For wine-lovers, experienced or beginners, we have created a series of tours where you can learn about and enjoy this fascinating world. By doing a tour at Santa Rita you will discover, close-up, Chile’s wine roots, the entire wine-making process, you will taste our best wines and take-in all the cultural heritage of the winery in Alto Jahuel.  We are not only wine tours, besides, you could visit the Andean Museum with more than 3.000 pieces of the pre columbian art, walk through the centenary park where is located a beautiful neo-gothic church. Or just taste our plates at our a la carte restaurant, Dona Paula, which has been mentioned by specialized critics as the best restaurant outsider Santiago.                                                                              The selection tour is a walk through the vineyards and varietal garden plus the complete process of making, aging, and bottling the wine finishing with a superior wine tasting including Premium wines served with cheese & biscuits. Highlights: Cal y Canto Cellar and Patriots’ Cellar. Tasting: 1 Gran Reserva, 2 Ultra Premium wines served with cheese & crackers.

Disappointing Experience at Santa Rita Tour: Lack of Quality and Poor Customer Service
I want to write a review about the really bad experience I had at the Santa Rita tour on November 10th. I'm Chilean and with my Brazilian girlfriend, we visited the vineyard accommodations. We are big enthusiasts of wine tourism, and over the years we have done numerous tours in vineyards both in Chile (such as Concha y Toro, Alyan, and Vik) and in Uruguay and Bolivia. Due to our experience and enthusiasm, we chose the "Selection" tour in English at 4:15 PM, expecting a level of quality that matched the intermediate category we had booked. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below our expectations and the basic standards for a tour of this level. To begin with, the guide did not have a good command of English, which made it difficult for us to understand the explanations. Additionally, the guide did not show any sympathy or charisma, resulting in a tour that never managed to be welcoming or entertaining. Furthermore, the guide did not demonstrate enough knowledge about the vineyard or the wines, leaving us with more questions than answers, and when we asked questions, they were generally not well attended to. Moreover, the guide often spoke with their back to us, making it difficult to hear their already limited explanations. We observed that other nearby groups doing tours in English, Spanish, and Portuguese were receiving much more information and context about the wines, the vineyard, and the winemaking process compared to what was offered to us, despite having paid for an intermediate tour, which is not cheap. To our disappointment, we felt that the content offered was even inferior to a basic tour. Furthermore, there was another couple from Ireland in our tour who also expressed their clear dissatisfaction. After the tour ended, we tried to make our complaint in person, but unfortunately, the person present did not have the authority to resolve the situation and asked us to send an email instead of providing an immediate solution. We emailed the vineyard over a week ago because we wanted to know or at least get some kind of message from them, yet over a week has passed and they have not even replied with a thanks for the information. Overall, it was a really bad experience, and I would not recommend Santa Rita's tour.

Great guide, great wine, great views
Gorgeous experience! We learned a ton of history about the winery and how Chilean history played into it's creation and where it's at today. We got some lovely pictures around the park and had an excellent time in the tasting which was 1. delicious and 2. well-explained by our guide Victor. He was extremely knowledgable about everything we had questions on and was able to guide us through more in depth explanations of the wine and their notes as well.

More than just a winery tour
Excellent tour that goes beyond just seeing grapevines, wine making equipment and a tasting. It includes walking around the beautiful, historic grounds of this historic vineyard and winery. The tour guide was excellent and fluent in English. My wife and daughter - who are not major winos like me - also loved the tour. Having said all that, the wine tasting was excellent and generous too.

Amazing wine tour! So worth the travel
Our guide Victor was amazing! This truly felt like a premium wine tour. Much smaller than what we had at Concha Y Toro (only 5 of us vs 10+ at Concha). Interesting that the founders of these two oldest Chilean vineyards are cousins… We had freshly opened wine bottles for us for the tasting, and the cheese board was way more diverse and tasty. We were able to bring one glass and the board home as gifts. Victor gave us a bonus pour at the end. We tasted their premium wines such as Pewen (the premium carmere) and Bougainville, which is my favorite red blend. Since we stayed in the hotel for two nights, this Bougainville will Bring back memories of our extraordinary and luxurious stay at the Hotel Casa Real Santa Rita. This was such a good, pleasant wine tasting experience. We learned a lot from our guide, into the techniques, the vibes, the different varieties. Most importantly, it didn’t feel like a hassle at all compared to Concha Y Toro, which was so crowded it felt like a zoo.

a lovely afternoon at Santa Rita
We went with our family on the premium wine tour this afternoon, with the guide Pepe, and had a wonderful experience. Santa Rita is a beautiful colonial site, with wonderful and inspired gardens. We had a delightful guided tour of the grounds. The wine tasting was well organized -- great selection of four wines, and cheese, nuts and crackers to go with it. overall it was a wonderful afternoon

Santa Rita Guided Wine Tour and gourmet lunch
My daughter and I had a great time on our tour. Our tour guide was filled with knowledge about Santiago and Chilean wines. The tour was fabulous, the museum really interesting and our lunch was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this tour!

      Heaven on earth gardens
Absolutely gorgeous gardens. A charming walk through its views, walking among the trees and getting to know every corner was a beautiful experience, the winery was very well preserved and the tours were very interesting. We had 4 wines. Paired with cheese and crackers.

      Overprices, no worthy !!!
The experience was very disappointed for a premium tour, really walking to the garden passing by the house the chuch,no much info about the wine making, grapes, process, very very poor and extremely overpriced. It was not what we were were expecting.

