    Beer over books
Library at the monestary is not worth the price. You can only look into the library from behind a barrier. Beer is good, caution the pub fills up early.

An amazing tour with an amazing guide
I have been taking tours around the world for over 40 years, and I can say that Vadim is one of the best guides I have had around the world for several reasons. Our first tour with him was for Art Nouveau and Cubist Architecture in Prague. But he was so good on that first tour that we arranged for him to give us another tour of the Prague Castle. My only sorrow is that we did not use him earlier in our trip to gain a fundamental understanding of Prague and the Czech republic from the outset. Vadim is a unique guide because he has an amazing depth and breadth of knowledge across many topics, including art, architecture, history, politics, religion, culture, and sociology. He is able to magically and seamlessly weave all of these things together in a conversation. Consequently, you hear not only about art or architecture, but also the history of Prague (and Europe) across hundreds of years. In his historical discussions, he tells you not only about the religious clashes underlying those events, but also the psychology driving different factions and decisions. Likewise, his discussion about art and architecture describe the historical and psychological context in which those different trends arose. Finally, while he is very funny, he thankfully does not use canned, rehearsed jokes that many guides painfully use. Rather, his comments and jokes arise naturally in conversation, as he peppers his discussions with funny anecdotes across history.

    Absolutety Wonderful
Highly recommend this tour and Insight Cities. Vadim was a fantastic guide - interesting, personable and knowledgeable. The libraries were stunning and as a private tour, it was lovely to get that space and peace. Beer was great too! Enjoyed this one so much, booked other Insight Cities tours in Vienna and Budapest. Bonita was the so incredibly helpful in organising these.

    Fabulous architecture tour
Vad is an excellent guide. His knowledge gave us great historical and cultural context for the architecture we looked at. We saw amazing buildings including some lesser known ones. There were opportunities for bathroom stops en route, which was greatly appreciated. I would have liked a little more of the cubist over the nouveau, but that is a minor quibble. Highly recommended.

    Prague with Vadim
We toured Prague with the intro tour with Vadim, and he was so good we came back for the Power, Glory, and Destruction tour the next day. He combined facts and anecdotes in a way that made the tours both informative and memorable. My understanding of Prague history is so much deeper now — definitely recommend!!

    Perfect Architecture Tour
Perfect architecture tour! Vadim was so fun and knowledgeable. We covered so much ground, but never rushed. What a well-organized tour comparing the most creative, innovative styles of buildings that make Prague so lovely.

Enriching Tour of Prague for Art, History, and Beer Lovers
A fascinating experience! We are so glad that we stepped away from the main tourist attractions, and experienced the rich history of Prague with our guide Matous! Mat was incredibly informative, and we enjoyed his commentary on the monasteries and breweries. The perfect tour for beer, art, and history lovers. We truly felt like this tour enriched our time in Prague!

Insightful, fun, rewarding tour of Prague
This was a really great way to spend a couple of hours wandering around the most interesting architecture. Vadim was very knowledgeable and very courteous. He took us into some great places not otherwise accessible via tourist guides, and was able to set his knowledge into the context of our understanding and perspectives of art, architecture and history.

    Best Prague Guide
Vadim, our guide, was one of the best guides we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is very knowledgeable and extremely generous with his time. His explanations of the castle complex and St. Vitus Cathedral made it all come alive for us. The time spent with Vadim made our time in Prague a true pleasure. By ourselves we could not have gotten to appreciate the complex nearly as much as we did. I can't praise him enough!

Amazing Tour of Prague Castle Complex
We toured the Prague Castle Complex with Vadim, and he was amazing! He was interesting and informative, and he knew the best times to tour each sight so we were never in large crowds. He answered every question we asked and some we didn't ask. The complex is large, and we would have missed so much if we went by ourselves.

    Memorable walk!
This was the highlight of our trip to Prague. Vadim was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the buildings and the history. Our eyes were opened to some amazing places and spaces. Not that much walking.

    Unmissable
Talking with Vad is the kind of experience that reminds you why it is that we need great historians. He was so knowledgable, so effusive in his love of the spaces that we ended up talking to him far after the tour was over (generously he lent us some of his own time). And of course, we got to get a much closer view of perhaps one of the most stunning monuments to the pursuit of knowledge that I have ever been in. Cannot recommend this enough.

