About the operator
- cfU1008OR00short tour, interesting historya small museum, short tour, interesting history. it was very hot, no fans or air conditioning. worth seeing, book in advance.
- Curious5387276742700Charmed building.Quite interesting to see a very old chemistry factory that had been concealed . Enjoyed seeing the old workshops and hearing stories and speculations about the history of this building; a murky past and links to the castle.
- 698kirsteni00Absolutely nerdtastic and unmissable!Firstly, do book ahead if possible (you can do this in person or by phone), as they sometimes have group bookings. Secondly, take cash! They cannot take card for the tour or gift shop. Tour was CZK200 for adults, CZK 150K for 60+ or students. Now that's said, WOW. I can't rave enough about this tour. Where else can you see a real, actual alchemist's laboratory? Our guide was fantastic, sharing so much knowledge about the history and wild political ride of alchemy in Prague with wit and verve, and answering any questions. This particular laboratory also has hidden tunnels and so many little details to highlight. They've even managed to reproduce (where the law allows – some ingredients were questionable… ) four elixirs from verified recipes found in the place. Absolutely thrilling and a complete bargain. Go, go, go!
- AstaSkripkiene32100Great visitVery interesting visit and a unique opportunity to see the medieval laboratory with the equipment, a place where magic meets science, very well preserved place. The guide was super knowledgeable and the tour was in small group, we had chance to take pictures and ask questions. Really enjoyed it!
- lulajean2700Scooby Doo, Where are You?If I was shopping for a location to film the next Scooby Doo episode, this is the place! Found only 22 years ago, this place is a kooky, spooky time capsule.
- Perry G00worth a visitwell worth this guided tour. the guide explains why this chemistry lab was constructed hidden away underground from prying eyes and some of the history of that period.
- Flounder170800A fun place to visit. It was a great tour and lots of history. Really enjoyed the recreated room and the history as well as the tour through the tunnels. The guide was great and incredibly knowledgeable with the only downside being her strong accent. A fun tour.
- SamB97300Really informativeReally informative tour. Great fun for nerds like me. I would echo the advice of the reviewer below - this is not the catacombs of Paris, you'd need to go to Paris for that...
- John B00Worth a visit but know what your buyingIf you been to Paris and done the catacombs this is NOT that. But it’s a good little 30mins and not expensive all considering. Our tour guide spoke good English albiet a little fast after the main front of the shop your taking into the back room for some background before desending into the cellar and tunnel area. It’s about 6 rooms which your not allowed to enter, the guide explains the background and is truthful enough to advise some of the stuff is reproduction/manufactured. There’s no getting round it, its a creepy little place wouldn’t want to be locked down there! Worth it
- Renee S00Not a professional organizationWe did the half hour tour here today and I found it very frustrating. The woman who gave our tour was extremely hard to understand. It was as if she had a mouth stuffed with marbles. Also, her English left something to be desired. This was frustrating because I had read wonderful reviews here and was looking forward. The other thing which was frustrating is that we showed up a few minutes before 3pm hoping to catch a 3pm tour and was told that the previous group was taking a long time so they are not going to run a 3pm. The next tour wasn't until 4pm. Overall, it is clear that this is not a professional operation and I don't know how much I would trust information theyvtold us anyhow.
- sofigunner00Would definitely recommendVery interesting guided tour! The guide was well prepared and shared a lot of information and insights. The objects on display are authentic and really cool. The only negative is you can only pay cash, but there's an ATM nearby. Nevertheless I would definitely recommend visiting it!
- C5294BKalicec00Worth it!It was a very interesting tour in a cool old alcemist laboratory underground. Nice history of Prague and the alchemy business! Good price, especiallly for students!
- childofthewoods00Amazing glimpse of ‘forbidden’ historyWe went on the 30 minute tour of the alchemist rooms underground and it was excellent! Our guide was very knowledgeable and it was so interesting and informative- we wish the tour lasted longer! That being said he packed in so much information in that short space of time and inspired us to learn more.
- r0bdan00Not to miss this laboratory of alchemy in Prague - something different and specialA lovely, roughly 30 minute dive into a time and place that is so unfamiliar to us in the 21st century. Not for the claustrophobic. Our group was too full - but it was managable. As another reviewer noted - wait for the next one...well - if you want to "chill" for 30 minutes in lovely Prague...so just go ahead. Important - as noted by other reviewers. This is cash only. Have your Euros or CZ currency handy. No credit cards. The entrance is like a store front. This is one of the sole remaining buildings from the Jewish Ghetto that was here before it was razed and for some mysterious reason it remained in place. A wonderful place to go on a hot summer day. Amazing and interesting things to see in this laboratory of alchemy.
- sarah d00A must while you are in PragueFascinating! Well worth a visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to look around, take photos and ask questions. Would definitely recommend. This is cash only (£10 pp) they also accept euros.

You do not have to believe in the esoteric to enjoy this small but interesting tour inside Rudolf's laboratory. Uncovered only 20 years ago, the underground rooms have been refurbished but give a convincing taste of what they were like...
The tour guide had many anecdotes and though it is fairly small, it should appeal to even small children.

Very interesting history and a great atmosphere but really not enough to call it a musume. Hardly enough to even fill the 30 mins tour.
BTW, the only way to visit this place is to join one of their guided tours which lasts for 30 mins

This is a very unique tour one should definitely do in Prague. It is like a museum experience one might have in the world of Harry Potter. Occult themes, subterranean rooms and even a secret passageway. Our guide Anda was fabulous! Informative, friendly and has great answers for any questions one might have. It is the definition of the Prague charm I’ve experienced throughout the city.

A must do tour when you are in Prague. Amazing experience, especially if you are person of science as me and love history. We found out about this place by accident and decided to come. Best decision ever. Super cool place and story behind it, highly recommended!

There’s not much substance to the tour here, but it is interesting to think that an alchemist did in fact live and work here. I would have enjoyed playing up the historical aspects of the location more than viewing stuffed lizards and curios on shelves, but I suppose there’s plenty of other places to learn history on Prague. Worth a short visit, especially with younger kids (who are likely to be Harry Potter fans).

Almost everything in the museum is authentic. The tunnels were discovered in 2002 when a flood collapsed the street. They found original equipment and furniture, as well as recipes. They make the different tonics that were made hundreds of years ago (without the morphine) and you can buy them in the shop complete with ingredient list and directions for use. It's so interesting. I work in a lab so this was right up my alley. They only take cash though. I had to go to the ATM to buy my souvenirs and gifts. They really aren't too expensive I bought a gorgeous silver amulet with gold tonic in it which is supposed to help with happiness and prosperity. It was only $35. Definitely worth a visit.

I enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide was knowledgable and enthusiastic and pointed out what was original and what was a recreation for the exhibit. The space itself is small and simple, but the fact that it's real (with a plaque from the Emperor) makes up for this, in my opinion. My partner felt underwhelmed, though. It depends on how much you like old mysterious things that get rediscovered in floods, IMHO.
