- 538meman0 contributionsIf you do just one thing on your trip, it should be this! This was the highlight of our entire trip - actually, one of the best days of our lives! The location and experience was phenomenal - there are no words or pictures to portray this, but it honestly was because of Gonzalo, Felipe and the AndoAndes team that we had the best time ever. We laughed, hiked, enjoyed breath-taking views and made some amazing friends. The hike isn't just a walk - so be prepared to push yourself, with amazing support along the way :)Written September 2, 2024
- Y8722FNjessicaj0 contributionsCondor hike and views with CamiThe views were spectacular. Cami was out guide and her knowledge of the trail, Chilean history and area were unsurpassed. Not to mention she made it fun! It was a challenging hike in some areas and she made sure let us know what was coming each step of the way. Thank you, Cami!Written September 1, 2024
- 153ashutoshj0 contributionsA wonderful, engaging experience with the best guides in Chile! We did the Condor Canyon Hike with AndoAndes on Aug 12th. Everything about the hike was perfect - communication, pick up from our hotel, the snacks provided and above all the guides! Gonzalo and Andres were exceptional and so was our driver, Oscar. We learned so much about Chile, its culture and the flora and fauna of the Andes as we went up the trail. This trailhead is about 1 1/2 hours away from Santiago and takes you through the beautiful Cajon del Maipo. The hike takes around 6-7 hours and the views throughout are magnificent. When you reach the top of the cliff you can see the majestic condors very close, taking to the skies from their nests on the cliffs. Overall an experience I will never forget. It's not an easy hike, quite steep when going up and you have to deal with gravel/scree when you are coming down, so make sure you have good hiking boots. The total distance up and down is around 11 km(7 miles) but our group, which consisted of novices, in the 12 to 55 years of age had a lot of fun! Gonzalo and Andres were extremely helpful and ensured that all of us completed it safely. They made it the highlight of our Chile trip! When we returned to our bus, a wonderful spread was waiting for us with some excellent Chillean wine. Thanks Gonzalo, Andres and Oscar!Written August 23, 2024
- U5857PQstefanies0 contributionsTravelers beware.Travelers beware! This company is knowingly selling tours to the volcano even though the road is closed for the season. Yes, it is closed until September due to the POSSIBILITY of avalanches. 2 days before the tour they asked to switch days as they didn't have enough people but would wait to find more. They then cancelled the day before the tour - after they found enough people, but then there was an untimely avalanche. They offered up a comparable option, which I reluctantly accepted. They only left me a half day to find a new tour. There is no unfortunate avalanche. This tour was never going to happen. The road is closed for a few months during the winter and this company is still selling tours with the intention of switching them out at the last minute. I highly advise that you do your research and check when the roads in the mountains officially open. GET A REFUND IF THEY TRY TO CANCEL YOUR TOUR LAST MINUTE.Written August 13, 2024
- Ben G0 contributionsEl Alfalfal, Cajón del Maipo day trip (10k)We had an absolutely amazing tour with Gonzalo to Cajon del Maipo with Gonzalo after the tour we initially booked had to be changed due to a landslide. The original tour was a 8k rated easy, this was a 10k rated medium. I'm in ok shape and managed it fine, though I was pretty wiped out afterwards. Gonzalo was a great guide and told us a lot about the region, offered to carry some of our stuff since only one of us had a pack, and provided hiking poles. We got there early, before 9am and I was grateful for the early start when we saw the number of people coming up closer to midday. The canyon is known for its Andes condors and we saw at least three, and one even flew right over us. For the first hour or so we have the top of the canyon to ourselves, other than the local doggo that followed us up in hopes of snacks (and got some!). It was a truly stunning hike and there were only four of us including Gonzalo so it was closer to a private tour. Lunch was provided at the top, and there was wine and a charcuterie board for us when we got back to the truck. This was one of the stand out experiences of my time in Chile and I'd highly recommend AndoAndes to anyone looking for a day trip out of Santiago.Written August 4, 2024
- Q9447WDj_ssicam0 contributionsAmazing adventure with breathtaking viewsIt was a wonderful experience! The guide Andres took us at our place at the right time, reached us a lot about the mountain, the culture and was prepared with water, fruits and a sanduich. When we got uphills, the view was stoning! Later we got the picnic just before get onboard to come back to Santiago. I really recommend it for those that want to be next to nature and beautiful landscapes!Written July 20, 2024
- 126Gordo0 contributionsCouldn't do the volcano trek, but a great alternative was offeredMy tour to the volcano was cancelled due to an avalanche closing the road, so I was offered a 10km hike in the Cajón del Maipo to the Mirador Del Condor. It was a great alternative, with the first part being a little challenging before it tapered off. At the destination (and on the way), we saw many Condors Harold was a great guide, the vegetarian sandwich for lunch was quite tasty and the food/wine offerings afterwards were also great. Highly recommend hiking with this groupWritten July 8, 2024
- noahkK6693BH0 contributionsOnce-in-a-Lifetime Combination of Mountain Views, Condor Encounters, and World Class Guides Close to SantiagoAndoAndes offers a world class experience and special opportunity to hike to Mirador de los Cóndores in Cajón del Maipo. The incredible mountain views and unique geography on their own were more than worth the trip, though the icing on the cake was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see 12 Andean condors circling and gliding (some within 10 meters of our group) at the pinnacle of the hike. The guides' wonderful personalities and deep knowledge of Chilean culture, the local flora and fauna, and history of the region rounded out an unforgettable day. We went in June and the temperature was a comfortable 15 C / 60 F with minimal wind. The food and snacks were very thoughtfully done as well and the trip from Santiago went by quickly (2 hours). We will never forget Gonzalo, Laura, and Felipe for giving us one for the ages!Written June 5, 2024
