- nstr0ng0 contributionsGood Mood Food is ExcellentI and my Czech-Heritage daughter-in-law recently attended a cooking class at Good Mood Cooking School. It was an unforgettable experience. The school offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of old-fashioned Czech cooking. The Owner/Chef was knowledgeable and passionate about their Czech traditions. I highly recommend Good Mood Food. We cannot wait to return. Nancy Ann Strong, Dallas, TX.Written November 19, 2024

When planning our visit to Prague we wanted to experience something authentic. Brett took us through making a Czech meal and he was wonderful to work with and learn from. - Danaylor0 contributionsGrandma would be proudGrandma Recipes evoke memories of warm simple delicious food and this cooking class lived up to it’s name. From the moment Bret met us, we were welcomed as family. The menu we cooked included Potato Pancakes, bread dumplings, cabbage salad and pastry horns filled with delectable meringue cream. Bret also had prepared duck showing us how to roast them in the oven. From the ingredients to the cooking methods that were not overwhelming or complicated, we cooked an elevated comfort food meal our grandmas would be proud of. Highly recommend!Written August 28, 2024

- O4804VScarolyns0 contributionsA Czech Cooking Adventure with BretWe had an absolutely fantastic experience at our Czech cooking class! It was my dad (85 years old), sister, and myself. With my dad’s upbringing on Czech cuisine, the class held special significance for us. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we had the pleasure of meeting wonderful new people. Throughout the session, we gained invaluable knowledge and skills. I wholeheartedly endorse taking a class with Bret—it’s an unforgettable culinary journey!Written May 5, 2024

- MaryLS0 contributionsGreat experience learning about Czech food and cultureWhat a great experience! Bret was wonderful in working around my inability to find the meeting spot on time. Naturally began by asking about food allergies and foods won't eat. Steps in making each delicious dish were clearly explained with plenty of hands on opportunities. He even convinced me I can flip over a pancake in a skillet and have the video to prove it. Highly recommend for any foodie. Plus you get the recipes to try at home.Written September 24, 2023

- ayasR8942EY0 contributionsSpecial experience in Prague!Having a cooking lesson in “Good Mood Food” is an unforgettable experience for me! A teacher, Bret, is friendly, kind and attentive. I love his character. Everything is well-organized and he is of excellent workmanship. I really enjoyed every dish from appetizers to desserts. He said, “Just stay relaxed as if here was your home.” As he said, I totally felt relaxed in the place. He taught me not only how to cook but also history and cultural background of dishes. It was a great lecture! Thankfully, he sent me recipes by e-mail as I got home. I’ll try to cook in my kitchen! I highly recommend “Good Mood Food” if you want to have special experience in Prague. Written August 31, 2023

Went with two girlfriends to try this experience based on our friends recommendation. We wanted to try a new experience that involved Czech cuisine , since we were visiting Prague for the first time.
My first touch point was with Aida , one of the owners, who was very efficiently accessible by both email and WhatsApp and was prompt to answer.
The cooking studio was adorable and cozy , split into two areas, the cooking station and the dining area which had a warm ambiance, perfect for a winter cooking activity.
Our host was Bret, the guy behind it all, he was very friendly, explained to us all about the food and it’s origins, Czech food and wine culture and shared recipes from his grandmother.
We had a lot of fun taking turns in cutting up ingredients, preparing the dishes , drinking three kinds of delicious wines while we work and trying out different scrumptious and fresh cheeses with charcuterie. Bret made the experience delightful with his bubbly personality and passion for food and wine .
We all had the main dish together at the dining table , which was a hearty Goulash . With music playing in the background , candlelight, comfort food , good wine , an amazing ambiance and lovely friends this was just a feel good evening.
I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Prague.
Thank you Aida and Bret for having us and we all hope to see you again one day ! Nazdravi !

