- alexanderbH6188IG0 contributionsgreat open water referral dive for kids!!!!We chose Rincon Diving and Snorkeling for our 12-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy's open water referral dives as the final part of their open water scuba certification. We did the online and pool part back home in Atlanta. The organizing and scheduling part was very easy. I spoke with Rambo on the phone two times, and everything was clear. Our dive instructor was Claire. She was great—very patient and thoughtful (especially 20 feet down with our 10-year-old). It took two days and four dives total for the kids to get their certification. Great place to get the final part of your scuba certification if you are visiting PR. not as expensive as some other places. We would definitely come back!!!Written May 17, 2024

- Kenleyonthebay0 contributionsGreat Morning Shore Diving!Dive Master Greg was great! He took us to a nice location where the shore entry was easy with a pleasant swim to the drop site. There were lots of great things to see like the eel garden and a sea turtle on the way to the wall. The wall was teaming with life including some barracudas! After the dive it was easy to stop by the shop and clean my gear before heading. All around a good experience. If you go ask Rambo to blow the conch shell!Written April 10, 2024

- 495jaeyoungl0 contributionsBest Scuba Diving Experience. We were very nervous at the beginning since we both are afraid of being in the water. However, Megan was a superb and friendly staff who helped a lot in teaching and guiding us through. Even though it was our very first time, we were able to relax and enjoy this amazing and unforgettable experience. If we were to come back to Puerto Rico, we will definitely come here again for advanced scuba diving. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!Written March 18, 2024
- Ashwin90 contributionsLife-changing experience for my teenagers. This was a spectacular event. After a lot of snorkeling, this was the first time ever scuba diving for my 14 year old son and 18 year old daughter. My daughter took a while to get her ears equalized and figure out buoyancy, but our guide Greg Nellermoe was super patient with her and she never got scared. After about 10-15 minutes of that, we started swimming underwater to and over the reefs and she did great. She relaxed enough to start noticing fish etc. My son is less fearful and ok with some risk taking in general but actually had a harder time—felt claustrophobic with all the gear and breathing through the regulator he said. That said, again the patience and good vibes coming from our Padi Divemaster Greg seemed to keep him engaged and he quickly got it. He took got excited being down there. When we finished despite sharing that excitement, he commented on the anxiety claustrophobia, when I asked if he wanted to do the certification. He hesitated which is unusual for him. I think he will do it. So hats off to Greg, because anyone who’s raised a 13 year old knows how easy it is for them to opt out of an activity the second they feel anxious or scared. That my son kept with it despite that was huge. Thank you Greg and Rincon Diving for an amazing, life changing experience!Written February 26, 2024

