About
Hello our future cooking friends! We are Aida & Bret, authentic and joint cooking defines what we do and we speak food language! :) We believe food is a perfect communication tool and a way to get to know the people and culture because food connects. The way we guide our experiences is very authentic and friendly. Together we will stop the time and enjoy the shared moments. We lead the workshops in an entertaining way, we always cook together, share the stories, talk about rituals and traditions as well. We will cook in our self-designed Good Food Atelier, situated in 400 years old place. We prepare and cook 3 basic traditional Czech dishes - soup, main course and dessert. You will also taste our home made pickled vegetables and marmalades. Water, tea, coffee and wine are included. We will first shop together in local shops, visit a butcher and make a small walk in Karlin district OR go to a farmer's market. This experience is always lead by one of us - Aida or Bret.

AMAZING!!
Jul 2021
We booked this as a bucket list item for Prague and it definitely delivered! Aida and Bret are wonderful chefs and hosts - right away, we truly felt like we were cooking with family (Aida's mother even joined us!). There were yummy snacks/drinks and music during the entire class. The space is beautiful, cool, and the meeting spot is easily accessible. Aida and Bret were communicative, super organized, and helpful - we haven't stopped raving about the food and the experience! Bonus points - they also sent us the recipes to recreate! If you're on the fence or looking for something unique to do in Prague, book it. You won't regret it!

Great place, yummy food and the lovely host make it to fantastic evening

We found Good Mood Food in an untypical guide "Prag Stadtabenteuer". The description of the article awakes our curiosity and we book a cooking class with Aida. Due to the corona situation we had a private class. After buying some ingredients we went to the beautiful cooking cellar which is quiet cool in the summer. We decided cooking a typical Czech meal. We had a great time with a lot of fun with Aida and we talk a lot about the cooking. We definitely recommend Good Mood Food.

A huge highlight of our time in Prague
Oct 2019
While I am usually the family cook, my whole family joined me for this wonderful afternoon with Aida--including my sister the organizer and our cousin. We all grew up with the Czech food our grandmother made, and in the space of one magical afternoon, Aida made those meals accessible to us. I am not only captivated by making and eating good food, but also by the stories behind it. How did it evolve as a dish, what sort of variations are possible, and why do things one particular way or another? While that is too much to ask of one afternoon, Aida did teach us so much about what we were doing, and I feel connected to this cuisine of my heritage in a way I never did. It probably goes without saying, but everything we made and ate was delicious, and we'll make it again at home.

It's one thing to join the throngs of tourists and ticky-tacky tourist shops along the route through Old Town and feel like you've seen Prague. But a cooking class with Aida is not only a way to see another very real part of the city, it is also a way to connect with Prague and the Czech Republic on a much deeper cultural level.

A really fun afternoon cooking together
Oct 2019
My cousins and I are Americans with Czech parents and grandparents, and a strong scent-memory for knedliky, roast duck, and cabbage. On a recent trip to Prague, my cousin Julia booked us in for a lesson with Aida. I said yes, with a little reluctance. I love cooking, but I guess I wasn't sure what kind of teacher to expect.

Aida is fun and funny, and very dynamic. She knows how to engage with each person at their level of skill and interest. We passed a very enjoyable afternoon in her vaulted-ceiling cellar, preparing a (for me) very nostalgic meal, drinking slivovice, and passing on a taste for Czech food to the next generation (there were two kids in our group.)

I particularly enjoyed the excursions to the butcher and the supermarket.

So much fun !!!
We had a wonderful time learning a lot about typical Czech food, Czech family customs, cooking 3-typical foods and all in a wonderful space with a dynamic and dear gal who made us feel so at home. Our meal started with lovely bites of sausages, cheeses, breads, vegetables, spreads, pickles, jams(homemade by mama). Then we were taught how to make potato cakes (definitely my new go to recipe) , bread dumplings and fruit dumplings (all the while sampling wine and learning about the culture). Then we sat down to a lovely meal of goulash with the bread dumplings we made ..more wine...then dessert of our homemade dumplings! All in all, a memorable evening. Hands above a night in any restaurant! We loved our evening with Aida and will never forget !