Bret hosted 4 of us (wife & 2 others) starting with Local Chardonnay wine and charcuterie platter. We then got hands-on preparing potato pancakes, bread dumplings and strawberry wrapped dumplings, with a bottle of local Rose to try. Bret cooked the chicken & beef and potato pancakes and they were served vegetable gravy (no flour used) and a Czech red wine which was a very good pairing! The room temp and ambiance was perfect in the downstairs converted room the reminded us of a small Tuscan restaurant. We enjoyed Bret and the 2 ladies from South Africa thru the entire evening. It was a great break from the hectic pace of constant touring. I was so wrapped up in the evening I didn’t take enough pictures! We highly recommend this experience with Bret and Aida!

The cooking class in Prague was amazing and one of the highlights of our 3-week trip in Europe. I'm a travel agent so my expectations were high, but I really want to recommend Aida and Bret. Aida was great to communicate with and was super flexible to adjust the class to our availability. The experience started with us tasting Czech products like cheese, sausages, and even a jelly made by her mom. The homemade sourdough bread, made with a starter that is going through generations, was to die for! We made dumplings (nothing to do with American or Asian dumplings) and a cauliflower pancake/crepe. Our dinner had goulash which was prepared by them in advance (since it takes about 6 hours to make it) and we were served Czech wine. We loved every minute of it!! Thank you Aida and Bret for the incredible evening!

this was my birthday event, we were six and had such a great time. It is amazing how much love and passion for details Aida and Bret bring to prepare a very special and unique event for you. Apart from the excellent food/wine and high quality of ingredients, there were great topics to talk about and so much fun!
We felt like being with friends with a very relaxed atmosphere.
I can absolutely recommend their program if you want to do something you will love to remember at.
Thank you! 10/10!!!

This was my second time attending a cooking class with Aida teaching. I brought a friend with me this time because I enjoyed it so much the first time. Aida is so skilled at what she does and truly loves teaching people about cooking and eating well. This time, I really enjoyed the Czech wine we all got to enjoy throughout the evening. We had a really fun group of 4 people and spent a marvelous 6 hours together cooking, drinking, talking and eating. It's so worth the cost, you get more than what you pay for, trust me! Thanks again, Aida!

Bret was simply the best at creating a fun and tasty evening for our entire family...three generations from 13 to 79 years old. The 13-year-old is the best cook/chef/baker in the world (can you tell this review is written by her grandfather?).
You have set an extremely high bar for future family events. Thanks for your laughter and organizational skills as well as your mastery of "reading" the crowd.

This was a wonderful experience. We were able to taste some great Czech wine, food, and snacks. I would certainly book with Aida and Brett again. Brett was also very patient even though I arrived late.
PSA: If you are walking to the location, do not trust the Google map instructions through the castle forest! You may end up running through the muddy woods, faced with no exit until you find a kind Russian hiker who leads you back to civilization. Follow the lit paths and add in an extra 10 min for walking. Uber is probably best.

From star t to finish, this is a well organized , informative, and fun filled class . I even learned some new cooking tricks! The hostess is not only a chef, but also into nutrition and wellness in a big way. She tailors traditionally very heavy fare into dishes better suited for today. She answered all my questions before I committed, and made everyone feel at home and competent in her beautifully appointed kitchen/dining setting.

I am not a cook, but my wife is and she booked this experience. Bret welcomed us and it turned out we were his only guests. Bret's passion for food was clear and he walked us through our fare for the night consisting of tasting of local ... really local cheeses marmalades, and sausages ... and then dumpling preparation - with fruit (plum) dumplings for our dessert. Our dumpling creation was paired with the Goulash Bret had made along with delightful Moldavian wines, soft music in the background, and in an intimate basement kitchen and dining room renovated by him in a several hundred year old building. The night could not have been better. Even I, a non-cook, became involved. Truly a wonderful experience that any foodie would love.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience! Chef Brett offered wonderful stories and information on the history of Prague, the food and the wines he served. We, together with another couple, cooked 3 delicious recipes and Chef Brett cook the absolutely scrumptious Hungarian goulash. The whole atmosphere was cozy as if we were at a friend's house for a dinner party!