- Catch Fire Mark... B0 contributionsUnderwhelmingFirst, the reef at the marine reserve is underwhelming and in sad condition. Not much coral and very little quantity of fish or sea life. If you have snorkeled anywhere else and had a good experience- this will be a disappointment. Second, The actual time snorkeling is an hour, so just understand what you are paying for. Lastly, no instruction from guide regarding watch fins in shallow areas. A tour company should be strong advocates for protecting this habitat.Written December 4, 2023
- chrislQ3682RB0 contributionsWorst experience of renting anything ever.My 12 year daughter, brother inlaw and I went to Rincon diving. Rambo was a rockstar with getting us sorted and letting us know what cool places to dive. My daughter and I were recently certified and my brother in law is a DIVE MASTER. We had a great time on our first dive. At the end of our dive one of the weight pockets from her bcd that slides in and locks fell out but it maybe it wasn't all the way in. The next day we paid for a guided dive with Aquatica in aguadilla. My dive master brother inlaw put on our weights and the other dive master from Aquatica check it as well. As we decend I get to the bottom and immediately one of my weights fall out. After 2 dive masters checked my gear. Being under weight I surface. The dive master leading us cannot put the weight back in. It's not latching. My brother inlaw and I tag team and get it settled in. The guide tell me to hold it if I can because it may come out again. We start the dive again and 12 minutes in my daughter is gone. She's next to me then 45 seconds later I check and we have a diver seperation. We search for a minute. As we are searching I see her at the surface. Sigh of relief. I ask her did she loose a weight she said yes. So 12 minutes in this dive is over and the 2nd dive we have planned are over. We can't dive anymore because she doesn't have the weight. Since the gear was checked and double-checked this was an issue of faulty equipment and we heard from other dive pros that Rincon Diving has given bad equipment to other divers. We are pretty upset because this was our last dive together as a family because my brother inlaw has a flight later the next day. We get back to Rincon diving and not only are they not willing to refund gear rental they want to charge us a additional fee for losing the weights. Being a small business owner and dealing with customers who are upset I understand this is a opportunity to convert a bad situation into a good one with great customer service. Rincon took the approach of threatening to call the police. They were so ready to weaponize the bully and scare us into walking away. Rambo told us many times he will call the police. We have to pay for the weight and we weren't even offered a return for the tanks we couldn't use due to the weight issue. The guys at Aquatica found the weight( can you believe that?) and we drove 50 minutes back the the shop and then 50 minutes back to Rincon. As we were calming down I told my brother inlaw I would be ok with paying half because he did a great job yesterday filling us in and getting us set up. My only problem is he threatened to call the cops which is using them as a weapon to get his way since there was no yelling or aggression on our part. When we arrive at Rincon diving with the lost weight we all seem pretty calm. They start talking about a partial refund which I'm willing to accept even though I think it's a missed opportunity to create people who will love your business for taking care of them. I say" Rambo we came in here yesterday and you were a rockstar and took great care of us, My issue is you threatened to call the police on me threatening my safety in front of my daughter" he says" I will call them right now" I listened to him talk and go through everything and call us liars and theives, and insult our integrity. I didn't say a word, I let him speak and showed him respect that he did not earn. He refused to let me speak or listen to anything I was saying. He raised his voice so I couldn't get a word in. I am deeply saddened by our experience here. Rambo was so rude, insulting and disrespectful that my sweet kid felt like she had to defend herself from this adult. She handled his insults and disrespect with so much grace and I couldn't be prouder of her. Needless to say Rincon diving did nothing to make us feel whole and went out of there way to belittle a 12 year old new diver. I would recommend caution when dealing with them. I hope your experience is much better than ours was. My brother inlaws spoke to the owner and there was disconnection between what she told my brother in-law over the phone and what Rambo said she told him. While I was in the room I can't speak to the specifics because I wasn't part of that conversation. We have been having a great time here in Puerto Rico and the people have been amazing outside of this experience. The other dive shop was amazing and treated us fantastic. Rincon diving could learn a thing or two.Written November 3, 2023

Our snorkeling trip was great. It was in open water but my family of average and below average swimmers felt completely safe. My kids ages 18, 16, and 12 all loved it. Our guide Matthew was awesome. Despite tropical storms just 36 hours before our snorkeling, he found us a spot that still had nice visibility. We saw tons of coral, lots of fish and even two sea turtles. My only recommendation is to drink plenty of water before the trip if you go on a hot 90 degree day like we did. We did not and felt some effects of this by the end of our hour or so in the water. Would definitely recommend this trip.

We used Rincon Diving and Snorkeling a couple of years ago to rent snorkeling gear and for a morning of guided snorkeling. They took us to Steps beach and we had a great time.
My wife is not a super strong swimmer so on our trip there a couple of weeks ago we decided to schedule another "guided" snorkeling trip. We paid for it and the next morning went again to Steps beach. As we arrived the owner was getting out of the water with a scuba group and told our guide to refund everyone in our snorkel groups money because the visibility was bad and it was very rough getting in and out. So they cancelled our excursion and refunded our money,
They could have easily just said "well thats the ocean, good days and bad days" but no, in our opinion they went the extra mile to make sure their customers were happy! We thought this was very high class of them. We will use them on our next trip for snorkeling rentals and another guided group.
Oh one more thing. It was a year and a half since we had been there previously, and when we walked in the young lady at the desk said, "oh I remember you!, I don't remember your names but I remember your faces, how are you? and welcome back" - they get tons of business and the salesperson remembered us - pretty amazing...

Claire did a phenomenal job guiding our snorkeling adventure. She fit us well with equipment, explained what we would see, and she remained quite attentive to everyone in the group during our time out near the reef. The reef was spectacular. We saw many variety of fish, corals and even some turtles! You’ll love it!

Amazing excursion, It ws very informative and fun, Our guides Shawn and Tig were very kind, caring and helpful in every way possible. It was a walk-in snorkel, so there isn't a boat that takes you to the snorkel site, you start at the shore of the beach and swim out to the coral reef. There are so many amazing fishes and other sea creatures to be seen and explored out there. This was an amazing experience, I would definitely recommend to everyone looking for a great adventure in the water.

