About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- ulangutan0 contributionsBrilliant walking tour with a wonderful guideMet Eszter at 1700 at the main square & we were given a fantastic tour of the old town, covering topics such as the local noble families who built & occupied the castle, a brief history of the city itself, and the local landmarks. Eszter is an awesome guide, knowledgeable & funny, so a genuinely entertaining woman. We try to book yours the day we arrive to get our bearings & this really helped us out. Money & time well spent!!Written April 5, 2023
- inejea0 contributionsSouthern Bohemia Tour with a great guideOur guide Eszter was great! I highly recommend her for private tours in the Southern Bohemia area. She provided several helpful tips which made our trip as perfect as imagined. She speaks perfect English, has great knowledge of the country's history so it was a pleasure to visit the area with her. Thanks Eszter!Written September 19, 2021
- Lisa S0 contributionsLovely way to avoid the crowds.Eszter was kind enough to add a time to accomodate an evening tour for us. We were able to see and hear about the history of the Castle before strolling through the streets and experiencing the charm and ambiance as the sun went down. We arrived at the perfect overlook just minutes before the exterior lighting on the Castle turned on for the evening. She gave us fantastic meal recommendations and a special gift to remember Chesky Krumlov. We enjoyed and recommend her tour.Written October 29, 2019
- KnobCreekFan0 contributionsEnlightening Cesky Krumlov Evening TourExtremely knowledgeable guide for the town and good overview of the regional history. Eszzter was able to focus the tour on our particular interests in architecture. Her English is quite good and broad enough to provide some more nuanced descriptions. Her Sorbonne training shows. I would highly recommend spending an hour with her to get a deeper knowledge of how this town developed.Written October 5, 2019
- Jay B0 contributionsWonderful and InformativeEszter provided us with a wonderful stroll through the streets and to some of the landmarks of Cesky Krumlov. She was quite knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. I highly recommend this tour as a way to get to know the town and learn some interesting facts and history. It was the highlight of our stay!Written June 10, 2019
- Stan J0 contributionsA Walking Tour With a True ExperWe took this tour with Maria who was raised in Cesky Krumlov. Not only did she give an excellent tour of the town with the history from long ago, but as a native of the town she could give a great prospective of the more recent history. We learned so much on this tour that we would not have known if we didn't take the tour. I highly recommend this tour.Written July 24, 2018
- PlayHarderTours0 contributionsPerfect Tour of Cesky KrumlovEszter provided a private walking tour of Cesky Krumlov, she was knowledgeable and very informative. We work with a lot of guides in our business and Eszter is one of the best. She went over and above what a typical guide would offer to ensure that we had the perfect experience. We will definitely use her again and recommend that our clients do as well!Written May 7, 2018
- Leslie k S0 contributionsHistory, History, HistoryMy daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed being on a private tour with Eszter. We both loved hearing an in-depth history on Germany/Austria/Czech Republic. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I would encourage anyone who goes to Cesky to spend the time with her to see the wonderful small town. She picked us up at our hotel, because I would have gotten lost among all the tiny roads and alleys. I got her name from this site and I am so glad we did this tour.Written April 7, 2018
- Vicki M0 contributionsInformative and enjoyableWe thoroughly enjoyed the guided walk through Cesky Krumlov with Eszter. She is very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area, so the tour gave us good context for understanding other aspects of our 2days in CK. Eszter was very flexible and relaxed so we felt comfortable to ask questions. Eszter also provided helpful tips about places to explore further, good restaurants/cafes, and helped book us in for the Baroque theatre tour (which we would also recommend btw!).Written October 8, 2017
- Rambler2200 contributionsCesky Krumalov tourEszter took my wife and I on a 2 hour walking tour of CK. We really enjoyed the tour and her company. She is very knowledgeable and has a friendly, relaxed way about her. It was time and money very well spent. We would strongly recommend her.Written August 24, 2017
- gdenbyUK0 contributionsExcellent private guide - knows her architecture!Eszter Sarody is an excellent English-speaking guide - friendly and informative, willing to walk at your pace! A local lady with 'secret knowledge' of some of the interesting nooks and crannies around Cesky Krumlov. We organised an hour with hotel pick-up, adding a little extra at the end. We did not have ideal weather, but this was a great way to familiarise ourselves with this small and charming small town. Thank-you Eszter. MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE VIATOR APP - it's the only way to pick-up the e-Voucher and obtain Eszter's contact details and arrange a time (I wasted 2 hours trying to find it and obtain support on the TripAdvisor site in April 2017 - lazy TripAdvisor programing!). It is nearly as difficult to enter a review - the VIATOR App has no 'memory' of the trips you've completed (the App and web developers need a good kick up the pants)!Written April 30, 2017
- janene20090 contributionsWalking tour of Cesky KrumlovWe really enjoyed our 3hr walking tour of Cesky Krumlov. Eszter is a wonderful guide and her English is perfect. We learnt so much about the history and area of Cesky Krumlov, which we would not have discovered walking around on our own. We would highly recommended Eszter as your guide.Written March 1, 2017
- Niels_VB_120 contributionsFriendly and flexible tour guideEszter is a very friendly tour guide who spoke the English language quite well. We booked her one day in advance, and was flexible with respect to the meeting point and time. She took her time to lead us around Cesky Krumlov and provided us with some interesting background stories about the town and the region. Price/quality is excellent, and I would definitely recommend this tour to others!Written February 3, 2017
- Tringfellows0 contributionsFriendly, relaxed, informative and much appreciated...We pre-booked Eszter for a half day tour of Cesky Krumlov. Even in September this architectural masterpiece is still exceedingly popular with tourists. Many come out from the capital just for the day or are simply stopping off between Austria and Prague, thus making the place somewhat overcrowded and frenetic during the day time. Therefore we greatly appreciated Eszter’s more civilised approach allowing us to explore this historic gem at a measured pace. Along with the historical information, local insights and observations it was a pleasure to meet someone who had immersed herself in the community for some time (Eszter is actually Hungarian!). Our tour took in not only the old town and Latran areas but also the suburb of Plesivic, although the latter’s only real site of significance is the Egan Schiele’s house. What really added to our experience was Eszter’s unsought assistance with acquiring tickets for the castle tour (which can be a hassle, given the queues and the fact that prior reservations by individuals is not permitted!) and also making a dinner reservation for us. We simply mentioned these ideas in conversation and she immediately offered her much appreciated help. The tickets and reservations were secured within a few hours.Written November 1, 2016
- Vera G0 contributionsA Fabulous TourWe hugely enjoyed our time with Eszter. Cesky Krumlov is both fascinating and charming. Ezster brought it to life with her insights into the history and culture of the town and its people. We spent more than two hours with her and could easily have gone on longer. Both of us felt she provided us with a far deeper understanding of the town, its geographic significance and its history. Eszter is smart, articulate, energetic and knowledgeable. As such she is a wonderful guide and the opportunity to tour with her should not be missed.Written September 14, 2016

