Initially founded in 1780 to shield the city of Prague, Terezin was converted into a Jewish ghetto during World War II, where thousands of lives were taken during the Nazi occupation. Begin your tour in Prague, where you’ll hop aboard your coach for the journey to the camp. Once there, explore the grounds as your guide provides narration about the lives of the prisoners and the tragedies that took place. Afterward, pay homage to the thousands of the camp’s victims at the Terezin Memorial. The only institution of its kind in the Czech Republic, you’ll have the chance to experience educational exhibits and further your understanding of the Holocaust during this eye-opening and unique tour. Your tour will conclude with transportation back to your original departure point in Prague.

This tour was shockingly bad and we are extremely disappointed in the quality of the services provided. We’ve been in various European capitals, have taken multiple tours and had never seen anything like this.

We specifically booked this tour because of Russian language, however most of the tour was in English as the other couple in the group was Italian (and they did not provide an Italian speaking guide for them).

Our guide (Karen) had quite poor language skills in both English and Russian, and wasn’t able to answer simple questions. She basically provided no relevant information, except for random facts and dates.

She took us to the museum, however left us wandering around the museum for an hour on our own while she was sitting downstairs. In the meantime, other groups had guides taking them through the museum explaining things and providing interesting details.

The second guide we were handed over to at the Terezin small fortress was also not fluent in English (Russian was not offered as an option) and again, couldn’t answer simple questions, such as was there any heating in the dorm. It felt like both of them had memorized a script and were only able to share the info from it.

Simply horrible, I would not recommend this.

The tour was not bad, but clearly overpriced. Our guide Helen seemed to have some good knowledge about the topic and Czech history in general, but her English was quite broken, and many references to the world history quite questionable. Peter, the guide in Terezín, however, left a fantastic impression.
The tour needs better timing. We had only 15 min left for visiting the museum of Terezin ghetto (last part), which definitely was not enough. It would be nice that the organizers could be a bit more flexible and adjust timing accordingly if necessary.

I gave it 4 stars because it was good but seemed a bit rushed and English speaking guides spoke too fast. Also there were some additional places on the Terezin Museum brochure that they didn’t take us to. Bus was comfortable transportation. Luckily there was no one requiring a toilet on the trip as there was one on the bus

We booked this tour with our elderly parents (in their 70s). These are the pros and cons:
Pros: Price is good for what you get: guide, transport and three locations (camp, museum, incinerator/cemetery location
    Cons:
    1. It was very rushed
    2. The guide at the camp was very hard to understand and we didn't have the opportunity to see things outside of the one hour tour (which is a quite a bit).
    3. The tour at the camp was only one hour
    4. 15 minutes at the museum (third stop) was frustrating. Needs at least 45 minutes (and that is rushing)
    5. This tour is advertised as six hours. It is only five.
Recommendations: Start this tour one hour earlier

I found the tour guide to be rather disrespectful and uninterested in this important historical place. She gave little to no information on the way there, no real information about the background as to what was happening in Prague at the time, and at the camp was more interested in speaking about the floods of 2002 and how expensive the damages were and how Covid affected tourism. It was really a shame. The guide that is provided by Terezin at the actual camps was great.

Petr was such a good tour guide. His knowledge and passion was infectious and he really made the trip through enjoyed. It was such a sobering experience in many ways. Would recommend to anyone visiting, if Petr is your tour guide you will have a great experience.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and events of the small and large fort/camps. The history of both locations is very upsetting.

The small/fort camp guide also provided extensive information about the camp history and the events that took place on the site.

Unfortunately, the overall tour was too long. The tour should have ended after small/fort camp walkthrough. The remaining portion of the tour at the large camp/fort last for hours and only restated everything learned and experienced from the small/fort camp. Recommend that you only tour the small/fort camp and shorten the tour.

We signed up for this half day tour and found that the elements from the tour guide were a great compliment to the sites you will visit. There are still so many things to read at each site, but to have a guide help you understand things in a faster manner can be a time saver. On the tour we went to the small fortress, the large fortress, the museum dedicated to children and the crematorium. At each site our guide was very informative and helpful to understand the history of what happened in these buildings. I would highly recommend a visit.

A very interesting piece of history, we took a 4-5 hour trip here whilst in Prague. We got picked up from a meeting point and taken about 1 hour by coach to Terezin, while in the coach the guide explained about the history of the place and the significance of it, once we arrived we visited a few places with our guide before coming to the main part of the tour where we were passed to a professional guide of the camp.
We visited many rooms and areas around the camp and the professional guide gave us plenty of interesting information.
The coach also returned us to the same spot it picked us up from in prague.

The guide on the bus on the drive was very hard to hear over his microphone - not loud enough. That drive time would have been a good time to give an in depth history of the prison-turned concentration camp. (45 minute drive). Maybe he did and I just couldn't hear it?
Felt rushed at the camp location and no opportunity to ask questions along the tour, just at the end, when it was too late to ask.
Not enough time at the first museum, which had alot of details about the Terezin Ghetto, where we were visiting.
We got alot of questions answered and information from a tour attendee who had read some books before coming to Terezin!
