    Highly recommend
Just finished the Communism and Bunker tour and it was absolutely incredible! Our tour guide was fab, he gave lots of anecdotes of his own experiences with bunkers and gas masks and was extremely knowledgeable but also felt like you were just taking a walk with a friend. It ended up being myself and my partner and one other girl so it was almost a private tour too! Highly recommend!

    Excellent World War Two Tour
My husband and I booked this tour and met Klara by the Powder Tower. We were the only two on the tour which made it a very personalised tour. Klara was so friendly and amazing, her knowledge and passion for the history was first class. It was fascinating to hear so much about the Prague resistance fighters, and learn about Operation Anthropoid - which I knew very little about. It was a very moving and emotional visit to the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror. Klara also does other tours and when we next come back to Prague we will definitely be booking another one with her. Thank you Klara

Excellent tour of Prague Old Town and Jewish Quarter
I'd read about this company in a guidebook before flying out from the UK and had decided to book. Our guide was Tereza and to be honest I can't praise her highly enough. Myself and my two sons were here only guests so we got Tereza all to ourself. Knowledgeable, a sense of humour, likeable and with perfect English we had a very informative and enjoyable 2 hours with her. We also acted on two of her recommendations of places to get cake and a traditional Czech meal afterwards. Highly recommended, please tip generously at the end of the tour.

Great night tour with Klara !
The night tour with Klara was the highlight of our stay in Prag. Our family was a group of 13 people of all ages. With Klaras friendly manner and nice humor she made the tour interesting for all of us. Thank you very much for these great two hours.

    Inspiring free tour through Prague
Klara’s ‘open source’ free tour through Prague was really great; interesting stories out of the ordinary and a nice sense of humor! She took good care of all people in the group. It was a small group (in contradiction to the commercial tours) and there was inspiring interaction with everybody and practical advice too. Really recommended! No paid tour can beat this, and you can decide yourself how much you donate. Dear Klara, big compliments about the way you lead the tour and a lot of succes - it is well deserved.

    Fabulous private tour
During a recent visit to Prague, we arranged a private tour over 2 days with Klara from Prague Extravaganza Free Tours, which we can highly recommend. We’d seen Klara’s company in the DK Eyewitness Guide to Prague, had a look at the website and saw that she also did private tours. The tour was approx. £30 per hour for 2 people, and can be completely tailored to your requirements. This was really important to me and my husband as I suffer from osteo-arthritis in both knees, and by doing a private tour, Klara was able to build in coffee/beer/ice cream/lunch breaks and a sit down when I needed it. We went to 2 great restaurants for lunch, and she made some great suggestions for local specialities. Day 1 we covered the Castle complex and Petrin Hill, and Day 2 was the Charles Bridge, Old Town and Wenceslas Square. Klara is a licensed guide and very knowledgeable about Czech history (past and more recent), friendly with a good sense of humour She gave us a lot of historical facts, legends and a local perspective and always brought the subject to “life”. By doing a walking tour, and taking public transport (tram, metro, funicular) when needed, this is sustainable tourism at its best. We can’t recommend Prague Extravaganza Tours highly enough.

    A fun, informative two hours
Klara was so knowledgeable about the subject! It was great to spend a day learning about WWII and Operation Anthropoid. We went down many interesting streets, where she pointed out to us art pieces, memorials, and important places from Czech history. She answered all our questions. The crypt at Sts Cyril and Methodius was amazing and Klara was able to give us so much more information than the museum would have. We would have missed out on so much if not for this tour!!

The best FREE walking tour of prague
We did the walking tour of the Jewish Quarter and Old town today with Klara and she was absolutely fantastic. She not only stopped at all of the best points to view buildings, but she was able to really paint a picture of what Prague was like back in the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th Century. The fact that this tour was free was honestly a steal and we ended up giving her a great tip just for her time and knowledge. We were the only ones booked onto a tour for the Prague castle on a Sunday and even though we were the only ones we she had organised a trip entirely for us!! I couldn't recommend her or this company enough!

    The best introduction to Prague!
My girlfriend and I booked the free Old Town and Jewish Quarters tour and our Guide, Tereza was not only well versed and knowledgeable but also quite entertaining. She even provided me with extra historical details after I mentioned my enthusiasm for history and she was able to answer every question in the group. She also uses a points game to keep everybody included and is in general very joyful to be around. She also gave us good pointers to where to eat, where to safely change money and recommended us other activities! If you want a good overview of Prague I recommend booking this tour for your first day. It was definitely my highlight of Prague.

    Highlight of Prague trip
We did the “Old town and Jewish Quarters” free tour. Our guide was, ‘Tereza’ and we couldn’t have gotten a better one. She was wonderful and easy paced. She kept everyone interested and included using her clever and interactive point system. Her narrations were clear, precise and informative. The only thing I wish for is more time and more tours with her. If you’re looking for a tour that is informative, detail oriented, full of legends and stories and interesting facts, this is the place to go. :)

Insightful tour into Prague’s communist era. The tour guide, Kara, was very friendly and happy to answer any questions.

