  • Learn more than you would on your own about the area’s history from your guide
  • Exploring on foot gives you a ground-up perspective on the area
  • This half-day tour leaves plenty of time for other activities
What to expect
  • Meet your guide and group in central Prague, and set off on your walking tour. You won't have to worry about fussing with a map or planning a route because your guide has planned out a comprehensive Prague Castle itinerary for you. Cross the Vltava River and catch your first views of the castle as your guide provides an orientation. Then climb the hillside and enter the baroque Mala Strana district. Pause to snap photos of the World War II memorial and St. Nicholas Church, and then take the tram (own cost) up to the castle. Enter through the North Gate, passing the Powder Bridge and the Royal Gardens on the way to Hradčany Square. See the Scwarzenberg Palace, the Second and Third Courtyards, and the enormous St. Vitus Cathedral. After checking out the church's interior, head for the Golden Lane, where your guide sheds light on the past inhabitants, including Franz Kafka, goldsmiths, and fusiliers. Get much more information on this history-rich area from your guide than you would exploring on your own. End up at a spot on the hillside that looks out over the city, a perfect vantage point for a last photo. Alternatively, walk back to the Charles Bridge together, where your guided tour ends.

Great 2 Tours Day with Ian
Oct 2021 • Solo
I had a great time on this tour with our guide Ian. I did the free walking tour in the morning and enjoyed it so much that I also joined the castle tour in the evening.
Ian (guide for both tours) was very knowledable, chill and funny, interacted with everyone and just did a great job over all.
He also provided a Google map with all his restaurant recommendarions all over town which was super helpful.
I had a great day, good overview of the most important points of interest and lots of background knowledge to make sense of what we were seeing.
Thanks Ian :)

Great tour with a great guide!
Our guide was Ian for both the free walking tour and the castle tour in Prague. He was a great guide that showed us all the important places in the centre and summarised the Prague history perfectly without it being boring. Ian had amazing restaurant suggestions and made sure to interact with everyone on the tour.

Worth every penny
A first thing to do when coming to Prague because you really get to know the main attractions. Ian was our guide for both the district walk and the castle tour and he deserved every penny. Informative, chill, fun and just the right amount of facts&trivia in great English. His restaurants&bars recommendations were really helpful and saved us a lot of trouble.

Prague tours with Ian
Jul 2021 • Couples
Me and my boyfriend have done both, free tour and Prague castle tour with Ian- here I would like to ask Sandeman to please give this man a raise, he deserves it!!!!
We could understand everything perfectly and Gained a lot of insider knowledge which made us fall in love with the city even more. All in all we had a fun day with lots of walking but the sore feet in the end were definitely worth it:) thanks to Ian for the interesting and memorable day!
If you consider doing a tour but don’t want to spend sums of money then I would definitely recommend the tips-based tour through Prague. The price of the castle tour too was absolutely justified and not overpriced at all.

Bad apple

Was walking through the square in Prague and one of the Arab tour operators, red t-shirt, dark skin, sunglasses and stubble, shouted "Mark" to his philipino colleague very loud in our ear, and then told me to F Off when I objected! When I responded he told me, in front of 50 people, to "F my Family" quote unquote! The whole square was shocked at this individuals rude, loud showing and then swearing! Unbelievable Sandemans!

Ian from Sandeman's: Castle Tour + City Walking Tour
An absolutely amazing guide, detailed historical accounts, quick questions and doubts resolution and highly knowledgeable. All this and Ian still manages to stay funny throughout the tour!

Tour got cancelled without prior info, no refund yet
Jul 2020 • Friends
We reached the departure spot at 09:59 for the 10am tour and the tour guide wasn't there. We contacted the tour operator who responded saying tour has been cancelled and offered us to join the next slot or get a refund. We asked for the refund and tour operator insisted on joining the next slot. It's been 4 days and haven't yet received the refund.
Overall, terrible experience.
