I and my Czech-Heritage daughter-in-law recently attended a cooking class at Good Mood Cooking School. It was an unforgettable experience. The school offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of old-fashioned Czech cooking. The Owner/Chef was knowledgeable and passionate about their Czech traditions. Great way to explore our heritage. Bret was a great host - not only with food but also with maps and history. We were immersed in food history for a great experience. Menu, appetizers, ambiance, and food were excellent. Gramma was from 1915 Slovakia and Bret took us there.

My partner and I love to cook and we also love to cook together. When planning our visit to Prague we wanted to experience something authentic. Brett took us through making a Czech meal and he was wonderful to work with and learn from. We especially enjoyed the lesson on flipping food in a frying pan. Thanks for a great experience!

Grandma Recipes evoke memories of warm simple delicious food and this cooking class lived up to it’s name. From the moment Bret met us, we were welcomed as family. The menu we cooked included Potato Pancakes, bread dumplings, cabbage salad and pastry horns filled with delectable meringue cream. Bret also had prepared duck showing us how to roast them in the oven. From the ingredients to the cooking methods that were not overwhelming or complicated, we cooked an elevated comfort food meal our grandmas would be proud of. Highly recommend!

Attending the cooking class at Good Mood Food with Bret was a truly wonderful experience. Bret’s warm hospitality and his passion for both food and the rich history of the Czech Republic shone through in every aspect of the class. We had an absolutely fantastic experience at our Czech cooking class! It was my dad (85 years old), sister, and myself. With my dad’s upbringing on Czech cuisine, the class held special significance for us. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming, and we had the pleasure of meeting wonderful new people. Throughout the session, we gained invaluable knowledge and skills. I wholeheartedly endorse taking a class with Bret—it’s an unforgettable culinary journey!

The cooking class we took with our host Bret was amazing. He showed us a lot of instructive techniques in a beautiful atmosphere. All recipes were from his grandmother, traditional and perfect for cooking at home. Furthermore the mood was very calm, friendly and comfortable.

Great food. Great drink. Great time. Highly recommended. Engage with the rest of the group. I generally prefer private experiences, but after a few drinks, opened up and truly had a blast.

What a great experience! Bret was wonderful in working around my inability to find the meeting spot on time. Naturally began by asking about food allergies and foods won't eat. Steps in making each delicious dish were clearly explained with plenty of hands on opportunities. He even convinced me I can flip over a pancake in a skillet and have the video to prove it. Highly recommend for any foodie. Plus you get the recipes to try at home.

This experience exceeded all our expectations. Cooking with Bret was the highlight of our trip. We went as a family of eight , such a fun thing to do together. The food was so delicious. Having a cooking lesson in “Good Mood Food” is an unforgettable experience for me! A teacher, Bret, is friendly, kind and attentive. I love his character. Everything is well-organized and he is of excellent workmanship. I really enjoyed every dish from appetizers to desserts. He said, “Just stay relaxed as if here was your home.” As he said, I totally felt relaxed in the place. He taught me not only how to cook but also history and cultural background of dishes. It was a great lecture! Thankfully, he sent me recipes by e-mail as I got home. I’ll try to cook in my kitchen!
