      a magical day
My daughter and I had the most magical hike with Ando Andes. It was a glorious day and the scenery was stunning in a pristine environment. The hike was moderate and had just the right amount of challenge. It was totally as described and exceeded our expectations. Thanks for a wonderful day…

The best thing to do in Santiago is leave
This was easily one of the best day tours we have done! Not only was it excellent value and incredible views, but our guide went above and beyond to teach us about Chilean culture and ecology. Cannot recommend this tour enough it was simply the best!

      Beautiful hike, terrible drive
The actual hike was beautiful with stunning scenery. Overall, it's about 6 miles, with the toughest part walking through the plateau area near the top, mainly because of very uneven ground...lots of rocks. Wear good hiking shoes and wear TONS of sunscreen - the elevation and sun is brutal and our group got fairly burnt. The outfitter supplies a sandwich (let them know in advance of any food restrictions) and hiking poles. The downside, as others have said in these reviews, is the painfully long driving time. You get picked up very early and spend about 3 hours going and coming back on the world's most uncomfortable van. Seats are tiny with thin cushioning. And you're crammed together with strangers, so the ride/transit could use some significant improvement. Overall, for the price, it's a great day trip to get out of busy Santiago.

      Excellent Tour
This is an amazing experience. If you have basic physical fitness and want to see a place ethereal in beauty, this is a no-miss excursion. Our guides Jose and Laura, and our driver Carlos, made sure our trip was a learning adventure. They told us about Chilean history, commerce, flora, fauna, geology. Be sure to wear long pants as the ground brush may be scratchy. Wear sunscreen! It can be a bit windy, so dress in layers. This is a MUST DO EXCURSION. If you have the same guide we did, you will not be disappointed.

A very nice drive and hike in the Andes.
A very well organized and comfortable tour and hike. The guides were genuinely expert and friendly. Make sure you bring warm clothes, especially a windbreaker or raincoat with a hood and a warm hat.

Absolutely loved this tour, Laura was a wonderful guide and ensured we all enjoyed our hike, and we were blown away by the beautiful scenery! Our driver was also excellent - with smooth careful driving to make sure none got motion sick. Thanks again!

Cajon del Maipo at the end of August
I had one of the BEST hiking experiences ever on this trip. The weather worked out perfectly for us, the views were stunning and we saw many condors. Andrés was our guide and is super knowledgeable about the area and it was great having someone like him lead us.

      Gabriel & a perfect tour!
Our tour with Gabriel M Zapata was one of the best tours I have experienced. He presented much information on all the topics we were interested in - displaying a wide body of knowledge about Chile, its people, economy, geology, culture and resources. He was a perfect guide, attuned to our particular interests, and a gracious host. I would return for another tour with him absolutely! AND!!!!….we watched a group of five Andean Condors soaring up close! Thanks to Gabriel & our driver Oscar, who spotted the condors and stopped the van. Magical.

A “must-do” day in the Andes. highly recommended.
A truly memorable day from start to finish. Our guide, Gabriel was excellent. His English was fluent and he was able to share his extensive knowledge of his country in a way that was structured, engaging and informative. His driver, Oscar was steady and helpful. The day was a delight culminating with our time up in the mountains meeting all our expectations. A packed lunch was included and this was laid out for us in a delightful rustic bar:cafe.

      First-Class Andean Adventure
Gabriel was an outstanding guide and Oscar was a skilled driver. Four of us had a stellar experience that included watching a family of condors flying near us and many scenic stops to enjoy the stunning environment. Highly recommended!

Guide was NO SHOW and Trip Advisor did nothing to help
Guide was a NO Show. Wasted our day and morning waiting. I still have received refund. TripAdvisor provides no assistance. Do not book with them ever.

Fantastic experience in the Chilean mountains!
This tour is not to be missed! Our local guide, Chris, was the absolute best - so knowledgeable, personable and flexible! We had the opportunity to ‘design our day’ at different points, which was great! My husband and I both walked away saying it was the BEST tour we had done on our 5 week South American adventure! The scenery was so picturesque and we were lucky enough to see some amazing wildlife including a condor, the largest butterfly in Chile, along with some goannas/lizards. The stop off at the Geo Park was one of the many highlights. Do yourself a favour and book this tour. Keep your fingers crossed that you get Chris as your guide as you’ll be sure to have a great time!

      Fantastic hike in the Andes!
I’ve done many excursions over the years, but this day hike in the Andes to Volcan San Jose is top of the list! The scenery was stunning! We were lucky enough to see two condors. The two guides were great - friendly, helpful, and gave us a lot of interesting information. There were seven of us in the group, which was a good size. Ended the day with wine and cheese! Would definitely do this hike again when in Santiago!
