- hugo_1410 contributionsGo for it!We had a excellent tour with Kathy. Informative and fun! A lot of different and very good beers at the two oldest breweries in town.Written May 21, 2023
- MaxB17730 contributionsGood Tour to try beer and see different parts of the city! This Tour was really nice! We went to three different Stops and tried good beers! The guide Paul did a great job, telling us about the beer and some history facts about Prague. I would recommend this tour! The startig point was a bit tricky, but there was a man woh showed us the right way. Thank you again!Written May 14, 2023
- Phil J0 contributionsGreat experience with Phil. This is the third beer tour we’ve done in various countries and it didn’t disappoint. The American host - Phil - was really knowledgeable about the brewing process and the time whizzed by. We stopped at three places to taste. Two were very traditional and had been brewing for hundreds of years with the third a more more modern location where we tried a tasting flight of 10 beers in small glasses. We had a really good time and were out for around 3 and a half hours. Make sure you ask Phil about the difference between Czech Budweiser and American Budweiser. It’s a great story. Big thanks to Phil for an enjoyable afternoon.Written March 3, 2023
- deboraho5450 contributionsWorth bookingOur very informative guide Phil was brilliant, he knew everything about Czech brewing, local history, he was engaging and very interesting. we went to 3 breweries, to drink not to watch the process. It was fantastic, though, some cheese and bread would have been even better, after 3 hours.Written September 7, 2022
- DocRunner0 contributionsA really enjoyable way to spend the afternoon and learn more about beerPhillip was a wonderful and knowledgeable tour guide. We learned about beer and Czech culture. 3 breweries, 4 beers - more than enough for us. Thoroughly recommendedWritten September 4, 2022

- nathanmV1737IZ0 contributionsPints with PaulPaul (a.k.a. Gary) is certainly somewhat of a local legend in Prauge. At each brewery we were kindly welcomed by the barkeeps and Paul's natural charm and charisma was on display. He had us hanging on every word with his fun facts and wit. A few of the highlight quotes include “always look up”, “age is just a number” and “dark beer leads to huge…personality”. Would strongly recommend a Paul’s Pints tour of Prague.Written June 28, 2022

- DWG18610 contributionsPre-tour with South MountainDid this tour as a pre tour to South Mountain's Allied Air Campaign. Even though I had just flown in from the States a few hours earlier the guide was so interesting and engaging I had no trouble being entertained for the evening. Even found a dark beer that was palatable. Well worth the time and money. Easy pace and a friendly atmosphere.Written October 7, 2019

This was one of my favorite experiences while in Prague. Not only was the beer expert (the guy from New Zealand) extremely knowledgeable but the experience was basically a comedy show mixed with a beer tasting. Highly recommend.

Martin was our guide and lead us on an interesting pub crawl of old and new establishments. He was delightful as a host and passionate about Czech beer and history. One highlight was joining a table with a friend celebrating a birthday in one of the oldest pubs in Prague. It was a wonderful exposure to the Czech beer culture that I will remember.
Martin took great care of us on that evening and stayed with us until our Uber driver picked us up. We hope to run into him again some day and share another beer.

Steve was friendly from the start. Made us feel part of his team. He was interesting and informative without ever being boring. Lots of good relevant information. He kept us drinking at a steady rate with his frequent toasts and his slightly eccentric personality.

Paul and his colleague were great. Very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and informative. However, we were paired up with a large group of silly, rude, young people and they made it tough to have an adult conversation and hear the guides.
I realize that this isn’t the fault of the guides or the company but it really affected the overall experience. My guess is that they heard it was a “beer experience” and just wanted to drink and act like obnoxious teenagers…which they did.
Overall, I’d recommend it but be wary that your fellow attendees can seriously detract from the experience.

We were a group of 12 people that went for a private tasting. Our guide was lovely and we had a good and interesting time trying the beers. However, our guide was 20 minutes late which wouldn’t have been a problem (she was easy to forgive) if we would have been able to stay in the venue for a bit longer. However there were two guys from the bar present that overall gave quite a rude impression. They were really keen on us leaving about 10 minutes before our time ended as the pub “needed our tables” (there were plenty of other empty tables). Overall it felt a bit disappointing that we really only had 1 hour tasting when we paid for 1,5 hours. We know the tasting isn’t all about finishing the beers but we were hoping to do so…

Absolute waste of time. We booked in the morning, paid and got email confirmation. We arrived on time to the stated place and they claim to have no knowledge of the booking and said there was no one to take us on our trip. Very poor service, and a waste of an afternoon/evening of our short stay. Be careful booking with them 😠

1 A. Super informative. Short distances. In a cellar that creates atmosphere. No sighing, just 7 x 0.2 litres of beer with great information from Philipp.

Steve our beer guide was excellent , funny & knowledgeable. We were a huge group -19, this was too big, we were squashed into a small room - I’d read this on previous reviews & the companies response was that normally a bigger room is booked, yet again this has happened? How about limit the group size. The tour is advertised as 1 hour 30 minutes. We didn’t leave for the bar until after 5, it was about a 5-6 minute walk away. Steve told us we had the room booked until 6.15???? Even if you started the time from 5 & not when we arrive at the bar it was already short. We literally had an hour. It got more & more rushed as it went on, no fault of Steve’s. He also had to leave immediately after the tasting to meet another group, so no chance to speak to him about any of the beers. It was a mad rush for everyone to finish their beers, with staff clearing up around us for the next group in at 6.30! It’s a shame, as Steve was great & we learnt some interesting facts, but the rush at the end spoilt it. Oh & the cheese & crackers! The tiniest bits of cheese on cocktail sticks, enough for one each. Quite a few crackers. Totally misleading from the companies description. Sorry but would not recommend. The 2 stars are for Steve.

Thank you for your review.
We are sorry that you did not have a good experience with us.
The maximum for the bar we use is 20 people. We had another group that our partner company that sells our tours had not informed us of and we needed to provide the tour for them after. We had tried to contact all our customers to ask them to come earlier than the scheduled time so it was not rushed.
For the snacks, we have spoken to the bartenders to put more on the table as each person should have plenty to eat.
We are happy that Steve was able to provide you with some facts about the beers.
Sorry again for the experience and we have spoken to the necessary people and partner companies to prevent this from happening again.
Kind Regards,
Czech Beer Tours

It was a great time trying all these kinds of Czech beer in a company of people from different cultures. Thomas was a great tamada, making a friendly, warm atmosphere and an experienced beer master, sharing a deep insight into Czech beer traditions and habits.

I booked this tasting experience for my birthday, and it totally made the day unforgettable. Be aware you never know how many people might be doing the same tasting session as you, we were booked in on a Monday, and as it turned out there was just me and the wife, but speaking to Thomas, the previous Thursday, he had 35 people doing the tasting. Depending on how many people are doing it, depends where they take you, we had a small bar all to ourselves, we were each given a glass of each beer to try, with the bottle, and Thomas would explain to subtle differences between them, cheese and salted biscuits were laid on, the time allocated is just 2 hours, so no hanging around. You do feel a bit rushed towards the end, it will all depend upon how quick you drink, but rush them at your peril. Well worth doing, such a hard job for Thomas having to sit there talk about beer and drink them as well.