The quick pitstop at one of the popular Czech restaurants was a great place for a quick snack. Plus we got to know some of the other guests on the tour!

The Nuclear bunker was also very interesting- and is situated where you’d least expect it!

Overall, great tour. We also visited the communist museum so it was an added bonus. I’d recommend this if you’re interested in learning about Prague’s history. You will also need to do this tour if you want to visit the Cold War museum as the nuclear bunker solely classifies as this.

Thanks for a great tour!

We did the communism tour and greatly enjoyed it! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. As she was 13 in 1989, she could also share her own memories, which was interesting. As a historian of Soviet Russia I am always wary of guides who oversimplify or distort history but this time there were no mistakes of this type (although the tour is of course tailored for an audience without prior knowledge about the history of the region).

The Communism and Bunker Walking Tour in Prague is by far the best tour in the city, and may be the best tour I've ever done anywhere in the world. Our guide Klara was extremely informative but also personable and made the experience even that much more fun. I really appreciated the small group atmosphere (10 people maximum) as I feel a larger group could have taken away from some of the experience. Klara also shared her experience living close to the border, which helped bring history into perspective. I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Prague. Thank you Klara!

Wow, what a review. You made my day! The best tour you've ever done anywhere else in the world??? I am going to print it and stick it next to my bed :D Just kidding ;) Now really, reading this review made me feel that what I do, I probably do good and I should continue doing it. Thank you for bringing this message to me through your fantastic review. I appreciate it so much! All the best to you and your family. Best regards, Klara, the guide.

Klara provided us with the rich story of communism in Czechoslovakia, supplemented by photos and sites, concluding in an actual nuclear bunker revealing a plethora of detailed objects and rooms that conveyed the mentality of communism in the country. We are very lucky and enriched to have learned this story, and grateful to Klara for the kind and personable way she led the tour, involving great conversation, personal anecdotes, and humor. I would recommend that anyone interested in Czech history take this tour!

Well worth it! The tour guide Katarina gave a personal family experience as well as an historical timeline on recent events that shaped Prague to where it is today. Took about 2.5 hours in total with a short tram ride No 9 included up to the bunker. The bunker itself was very interesting with displays of historical kit, militaria and news paper clippings of years gone by. Demonstrating back then that fear and reward were government tools to control the population, while editing of pictures and events was common to control the masses. A worthwhile tour for young and old - totally recommended!

We did the Communism and Bunker tour with Dominic today and we thought it might not have added much to our knowledge having done two other walking tours in the preceding days. Glad to say that this was not the case. Dominic achieved balancing the “serious history stuff” with some really entertaining humour and at times a personal family perspective - although he was young he clearly has a deep understanding and passion of the history and culture of his nation. We had a small group of only about 7 people so talking and asking questions was very easy.
The bunker is definitely a highlight, add it to the walking tour and you won’t be disappointed. After the tour ended we were lucky to get a fab lunch recommendation from Dominic.

This was brilliant tour! It ended up just being me and my partner on the tour with the guide, Klara so it was like a private tour. Klara was brilliant, very knowledgable and gave much more information than some of the other tours I’ve been on. The nuclear bunker was great and really interesting. Definitely good value for money. Would definitely recommend to anyone travelling to Prague who is interested in the more recent history of the country!

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was happy to answer all our questions as she led us on a fascinating tour of communist history in Prague. The tour gave us a unique perspective on more contemporary Prague as our other tours were focused on a much earlier historical period. The tour also provided an interesting snapshot into what communist life was like, and a new appreciation for the Czech people.

Klara (hope that's the right spelling!) is awesome. Really good tour guide and just a really lovely and engaging person to spend a few hours being shown those bits of Prague you wouldn't otherwise see and discussing communism, politics and life.
1000000% recommend.

Hi Baz, yes, you spell my name correctly :) I also had really good time with you, considering that you were the only person who booked on that day, so the walk felt very personal and friendly to me too. If I could I would also recommend you 100000% as a tourist :D Maybe I see you in Prague in future, so you could perhaps join me for different tours. Anyways, take care in the UK. Klara.

This was a one on one tour with Klara and it was amazing ! Klara was so lovely and even took us to a Czech canteen and helped us to order some traditional food. She truly went above and beyond to make the tour happen for us and it was everything you would imagine it to be. The nuclear bunker was super interesting and was hiding in plain site. Klara’s knowledge of the time and history is really in depth. Couldn’t recommend this tour more.

Thank you very much for your reference and for mentioning my favourite old-school canteen where we sometimes stop with my clients. I am glad that you enjoyed the massive portions of the Czech traditional food :) Klara