We had a fabulous morning walking around Cesky Krumlov with our guide, Eszter. She was amazingly interesting and shared lots of fun facts. She is obviously into art but didn't get too specific as she knew we were not really that way inclined. The really good thing was that we did the castle tour in the afternoon and we didn't feel like it was a double up on the facts at all. An added bonus was that Eszter gave us some postcards that she had illustrated herself of various buildings, building parts and views. She's very talented.

We went for a day trip to Cesky Krumlov, a medieval town a few hours outside prague. The castle and the views from various parts is truly breathtaking. There is lots of walking to be done ,both uphill and downhill. Many sure you wear good walking shoes.

Eszter was great. She knows the history of the place - and pointed out many things we never would have noticed without her. Ezster has an art history background - and that was apparent during the tour. She keeps a book of historic postcards and photographs that helped us imagine what life was like in castle days. She also gave us a little gift at the end of the tour. Great English speaker, too!

Eszter was the perfect guide, very knowledgeable and extremely entertaining! Not only was she able to show us the historical side of CK, but she was able to suggest great places to eat as well as other activities during our visit.

What an amazing tour, Ezster’s knowledge and historic recount of the centuries of life in this stunning town were just amazing and we have left much better informed than when we started and grateful for such a special experience. Thank you Ezster, just brilliant.

Ezster knows the history of the town and region extremely well - in fact she even had information to share about a minor house where one of my relatives was born - and she is a wonderful human being to spend a couple of hours with. Altogether outstanding and great value.

Eszter picked us up at our hotel. (Good thing, because it's hard to get your bearings until you've been there a day or so.) She wanted to do the tour "however" we wanted to do it. (It was no problem to pop into the market to get some bottled water.) Her understanding of all European WW2 history is amazing, and we asked so many ?'s. It's my first private tour to ever have, since I always go with groups for city tours. It was well worth it. Both my daughter and I enjoyed it thoroughly. She also had recommendations for eating.

We would like to take this tour, but would like to do it on Sunday, July 8th. Would it be available that day?

You have to discuss availability with Eszter and make your booking directly with her. I will tell you that she was an excellent guide and I recommend her to all of my travel agency clients. Let me know if you need any other help, and have a wonderful time in the Czech Republic

Hello, Ezster and team. I will be in Cesky Krumlov in july, on a Monday. Unfortunatelly, I don't see possibility to change the date and I heard that the main part of the castle is closed on Monday. Is that so? Are we loosing too much in not seeing the Castle? How about the castle's gardens? Will they be closed too? I appreciate your kind answer, so that we can book a tour. Thank you.

My wife & I are due in Cesky Krumlov late morning or early afternoon of the 28th of Aug. would you be available for a private tour around that time? Thanks, John & Karen
