- ian18110 contributionsGo for it.Take a trip to the Oliwa Star observation deck. It's on the 32 floor and has various eateries and places to get a drink. The views are quite amazing. We did it through the day, but I think night would be stunning as well! You can go outside along one side of the building but are inside for the rest of the level.Written February 26, 2023

- lionelmT972ER0 contributionsStuttfhof concentration campI really wanted to do this tour, my husband. Didn’t really want to go , but the guild was very knowledgeable and informative. I was so glad we made the decision to go and so was my husband, the pick up and drop off was dead on time. If you are in the area I would recommend this tour, sad but knowledgeable.Written March 7, 2020

- lesann19750 contributionsGroup visitWe visited in oct 19, there were 7 of us and we booked separately through the Ryanair link. They called us the day before & also text confirming the pickup time which was 9.10, we assumed it was later as we filled the taxi and they didn’t have other pick ups. Other reviews state it’s free entry and you can do separately yourself as it’s cheaper but I would book this trip again! It’s a 45 minute taxi ride each way which would cost you way more in the uk. We had an Irish tour guide who was great, very informative, we all learnt so much, it also made our trip to the world war 2 museum the following day more interesting. The taxi driver was also lovely and advised us to book as a private group if we did any other excursions as it would be the same price as for 4 people or a group of 7. We didn’t notice a group option when we booked so worth looking closer than we did but it didn’t really bother us as we all thought the trip was worth what we paid.Written October 15, 2019

- johnphe0 contributionsGdansk City Private airport transfer - excellentThe driver was at the Gdansk airport waiting for me with a sign saying my name. Very courteous and polite guy. Did not speak English but had a translator on his phone. Wisked me down to my accommodations in no time as I had not been Gdansk before.Written September 29, 2019
- 263petral0 contributionsGreat experienceEasy and reliable shuttle transport to the concentration camp. Driver was very polite. The guide was really good at the the tour. Totally eye-opening trip and if you Gdansk it's a must see!Written August 27, 2019
- 140judyp0 contributionsEmotional experience but pick up disappointingBooked this trip for two of us and we were sent a text message with a pickup time of 8:00am the night before from our hotel. At 8:35 we were getting anxious as no one had turned up and we were unable to get a reply from the company on the telephone. The driver turned up at 8:40 and we found he spoke limited English. When we got to the camp our driver told us the English tour guide was not available until 10:00 so we had to amuse ourselves for half an hour. When the guide arrived though he was amazing and I couldn’t fault his knowledge or service. Entrance to the camp is actually free and you only pay 18 zloty when you get there if you want an English speaking guide or you can walk around yourself for free. Just to clarify You are actually paying the tour price for the minibus to pick you up and drop you off so it’s basically a taxi service. Uber would do the same trip for 175 zloty each way (£35) And there are numbers for local taxi companies on the board outside the camp if you can’t get an Uber back. We did enjoy the trip and would recommend the camp and guide to anyone but we were frustrated that the pickup was late and not being able to contact the company by telephone when we had an issue. If I was to go again I would arrange a taxi with my hotel or just Uber it as it would cost less and be more timely.Written August 25, 2019
- thebazwaldo0 contributionsGreat Guide and ExperienceI'd like to start by saying access to the site is free. You could take an uber or taxi which may be cheaper. However, the guide we had was amazing and we are very happy we chose to have her with us. She was great and knowledgable which made the experience so much better. She collected us from the hotel took us directly there it was around an hour drive from Gdansk. Definitely worth the trip.Written August 9, 2019
- Elise B0 contributionsAbsolutely worth a visitWe were staying in Sopot, but for the small fee of 60 zloty the driver picked us up from our apartment here. We travelled in a minibus with six other people, making the group eight in total. The small size of the group made it very easy to follow along with what our guide was telling us. We were picked up at 08.30, and when we left the camp site after the tour, the line to get in was incredibly long. Would recommend choosing the early tours, the sight was far from crowded when we where there. The booking was easy, and all practical information needed was promptly given. The driver was friendly and gave us an extra half an hour to walk around the camp after the main tour. Our guide in the camp was easy to understand even with the Polish accent, and had extensive knowledge of everything regarded the camp and it's history. He asked about our nationality, and gave us extra information about prisoners from our countries which made the experience even more interesting for us. Would absolutely go again, this is a must-do tour if in Gdansk and surrounding cities and areas.Written July 23, 2019

We really enjoyed the castle tour. The driver picked us right on time. The castle guide was very informative and explained many things. The echos in many of the rooms and the guides accent sometimes made it difficult to understand what was being said. Even so, a live guide is much better than an audio tour.

Enjoyable side trip that we took while staying in Gdansk. My husband and I were picked up from our hotel by a shuttle (prompt, comfortable) which then picked up one other person. The 3 of us were then met by the guide once we arrived at Malbork castle. We walked around various sections of the castle and learned about the history of the place (unique use of red bricks vs stone, Teutonic knights, chapel, restoration, amber etc). Guide was pleasant, informative, and went at a good pace. The castle was not very crowded when we went so that was nice. Weather was also sunny and mild, so a perfect day for seeing the castle. Tour was a bit on the expensive side but I think worth it. The only thing that might have been nice is to have stopped (prior to arrival) at a spot to view the castle from a distance and appreciate its size/location.

When was the last time you visited a castle made of bricks? Add to that a place so extensive you don't even think of it as a castle? This would be that place.
Innovative. If the walls could talk. Floor heating!? Dual use privy and site for surreptitious disappearances?! That would be here.
Bonus: learning about the storks that are treasured in this area.

The Castle was spectacular. The trip driver, Simon was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and helped prepare us for the Castle on the trip from Gdansk. The tour guide was also excellent and showed us a lot in the 3 plus hours we were with her. I highly recommend the tour.

Good transportation services by our driver from Gdansk to Malbork. Timely pick up from our hotel, and a comfortable ride to the site.
.
Great tour leadership by our local Malbork guide. She took us throughout the castle and explained the site's functions and history.
This is good for a basic tour of this important historical site.

We got a train from Gdansk to Malbork, really easy, cheap & fun, only 30 minutes. The castle is an easy 10 minute walk from the station. The castle is just fantastic,it is huge, well kept and the audio tour is easy to understand, and offers a great tour, it's about 3.5 hours so make sure you have enough time. We are really glad we made the effort to go. The Armory & Amber display were favourites. Can't recommend a visit here enough, do it, it's worth it.
