What to expect
  • Your tour begins at your Ayia Napa hotel, where you’ll board an air-conditioned coach destined for the Monastery of St. Barnabas, dedicated to the founder of the Cypriot Orthodox Church. Here, you’ll have the chance visit the monastery’s Icon Museum and the tomb of St. Barnabas. The tour continues to Salamis, an ancient archaeological site founded after the Trojan War, where you can to take a guided tour of the area. See beautifully preserved marble columns, a Greek theater, and Roman baths. Then, hop back on board your coach and travel to Famagusta: spend free time exploring the town’s historic center and purchase a traditional Greek lunch from restaurants recommended by your guide. Travelers also have the option to only visit Famagusta, omitting Salamis and St. Barnabas Monastery, in order to spend four hours of free time in the town. Capture photographs of the Venetian walls that surround the town, and pay a visit to the Gothic church of St. Nicolas. Your final stop is Varosho, an abandoned quarter known as the ghost town, to see disused buildings that haven’t been used since the 1974 Turkish invasion. Conclude your tour back at your Ayia Napa hotel after eight hours of exploration. Please note, a current valid passport is required on the day of travel.

Worth every nickle. I was amazed to see the Abandoned Area. The Turks captured the most successful area of Cyprus. But first they bombed the heaven out of it. Now it is a worthless piece of real estate shut off from everyone. It looks like something out of a B-budget movie. The BBC says the Turkish soldiers have orders to shoot on sight anyone who dares go into the area. The UN man a buffer zone between the occupied territory and the rest of Cyprus.

The guide (Ellen) do not understand english grammar: "program ok?" It is not english phrase. And did not understand my question: what will I have to do? Other woman do not understand 50% phrases in russian. Ellen said: "three past forty five" or "fifteen after forty five"? What is the time? What did english you used?I thinked it is 15:45, but the bus is get out! I had trouble with sim card at Nothern Cyprus. I did not have any real support in Nothern Cyprus!

Dear Sir, thank you for your comments. We are sorry for your bad experience. The meeting time was 15:15hrs and you was the only person that did not show up. The guide and the office were trying to contact you several times by phone but without success. The entire bus with 55 persons was waiting and delaying. The decision was taken to leave without you and when finally reached you by phone, we suggested to take immediately a taxi and to meet our coach at 15:45hrs at the checkpoint. Again we were waiting and after another call we learnt that you are going the several kilometers by foot to the checkpoint but the bus could not wait any longer. With a last call, we tried to explain that you might take the local bus at Derynia checkpoint or a taxi to bring you to your hotel. Please be ensure, that the security of our clients is our first priority. The guides are official and licensed and they always make sure, that all customers did well understand the information especially about the meeting points. We did make all our efforts to contact you and to offer you a solution as we know how stressful such a situation in a foreign country can be. We wish you all the best and a safe journey back home.

Salamis and Famagusta
May 2019 • Couples
Really good day out today. Our guide was very knowledgeable, well organised and the coach was comfortable, air-conditioned, clean with a very good driver. Salamis was interesting, learning about the remains of the buildings that once stood. Going into Famagusta and stopping for lunch, chicken mezze was amazing. Seeing the okd Venitian walls of the city and the winged lions of St Marco was wonderful. Its a full day with the option of going for a swim at the beach on the way back too. Great value at 24 euro each approx.
