We'll meet at northern side of Platja d'Aro main beach (Carvall Bernat), right at the start of Via Brava swimming itinerary for a welcome briefing and some warm-up swimming exercises. Then we'll jump into the water and will swim in a non-competitive way for 1000m. with a qualified local swim guide to reach Cala Belladona beach. Once there, our guide will give us some technical skills to improve open water swimming and then the group return back, either by swimming or walking along the coastal path to Platja d'Aro main beach.
We'll swim into quiet narrow cristal clear water between rocks to explore and enjoy swimming in this incredible spot in Costa Brava. The Costa Brava seabed is unique for its extraordinary biodiversity as well as the opportunities afforded to observe underwater flora and fauna. Posidonia oceanica fields and a seabed of rocks or sand are the main environments found on the Vies Braves itineraries, with starfish, salema porgy, pomfret, white seabream, crabs, octopus, and more.
At Platja d'Aro, we’ll have typical Catalan breakfast with local products in a restaurant right on the beach.
The guide will provide a Safety buoy and a swimming cap for each swimmer.
Water temperature will be nice and warm from July to October—20-24ºC—so a wetsuit won't be required.
