About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Edaj880 contributionsGreat, give it a goReally loved this tour. We went with "Jo" which probably made the trip a 5 star from a 4 if I'm honest. He was brilliant and really set the scene. He looked the part and had a great way of telling each story as well as popping in a lot of little extra facts about the city and its history which was fascinating. The stories were well picked and really interesting. I genuinely feel like I've learnt a few things from them, even about Dracula which I had already known quite a bit about (Vlad!) It was a well timed tour and a little walking but not too much it's exhausting. It was held at a good pace so even the slowest walkers of the group had no issue keeping up. Jo's English was superb, even chucking in a bit of well timed humour and sarcasm. The setting of the castle district is great. The buildings and areas to see are truly beautiful especially at night and I'm glad I've managed to see them at night which I probably wouldn't have done without the tour. Thank you!Written October 20, 2023
- blanca830 contributionsDon't miss it!It was a fabulous tour in Budapest! And all the credit goes to our guide Joe! He is literally an actor, such a great voice and performance, we enjoyed it so much! He is also very funny, we laughed so hard. I would recommend this tour to everyone!Written August 17, 2023

Walking through the castle district at night listening to the gruesome stories was exhilarating and a must do in Budapest! Not for the feint of heart. 🇨🇦Written September 29, 2022
- pulkitbaheria0 contributionsAn enjoyable experienceIt was quite enjoyable, our guide(I am slipping on the name, picture attached) was a great story teller. There were recorded facts mentioned with legends in the stories which was quite interesting. Since it was at night, the castle was completely lit up and it was a great experience walking around looking at the castle and city on the other side across the river listening to hood stories. Would recommend this!Written August 21, 2022
- JediFox0 contributionsHighly recommendedThis experience was wonderful on several levels. The story teller, Valentine, was just excellent. The stories themselves are engaging and exciting. Finally, the city and walk is amazing at night. Overall, we would highly recommend this tour.Written July 19, 2022

- 479viktoriyam0 contributionsEnjoyableI loved this walk, it is in the most adored area in the city and at night it is the perfect time to see it empty and also discover the beauty of Prague at night. Our guide was Casey and he turned out to be a fantastic story teller, who was able to add the mystery in each stop we had during this walk. I would recommend it, if you have the time and are fascinated by the alternative.Written October 8, 2020
- Michel-Haarlem0 contributionsGreat tourTour was really fun. The tour took 2 hrs and was never boring. Lots of interesting story’s about the history of Prague. Liam is a very friendly host and is very passionate in his story telling.Written July 28, 2020
- Squiggz0 contributionsLamp light wanderingsWe booked in advance for the walking tour, unfortunately by the time our slot arrived it was raining quite heavily and we were worried the tour would be called off. It wasn’t and I think everyone who had booked turned up. Thankfully it stopped raining as we were wandering but our guide kindly stopped to tell us stories where there were places we could shelter and offered us the use of his lamp which he said would help keep us warm. We walked for about 2hrs around the stunning Old Town. Liam told us many tales linked to the buildings and former residents. He had the right balance of history and theatrics to bring the stories to life and keep everyone enthralled. I will certainly look out for the tour in Krakow when we visit there. Excellent value and a really interesting tour.Written February 16, 2020

We heard a lot of interesting ghost /paranormal stories linked to several buildings and locations in old Prague which are also interesting historicaly. Scott is a wonderful ghosts storyteller. Even when all the Christmas lights are on, everywhere is crowded and everyone is in merry mood he managed to give us the chill with some of his stories . We loved the tourWritten December 7, 2019
- MonkeyChickens0 contributionsAbsolutely loved this tourWe always like to do a walking ghost tour when we visit a new city, to learn the more unseen parts of history. This was a really great tour, the two hours flew by, we could have listened to Jana (so sorry if I spelled that wrong) for hours more. She really brought the spooky stories of Prague to life.Written November 7, 2019

Right off, may I say a big thank you to our host\storyteller Liam. Not only did he look the part he played the part perfectly. We were part of a fairly large group of about twenty people but at no time did we struggle to hear or see Liam, he organised the group extremely well so everyone could hear him. The tour itself is a great way to learn about and see more of Prague, a lot of which you'd never discover on your own or by following some on-line guide or book. Liam was extremely knowledgeable and the stories he told were very entertaining, which is as as much to do with the way Liam tells them as the stories themselves. For the money, this was a bargain. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who wants to do something a bit more than the usual, wants to be entertained and wants to learn more about the wonderful city of Prague itself. One tip - wrap up warm if you do this in winter !

This tour was a fun, informative stroll through the old town square and environs. It was the first tour I took of the area and It gave me a good overview of things I wanted to go back and see the next day, in the daylight. The legends and stories are a fun way to experience the area in a new way.
As the title says, we had a brief but intense squall kick up while the group was headed between story locations. Without skipping a beat Scott hustled us back to a safer, dryer, location and continued entertaining us until the wind and rain subsided. Very professional and unflappable, and we fortunately didn't have to endure more than a light drizzle after the initial burst. I recommend the tour and will look for Scott again when I return to the city in the future.

We had Liam as our guide. He was amazing! He's a fabulous storyteller and kept our whole group captivated throughout.
The stories were really interesting and highlighted some beautiful buildings and dark stories that originate within.
I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to sample a bit of the macarbe of Old Town Prague. And if you get Liam...bonus!
Do wear warm clothes & comfy shoes as it's a long walk 👍

We did not enjoy this, quite uninteresting. This was by no means a 'ghost' walk and having the stories being told by an American actor was not authentic at all.I started to be unsure as the tour guide asked a restraunt if they could open up a door for us to one of the buildings in the old town and they said no in front of us.So seemed very unprepared. The stories were not scary and we felt our money was wasted.
We did not stay and finish the tour.
If you want to feel an atmosphere you will not get it, it is a tour by night with some stories of old prague.
I did not expect ghost investigation but this was by no means a ghost walk...very disappointing!!

