About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Kirsty B0 contributionsHighly recommendJust finished the Communism and Bunker tour and it was absolutely incredible! Our tour guide was fab, he gave lots of anecdotes of his own experiences with bunkers and gas masks and was extremely knowledgeable but also felt like you were just taking a walk with a friend. It ended up being myself and my partner and one other girl so it was almost a private tour too! Highly recommend!Written November 10, 2023
- MrsTBrown0 contributionsExcellent World War Two TourMy husband and I booked this tour and met Klara by the Powder Tower. We were the only two on the tour which made it a very personalised tour. Klara was so friendly and amazing, her knowledge and passion for the history was first class. It was fascinating to hear so much about the Prague resistance fighters, and learn about Operation Anthropoid - which I knew very little about. It was a very moving and emotional visit to the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror. Klara also does other tours and when we next come back to Prague we will definitely be booking another one with her. Thank you KlaraWritten November 13, 2022
- Boazn020 contributionsDont hesitate:Book it todayBest tour by Tereza on Prague oldcity. We werr a group of few people and Tereza was amazing with knowledge and fun stories. A very interesting tour .Written October 29, 2022
- ChrisW72020 contributionsExcellent tour of Prague Old Town and Jewish QuarterI'd read about this company in a guidebook before flying out from the UK and had decided to book. Our guide was Tereza and to be honest I can't praise her highly enough. Myself and my two sons were here only guests so we got Tereza all to ourself. Knowledgeable, a sense of humour, likeable and with perfect English we had a very informative and enjoyable 2 hours with her. We also acted on two of her recommendations of places to get cake and a traditional Czech meal afterwards. Highly recommended, please tip generously at the end of the tour.Written September 10, 2022
- 791isabelh0 contributionsGreat night tour with Klara !The night tour with Klara was the highlight of our stay in Prag. Our family was a group of 13 people of all ages. With Klaras friendly manner and nice humor she made the tour interesting for all of us. Thank you very much for these great two hours.Written September 7, 2022
- Gonibi0 contributionsGreat tour, great guide :)I was in a tour in the old town & jewish quarter. My friend and I had a great time learning more about the area from the lovely, warm, and knowledgeable guide we had- Klara. Would definitely recommend!Written August 30, 2022
- 152gerr0 contributionsInspiring free tour through PragueKlara’s ‘open source’ free tour through Prague was really great; interesting stories out of the ordinary and a nice sense of humor! She took good care of all people in the group. It was a small group (in contradiction to the commercial tours) and there was inspiring interaction with everybody and practical advice too. Really recommended! No paid tour can beat this, and you can decide yourself how much you donate. Dear Klara, big compliments about the way you lead the tour and a lot of succes - it is well deserved.Written August 17, 2022
- LMBHampshire0 contributionsFabulous private tourDuring a recent visit to Prague, we arranged a private tour over 2 days with Klara from Prague Extravaganza Free Tours, which we can highly recommend. We’d seen Klara’s company in the DK Eyewitness Guide to Prague, had a look at the website and saw that she also did private tours. The tour was approx. £30 per hour for 2 people, and can be completely tailored to your requirements. This was really important to me and my husband as I suffer from osteo-arthritis in both knees, and by doing a private tour, Klara was able to build in coffee/beer/ice cream/lunch breaks and a sit down when I needed it. We went to 2 great restaurants for lunch, and she made some great suggestions for local specialities. Day 1 we covered the Castle complex and Petrin Hill, and Day 2 was the Charles Bridge, Old Town and Wenceslas Square. Klara is a licensed guide and very knowledgeable about Czech history (past and more recent), friendly with a good sense of humour She gave us a lot of historical facts, legends and a local perspective and always brought the subject to “life”. By doing a walking tour, and taking public transport (tram, metro, funicular) when needed, this is sustainable tourism at its best. We can’t recommend Prague Extravaganza Tours highly enough.Written June 12, 2022
- kunikop20180 contributionsA fun, informative two hoursKlara was so knowledgeable about the subject! It was great to spend a day learning about WWII and Operation Anthropoid. We went down many interesting streets, where she pointed out to us art pieces, memorials, and important places from Czech history. She answered all our questions. The crypt at Sts Cyril and Methodius was amazing and Klara was able to give us so much more information than the museum would have. We would have missed out on so much if not for this tour!!Written December 16, 2021
- Connor C0 contributionsThe best FREE walking tour of pragueWe did the walking tour of the Jewish Quarter and Old town today with Klara and she was absolutely fantastic. She not only stopped at all of the best points to view buildings, but she was able to really paint a picture of what Prague was like back in the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th Century. The fact that this tour was free was honestly a steal and we ended up giving her a great tip just for her time and knowledge. We were the only ones booked onto a tour for the Prague castle on a Sunday and even though we were the only ones we she had organised a trip entirely for us!! I couldn't recommend her or this company enough!Written November 27, 2021
- marella20 contributionsDisappointing! We had booked a tour Charles bridge / castle but nobody showed up at the meeting point. We changed to a payed trip instead. Disappointing!Written August 28, 2021

