or you can't enter the main site before 4 pm.
