Educational and Informative
Very interesting visit to Kutna Hora, ideally paced for someone who is not quite as mobile as they once were. Very good and informative multi lingual commentary, which gave me all the information I needed and more.

Kutna Hora Day Trip
Nov 2019 • Couples
Eleven of us took the train for a day tour to Kutna Hora with Colorado Dave. I wanted to see the Sedlic ossuary chapel there in particular, but enjoyed the whole day. Being a 60 year old woman with occasional arthritis flair ups in my hips, I wondered if the walking would be too much, with walking to the train station and walking around the town, but I was able to do it with no problems. The bone church was fascinating. There were so many of them and I found it amazing that a person could think of making such ornamentations using human bones. We were able to take pictures, but we were told that in the new year, pictures will no longer be allowed. Going on the train was enjoyable and relaxing. The large St Barbara's cathedral was beautiful and it was interesting to learn the history of both buildings. The restaurant was also a nice experience and was quite tasty.

Kunta hora a day to remember
Jan 2020 • Solo
It was a lovely day with our guide sara, a lot of historical information she provided to us bout both churches, trip was by bus, departure point was near old town square, better to do such trip in cold season as there would be a lot of walking around the city as my apple watch said i walked 12,500 steps in that day, also keep coins with you because public toilets are charging with coins, i did not have cash with me as i was depending exclusively on credit cards and Apple Pay, but at the end of our journy there was a break for food, so i went to cafe restaurant with a toilet in it 😜
Churches are wonderful specially st. Barbara

kutna hora day trip
Aug 2019 • Solo
I was so excited for this trip. The guide was knowledgeable but I found it a little difficult to follow as she was translating in three languages. First it’s hot here and so I booked this “ac” coach for the ac. I found it to be no better or worse than the trains so not really a perk. Several of us were fanning the whole ride.
Once at the bone church you get about 10 min. Really didn’t need much more.
Then you are taken to the town where you visit the cathedral which is stunning. After this you walk into the town square area where there are only a few dining places where she tells you that you have 30 min to spend but it’s not enough time to really eat. Soooo. Maybe this is the standard but I was definitely not satisfied and then a very hot ride back.

For a self-proclaimed loner, not a bad group tour
Jul 2019
I'm not a fan of tour groups primarily because traveling with strangers means juggling the different priorities and attention spans of a large group of people. My group was no different from the standard group -- easily distracted people, the lady who wouldn't stop talking, or the couple that was constantly walking off to buy a snack. This meant that moving through Kutna Hora and Sedlec at a reasonable pace was a challenge. We ended up waiting for people to catch up, meet at the right moment, etc. at various points of the tour. I was not necessarily a fan of the tour guide. I felt her explanations of the points of interest were not very in-depth and did not provide much of the interesting history I was hoping to get with a tour guide. I would have done this tour alone with a well-written guide book and perhaps would have gotten a better sense of the history and significance of what I was seeing. In the end, the convenience of traveling to and from Prague was a major motivation for booking this tour.

....so our final sightseeing tour of the week was Kutna Hora. We had visited somewhere like this when on a prevous holiday in Italy which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We were met on the square by a very bubbly enthusiastic man called RYAN HUME. Immediately you knew by his personality the type of day that lay ahead. His knowledge was immense on all the subjects he covered from the bone chapel to St Barbara's and Kutna Hora itself. He made it fun, very very interesting and it was an absolute pleasure to be in his and others company on this fantastic tour. Make no bones about it, he is definately the guide to take you on this trip.

Well worth a visit
David was our guide and he was excellent. He gave us as much information as possible in the time allotted. He does need to speak up a little and also perhaps slow down a bit. I didn’t always hear what he was saying. Nevertheless it was a very enjoyable trip and it was good to get out of Prague and a bit of the countryside. Kutná Hora is a beautiful part of the country.