- T3383AUannamariab0 contributionsThe best introduction to Prague! My girlfriend and I booked the free Old Town and Jewish Quarters tour and our Guide, Tereza was not only well versed and knowledgeable but also quite entertaining. She even provided me with extra historical details after I mentioned my enthusiasm for history and she was able to answer every question in the group. She also uses a points game to keep everybody included and is in general very joyful to be around. She also gave us good pointers to where to eat, where to safely change money and recommended us other activities! If you want a good overview of Prague I recommend booking this tour for your first day. It was definitely my highlight of Prague.Written July 29, 2021
- ananya1080 contributionsHighlight of Prague tripWe did the “Old town and Jewish Quarters” free tour. Our guide was, ‘Tereza’ and we couldn’t have gotten a better one. She was wonderful and easy paced. She kept everyone interested and included using her clever and interactive point system. Her narrations were clear, precise and informative. The only thing I wish for is more time and more tours with her. If you’re looking for a tour that is informative, detail oriented, full of legends and stories and interesting facts, this is the place to go. :)Written July 29, 2021

One of the best tours we ever took. The guide was really informative and helpful. Even if we were only two, she took the time to explain a lot of interesting things about this country. It was also a pretty personal story for our guide. It was moving.
We didn’t know a lot about Czech Republic and this tour is not only about « communism », it’s about the lives of real people, families, and hope about a better future and, unfortunately, a lot of suffering.
The bunker visit at the end is also something… the fear and the paranoia was still there.
Thanks a lot for this day with you, and we wish the best for you :)

The Communism and Bunker Walking Tour in Prague is by far the best tour in the city, and may be the best tour I've ever done anywhere in the world. Our guide Klara was extremely informative but also personable and made the experience even that much more fun. I really appreciated the small group atmosphere (10 people maximum) as I feel a larger group could have taken away from some of the experience. Klara also shared her experience living close to the border, which helped bring history into perspective. I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Prague. Thank you Klara!

We had Tereza as our tour guide and as the others have said, she was incredible! She shared her experiences living during the transition out of communism with fascinating details and stories. She does it all with a sense of humor that could earn her a side job as a stand up comic. All four of us are still talking about it and SO glad we went. Thank you, Tereza!

Insightful tour into Prague’s communist era. The tour guide, Kara, was very friendly and happy to answer any questions.
The quick pitstop at one of the popular Czech restaurants was a great place for a quick snack. Plus we got to know some of the other guests on the tour!
The Nuclear bunker was also very interesting- and is situated where you’d least expect it!
Overall, great tour. We also visited the communist museum so it was an added bonus. I’d recommend this if you’re interested in learning about Prague’s history. You will also need to do this tour if you want to visit the Cold War museum as the nuclear bunker solely classifies as this.
Thanks for a great tour!

Well worth it! The tour guide Katarina gave a personal family experience as well as an historical timeline on recent events that shaped Prague to where it is today. Took about 2.5 hours in total with a short tram ride No 9 included up to the bunker. The bunker itself was very interesting with displays of historical kit, militaria and news paper clippings of years gone by. Demonstrating back then that fear and reward were government tools to control the population, while editing of pictures and events was common to control the masses. A worthwhile tour for young and old - totally recommended!

I am a communism geek and I needed this tour sooo much and it definietly satisfied my expectations. My tour guide Tereza, she is an awesome guide with tremendous amount of knowledge who does not stutter while responding much detailed questions and gives you great information (which of it is, most of the time, insider information) as she lived in some of this communist era in Czechoslovakia.
I had so many doubts before the tour, (what to choose, why this company etc.) but I’m glad that I’ve picked ExtraVaganza, I DEFINIETLY recommend the company and the tour - with or without the prior knowledge regarding communism in Central Europe.

This was brilliant tour! It ended up just being me and my partner on the tour with the guide, Klara so it was like a private tour. Klara was brilliant, very knowledgable and gave much more information than some of the other tours I’ve been on. The nuclear bunker was great and really interesting. Definitely good value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Prague who is interested in the more recent history of the country!

Dear Caitlin and Kev
Thank you for your feedback. I am happy that you learned something new from the recent history of former Czechoslovakia and also that you had good time with me.

Klara is a great tour guide and brought history to life. As we walked around Prague Klara shared her first hand experiences to complement the rich history that this tour takes in. I really learned a lot.
My biggest regret is that I didn’t have any cash to tip; of course this wasn’t expected but it was certainly earned. So instead I will just give a very strong recommendation of this tour.
I will be returning with family in the near future and will be doing this tour again!

We went with Mr. L today. It was super interesting and super informative. Mr. L managed to make the 2.5 hours fly by. He found exactly the right mix of funny anecdotes and historical stories without it being boring for a single minute.
Great tour - great guide - we would do the tour again thanks to Mr. L

Loved this specialized tour through Prague's communist history! Kla'ra is a very knowledgable and friendly guide. She touches on all the significant events of the past 100 years and you visit the locations where things happened. She walks you down the special shortcuts and takes you to an authentic Czech canteen for lunch. I would book another tour with Kla'ra in a heartbeat!