I'm Puertorican and I hadn't been to the island in 10 years. My husband and I live in Texas and were looking forward to this snorkeling tour. It exceeded our expectations!!!
Laurel pointed out many colorful schools of fish, an octopus in hiding, a large lobster, blue and purple corals and many other sea creatures, but what made our day were the two turtles that were gracefully swimming close to us, unafraid, swimming up to breathe and then gracefully diving back in. Laurel is very knowledgeable, I definitely recommend this tour!

We were a party of four, including an 8 year old and a 10 year old. It was the very first time our kids snorkeled and it was just enough for them.
Our guide was so incredibly kind, funny and the kids loved him.
The gentleman in the office was also very welcoming and helpful.
It’s an experience we will never forget as a family!

This is a review of business practice, as due to conditions, we were not able to get out snorkeling. We had originally booked on a Wednesday, but the company canceled due to high surf and poor visibility. Good on them for considering safety and quality of the experience. We rebooked for a Friday with no trouble at all. Friday rolled around and the surf had calmed but visibility remained poor, so the company canceled. Again, I give a lot of credit for putting the experience ahead of profits. We were out of vacation time and my kids were disappointed not to go snorkeling, but I would book with Rincon Snorkeling Adventure again without hesitation.

Hey Jason, thank you for taking the time to review your experience! It is very nice to hear that you appreciate our decision to call off the tours. We do prioritize customer experience over profits because we started this business to share the beauty of the ocean, not give people an experience where they will never want to go back! Thank you for choosing Rincon Diving and we do hope that you can enjoy these stunning reefs one day!

We went in the 9am trip. First time snorkeling in a coral reef and it is an amazing experience! So many species I haven’t seen before and vibrant colors! Very easy trip fitted with gear including mask snorkel fins and life vest that can be inflated or deflated depending on how much flotation you desire. You can keep the snorkel gear for the rest of the day as well. The staff were very professional and our guide, Waldemar, was great and provided information on the species we saw and pointed interesting underwater creatures out as we went along! If you are not familiar enough with the area to rent gear from them and go out on your own and want to see a rare protected natural ecosystem this is a great experience!

Overall this was a great experience. We saw tons of coral, fish, a sting ray, a sea turtle, and had a very helpful guide. My one complaint was that it is listed as a “3 hour snorkeling excursion” and we only spent an hour at most actually in the water. We started at the shop to get our equipment at 9, in the water at 9:30, and done by 10:30. It was a great experience, just not as long as what I had hoped / paid for.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to review your experience and it is great to hear you enjoyed the tour! We tell people to allow a 3 hour time period for the entire experience with 45 min- 1 hour in the water. Depending on the number of customers that day, things can take longer to get ready in the mornings. We are sorry for any miscommunication about the length of the tour and we will think about how we can make it more clear. Thanks for choosing Rincon Diving!

My husband and I have been spending a lot of time in Puerto Rico and we wanted to see the west side of the island. We booked a snorkeling trip with Rincon Snorkeling Adventure and had a great experience. The people at the shop were very welcoming and enthusiastic, they gave us a briefing about the marine preserve Tres Palmas, where the snorkeling would take place. Tiger, our Master Diver, was very knowledgeable, very personable and just a great person to guide our dive experience. We spent a long time in the water, we never felt hurried and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We got to see very interesting looking coral, some tarpon and a turtle. When we go back to Rincon, we plan to go for a deep-water dive with them!

Is there a place to lock up valuables while your group snorkels?
Written March 17, 2023
You will meet at the shop to get your equipment, and for orientation. Then you will drive to the snorkeling site, so you will be able to lock your valuables in the car.

I do not know how to swim but my partner will like to do the tour. Is it posible for me to pay and stay inside the boat or in the area waiting. I just do not want to go in the water. Thank you!
Written October 21, 2020
Hi, we just did this snorkeling trip. There is no boat, you follow them in your own vehicle to the public beach access and they swim with you (participants wear life vests, flippers, and a snorkel and mask) through the reef. You could wait on the beach and your vehicle will be with you as well. You could rent a snorkel and mask from them and walk around in the calm water at the beach looking at the fish underneath while you wait :)

Written July 22, 2019

Do you need to know how to swim to be able to do this?
Written April 3, 2019
Yes, because you are in water where you can’t stand. You are offered noodles which keep you afloat. Being comfortable in the the water a distance from the shore is important.
