I've done one day trip to Cusco and environs, second day Sacred valley and then third day Machu Picchu. I really appreciated the good organisation (it was a package trip and I was a solo traveler so everywhere there was a driver or a taxi waiting for me). Apart from one time when we had to change a van and wait until get on a bus instead and another time waiting longer time for a driver before going to the airport everything was scheduled perfectly. I would have appreciated more time to spend at the actual sites of historic interest and more free time there in general. I would have also appreciated more historical facts and less recomendations where to take a photo :-) But it's a very good option if you want to see a lot of monuments in short time and leave the organisation on someone else.