Thank you very much indeed for your review, however we’d like to point out a few things.
Firstly, we are surprised to read how unhappy you are with your experience with our tour (based on our rating).
Secondly, we suppose that you expected something that is not mentioned in the tour’s description that is > an immersive storytelling experience in form of an evening walking tour where a narrator tell ghost stories for the entire duration of the tour which is 2 hours.
These are authentic Prague legends; not tailor-made stories to suit people’s taste, still bloody tragedies involving deaths and ghost hauntings.
People have different level of sensitivity, some feel shivers down the spine, others find the stories interesting. Anyway these requires from the audience a particular attention to listen; perhaps oral storytelling is not your cup of tea.
Or you might have expected more than just listening to a tale perhaps stunts or jump scares, unfortunately had you read the description BEFORE booking, you would have known that these were NOT included.
- tour guided by American actor.
We do storytelling at professional level, language diction and articulation is primary; reason why we have Americans, Slovenians, Czechs actors, all of them with native English level.
Had you specifically wanted a Czech actor/actress, you could have contacted us beforehand and we would have gladly booked you with our Czech actress.
Now, about the restaurant door closed, rarely in winter the passage that leads to the tyn church is shut down at early hours; the only way to reach the inner courtyard, is by asking the restaurant the courtesy to let us in. Most of times they do; probably on this time they didn’t for unknown reason. You have to understand that as private company, we don’t own the Prague city centre ; every house has its own landlord. That’s why in our terms and conditions it is stated we shall not be liable for any default in the tour caused by conditions beyond our control including such circumstances.
Good luck in your travels

Our guide George was an excellent storyteller. He spoke loud and clear so it was easy to imagine everything he said. He was really good at involving the audience in the storytelling, which made everyone laugh the whole time. Safe to say our tour would not have been the same without George as our guide.
So if you like ghost stories then I would recommend this tour for you, and hope that you get George as your guide.

Also didn't seem to be appropriate asking for tips, which turns out to "put a food on the table" for Liam (his actual words). The tour costs 20 eur per person, per tour there were approx 14 people. The tour doesn't have any extra costs. And lasts almost 2 hours. So you can do the math.
Liam didn't put no extra effort in making us feel a bit more special.. even when it's cold outside is it really so hard to bring a hot wine, punsch or whatever. No surprises. Nothing. Just stories..all the same. We have had free walking tours (paid with tips) in Jerusalem, Rome, Tel-Aviv, Tbilisi.. haven't regretted ever, here we decided to try something new and it left us with huge disappointment.

Dear customer, we are sorry to hear that you did not appreciate the tour.
Now, let us shared a word with you about your points.
First of all, we always point out that Mysterium Tours does not craft and offer typical tours for tourists. These are immersive storytelling experiences, in form of a walking tour guided and performed by professional storytellers, who welcome all lovers of ghost tales, legends, and those who love gothic fiction. It is something certainly not for everyone.
Now, Mysterium Tours is a small company made of freelance actors that perform mostly in theaters and film industry, certainly has a different organization compared with free tours company. About the price: let me clear up that it is include VAT, reseller commission, wage for the actor, costs for the customer service, booking system, payment transaction fees, etc.
About drinks, for now it is stated in the tour's description the tours does not include drinks, interior of sites visited and no jump scare or other surprises. We rely on the stories itself, the storytelling skills of our narrators and finally the magical atmosphere of the Old Town streets after dark.
Best in your travels,
Andrea

The walking night tour is something I’d seriously recommend to ghost story and legends lovers ASWELL as people that aren’t really into it. My partner and I took the tour with the hilarious tour guide, George, who made the experience fun by interacting with the group. He was able to hold our attention by not necessarily making light of the stories but including modern comedy into them. My partner isn’t a big fan of myths and legends but thoroughly enjoyed the tour. The tour leaves you with a bit more history to the centre aswell.

The tour was really interesting and the guide made the mood for all the scenery of the stories that he told us. I and my friend were the only ones to take place in the tour so we had an experience of one of a kind. The guide was really helpful. He even tried to speak English (We got a booking for the Italian one duo to cancellation for the English one)

I really enjoyed our Mystery Walking Tour. Found Jana to an excellent guide and a very competent story teller. There were 10 of us on the tour and Jana made sure we were all able to hear her fantastic tales of the ghosts of " Old Prague" We had originally booked this tour for our 2nd night in Prague but had to bring it forward a night which was fine as it gave us a great insight into the history of the Old Town and Jewish Quarter. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone coming to Prague.

Not bad. The guide's performance was overly dramatic to the point if being comical, with a lot of long dramatic pauses, but the stories were still enjoyable.
The guide walked very quickly between locations without looking back, despite the rain and large crowds, and eventually we lost him half way through.

Hi. We are a big family (4 adults, 1 teenager, and a 5 months old baby) and would like to join the tour. Is it ok to join with baby carriage?
Thanks.
Written February 9, 2020
I cannot see any reason why you couldn't enjoy this tour with your 5mth old in a baby carriage. The walk itself is at a very relaxed pace and has lots of stops. I am sure if you emailed the tour operator they could give you a better view on what to expect and put your mind at rest. Only thing I should add is to wrap up well as it can be very cold!!!