- Navibarnsley0 contributionsGreat ViewsNot the trip I originally signed up for, but that one didn’t have enough people on it so I moved onto this. Very enjoyable and wonderful views and a good guide. Would have liked more hiking but was still fun. Good group as well and a nice surprise at the end (I’ll say no more)Written May 24, 2024
- markhG4524KX0 contributionsIncredible Andes hiking experienceHighly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a moderate hike in the Andes. The tour guides Laura and Consuela were so much fun and made it a fantastic experience for the group. They were so friendly and I had a blast with the group. The views were spectacular. I would definitely do it again.Written May 12, 2024
- tatasz0 contributionsHighlight of my trip to SantiagoAmazing. The group was really small (just me and another person), and the guide was great. The hike itself was beautiful, with colorful mountains, glaciers and a lovely valley with streams. We seen horses and goats too.Written April 28, 2024
- mel71550 contributionsGreat hike to the Andes with Laura . Was well taken care of .I enjoyed this tour to the Andes with Ando Andes . Initially I was a little hesitant as I was ghosted by them for up to 3 weeks . Even when I sent WhatsApp texts . However, it came alive about 2 days before the start of the hike and all is good . Transportation : Was very good, punctual and driver was very safe . Felt safe at all time . The hike : There were 2 guides- the lead guide as well as the follow up guide who picks up stragglers behind the group- as such felt very safe . The experience : This is an eco hike - so you get a great talk about the flora and fauna of the Andes as well as seeing the St Joseph Volcano at 5900m. Wow the landscape is so beautiful - you need to see to believe it . The pace was steady and slow so it was more of a very pleasant walk . Will strongly recommend this tour . Also- no pressure from them to write reviews in TripAdvisor which I truly appreciate unlike the other tours I took . Also as it is eco-friendly , I greatly enjoyed this trip . Do take it if you are in to eco-tourism and protecting and appreciating the environment .Written April 21, 2024
- T5789WBpatricias0 contributions10/10 HikeI travel quite a bit and book a lot of tours/day trips online. I have to say the Cajón del Maipo and Volcán San José Hike 8K was one of my favorite day trips so far. This tour was amazing if you want a nice hike with amazing views. Our guide Francisco was great. He was on time picking us up from the hotel. He was very knowledgable and passionate about the area and culture. They provide a lunch and large water bottle for you. They also ask ahead of time if you have any food allergies which I thought was nice. I also brought my own water bottle and a few small snacks. It started out kind of chilly in the morning but then got much warmer as the hike went on. I wore layers that I could take off as I went and that worked out well for me. It was a lot dustier than I expected. That did not take away from enjoying the hike, but if you have allergies you might want to pack some meds/kleenex for that. We had a great group where everyone walked about the same pace and had beautiful weather. I know both of those things could maybe change your experience but we really lucked out and had a fun time. (For reference my friend and I are in our 30s from the United States)Written April 15, 2024
- KayUrban0 contributionsAwesome dayMy sister, husband, and I had an amazing time on our 8K hiking tour in the Andes. Our two guides, Francisco and Andres, were awesome; so professional, kind, and passionate about the region. We learned a lot from them and they really made the experience.Written April 9, 2024
- E6969NBwillw0 contributionsWonderful Hiking in the Andes mountainsAn amazing hiking tour from a very professional outfit. From start to finish, this was a first class experience. We were advised the day prior that pick up would be at 6.10am and we were picked up at exactly that time. On the bus ride to the hike (an excellent very clean bus) our fantastic guide Francisco played us some different types of Chilean music which was a nice touch. He also provided lots of interesting information about the areas we were driving through. We arrived at our starting point for the hike after just a couple of hours and set off on the first 2k segment to the top of the valley. We then proceeded to begin a loop initally for around for another 2k before stopping for 45 mins for lunch. My wife and I were brave and dipped our feet in the freezing cold Andean water which was very refreshing. We then continued round to complete the loop before descending back down the final 2k via the same route we had taken to get up. Stunning views of the mountains and volcano throughout and a very enjoyable hike. Throughout the hike Franciso gave us plenty of time to stop and take pictures and there were plenty of spots to allow the group to get reform. He also provided plenty of information throughout the hike. We were incredibly lucky to see many Andean condors some particularly close to us. Upon completing the hike after an hour of travel we stopped at a little cafe where we were treated to an empanada, a glass of wine and some of Francisco's just purchased goats cheese. A wonderful end to what was a fantastic day. I can't recommend this tour enough to people. It's definitely value for money and a great day trip out of the craziness of Santiago city! Highly recommended and Francisco is a top guy!Written April 6, 2024

My sister in law and I (in our mid 40’s) went on this tour. We were picked up by 2 young, bilingual guides Francisco and Elias. They were awesome! We picked up 3 more people and drive to an awesome local joint about an hour outside the city. We were able to order coffee and breakfast there while they packed our lunch. The food was awesome and they were very accommodating to my vegetarian diet. We then drive another hour into the mountains, the guides were very informative and pointed out all the sights. We did a short hike to a waterfall. Then drive a few mins more to the hiking spot (a goat farm) where they let me play with the goats. We hiked about an hour. They offer walking sticks. I would rate this hike a little above beginner. It has some steep moments but not bad. We took pics in a meadow and relaxed, ate lunch. Hiked back to the car (3.8 miles) the guides were really attentive to my SIL she is not an experienced hiker. We then drove another 15 mins to the hot springs. We were there for about an hour. Soaking and relaxing. Then we drove back to the restaurant about an hour. They had wine and lite bites waiting for us. Then another hour home. It was a perfect day. I would say this- bring a wind jacket, a hat, sunblock, bathing suit and towel. I forgot my jacket and the guide Francisco gave me one of his. Do this!!!