This tour was designed primarily for teen kids, I have attended with my two teen kids. We enjoyed the 2hour walk through Prague's Art Nouveau gems - I had no idea we have such an amazing buildings in the city centre. Bonita gave us so much information about the history of the buildings, the architecture. The tour was informative, interesting and so well organised! I recommend it entirely!

Thanks for the warm review. It's a particular encouragement to us now while we hang on to a company that we love during the pandemic and freeze in tourism. Hope to see you on other Insight Cities tours in Prague, and also in Berlin, Vienna and Salzburg, Budapest and Munich.

We took a group of US college students studying abroad in Prague for the summer on this wonderful tour! Bonita gave a phenomenal 3-hour presentation on Czech/Czechoslovakian interwar history, culture and architecture that really made the city come alive for our students in a whole new way. I've been to Prague many times, but I learned many new things on this tour myself. I even found myself looking at Prague's beautiful buildings with different eyes after the tour. Our students loved the experience, especially getting to see some hidden gems in the city they would never find on their own. It's clear that Bonita knows the city inside and out. I can't recommend this tour, and Insight Tours generally, highly enough!

Thanks for your review and for your bright, engaging students. I love giving this particular tour precisely because it involves many unexpected interiors and because I'm fascinated myself with Prague's dramatic history in the 19th and 20th centuries. Giving the tour for university students is an extra joy for me! We hope we'll have the chance to tour for your overseas program again in Prague and in our other cities.

Together with a couple of our friends, my husband and I went on an Art Nouveau tour with Vadim. It was the last day of our one week stay in Prague in December 2021 and it turned out to be the high point of our time in this mesmerizing city. Vadim is very knowledgeable and in three hours he not only showed us many remarkable architectural sites in the city, but connected architecture with history of the city, literature and art. Vadim has a very nice style - a poised and clear voice and he is easy to follow. Overall very good experience. I highly recommend Art Nouveau tour in Prague with Vadim

Going on this tour with Bonita changed the way I looked at the architecture in Prague. The day after the tour I found myself recognising the history of a building by the particular details she had helped us to identify. It felt wonderful to really 'see' the city and not just experience it as a beautiful background. Really recommend.

Vadim directed my eyes upward to enjoy the architecture of this lovely city. It was great fun to wander into arcades that I would not have discovered on my own. His explanations also provided an understanding of how the buildings reflect the character of the Czeck people, including their history and aspirations. A private tour is so much more than wandering alone or with a group - it's a connection with a local and Vadim is absolutely charming. Don't hesitate to book!

Bonita is Prague's Art Nouveau and Cubist expert. The tour was insightful, informative and full of nuance that was tailored to our personal understanding and experience with the field. It was also a fun and enjoyable experience. This is hands-down, the best Prague tour, I have been on.

This is an excellent tour, whether it's your first time to Prague or your tenth. Bonita showed us a side of Prague that you just aren't going to see on a typical "city tour." She's an American expat who moved to Prague many years ago and has parlayed her expertise on history and architecture into this fascinating tour. We learned so much about Prague's cultural history and were introduced to Cubism, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Rococo and even Brutalism, and how these styles intertwined with the 20th-century history of Prague. Can't recommend enough.

This was the highlight of my time in Prague. My tour was with the founder, Bonita Rhoads. I had booked her all to myself, which was expensive but great. This was exactly the tour I hoped for because it gave me context and the social history for everything I was seeing. There's a lot of visual stimulation in Prague, and Bonita directed my eye to things I might never have noticed on my own. If you're intellectually curious and appreciate being talked up to, this is the tour for you.

Bonita also showed me the great spots for "selfies" and then took them for me.

We went on this tour with Lenka Phillippova as our guide. She has extensive knowledge of the history of Art Nouveau in Prague as well as history in the city. She showed us some amazing sites that we would never have found on our own. Her command of English was excellent. She was passionate about the subject and she graciously shared her time and knowledge with us. We were mesmerized for four hours ! We were lucky to be the only two people in the group so it was a personalized experience.
We cannot recommend Insight Tours more highly- registration was easy, confirmation of the guide and meeting place was detailed and helpful. The tour guides are amazing !