A wonderful tour of the Santa Rita winery and historic estate
Thank you to the team at the Santa Rita Winery and especially to my amazing guide Josefa for a truly memorable tour of your beautiful facility. The estate is stunning and the park, with its range of old trees, grotto, lake and chapel, gorgeous. The wine tasting experience was fascinating, and delicious, and I learnt so much about wines and how to taste them. Josefa was a wonderful teacher and I learnt much about the history of Chilean wines. This was has been one of the highlights of my holiday in Chile. I would recommend it unreservedly. A feast for the brain, the eyes and the taste buds!

Great finish to a long drive.
Unfortunately our directions took us to the wrong address 1 hour away from the Santa Rita winery. We missed the tour but they were gracious enough to give us a wine tasting. Cecelia was wonderful for staying late! Much appreciated. Gracias! Lovely grounds and view of the courtyard while tasting wonderful wines.

      Carmenere tour
My friend and I did the Carmenere tour. I don't think it was technically a private tour but in the low season, we were the only participants. This tour included a horse-drawn carriage ride in the grounds which was a little corny but still enjoyable and would have been even more so in fine weather. Victor was our guide and was especially good at leading the tasting of Carmenere wines, which was accompanied by a cheese board with cracker and nuts (we took the boards home at their invitation!). I also liked the incorporation of history in the tour with the little video about the soldiers sheltering during the war of independence.

Beautiful place, good wine, not the best tour
I have to say I was a bit disappointed in some aspects but overall I had a good experience. I'm just really upset that the experience did not match what I paid for. For one if I was to do it all over again I would probably not have used TripAdvisor and just gone straight to the winery or call them directly to schedule a tour. TripAdvisor definitely charges you way more than actually going to the winery and purchasing admittance to a premium tour on your own. The price on TripAdvisor is like 70 bucks but if you go to the winery it's only like 25,000 pesos which is roughly 30 bucks or so US dollars. Honestly, for how this tour went it's definitely not worth $70, at least for this particular day I'm not sure if every tour is like this. My tour was originally scheduled for seven people in English. Half of the original group were late so it ended up starting up with three people. 20 minutes into the tour the other half of the group started showing up. Instead of proceeding through the tour and having a nice relaxing time we stood around waiting for these late people to catch up with us and then 10 minutes later they added on six more people halfway through the tour. Because of all the people in the different backgrounds this tour quickly switched from an English tour to a spanish/portuguese/french tour which was aggravating because it's not what I paid for and it became overcrowded so of course the tour guide was more busy rounding up people than actually talking about the winery. Also, because we had to stand around waiting so long we ended up losing around 20 to 30 minutes of what would have been proceeding through the tour to just standing around waiting which, led to us being rushed through our wine tasting! This was really obnoxious because I had to throw all my wines together in one glass toss my cheese into a paper bag and run out the cellar with the tour guide so he could get to his next tour at 4:15 p.m. Instead of being able to sit relax and enjoy the wine. We ended up just touring the gardens, hardly spending any time talking about the wine production process. I feel like if I spend $70 on a wine tour for a major wine company I should at least be able to walk out and tell you how they process wine and how they produce it and what varieties they make wine with. Sorry none of that was part of the tour couldn't tell you have no idea. If it was mentioned, it must have been mentioned in Portuguese or French because it definitely on this "English" tour was not part of the tour guides message. I would have liked if the tour guide taled more about the wine production then and now. It would have been nice to see the production line, or for him to have even mentioned how the production works. We only walk to a space where the old cellar was, and the tour guide was too busy rounding up people and talking to all the newcomers and catching them up on what we had just spent the last 20 minutes going through since they were late, instead of talking about what we were currently looking at. it would have also been nice to have the guide actually even walk you through the vineyard a little bit. The tour was heavily focused on the gardens and the history of the 120 soldiers then rushing through a wine tasting before the next tour. Don't get me wrong I love the gardens I would definitely go back just to see those and the history is really interesting. I also like the little gifts they give you on the way out, I would have liked to know more about the grapes, what they're growing what part of the plots are growing which varieties, which ones are on the property and more about the production of today and it's process. Our guy did not mention a single bit of it and I had to ask a lot of questions that I would normally expect a guide to offer information about without having to be prompted, for example what is that giant barrel for? The tour could generally just use a little bit more improvement as well as the tour guide being more attentive. It's not all his fault though, I'm sure it would help if they didn't keep adding people halfway through the tour and rushing us through the tasting, that was probably the most disappointing part.

      Great
Victor for president!! Great guide and very personable. The vineyard/house/church/etc were so very beautiful, and the wine tasted great. Restaurant filet was on point with a good glass of carmenere. The museum was the icing on the cake, what a day!

      Just average...
My wife and I did the Classic tour and had lunch in the restaurant. The tour, including the guide, was underwhelming. The guide conveyed little to no information about wine making and/or this specific wine yard. He did also not appear very engaged or inspired about his job. The tasting was okay. The wines did not really convince me. In the restaurant, they did not have our reservation, even though we booked the tour and restaurant the day before, by phone. After some consideration we got a table in the huge room. It is a pity that there are no outside tables, even though the weather was perfect for sitting outside. The food was average but overpriced.

Excellent tour with Mauricio. We enjoyed the horse-drawn carriage ride, visiting the park and chapel, and the tasting experience. Exceptional wine; it was difficult to choose which bottles to bring home.

The tour was great and Max looked after us very well. But getting to the vineyard was very difficult because of the out-of-date information on your website. We took the metro from Santiago to Las Mercedes. This worked well. But the bus MB81 you recommend on your website never turned up and after waiting an hour, we had to take a taxi, which was very expensive. The frequency of buses (every 30 minutes according to your webite) dates back to pre-covid days. Now there are apparently only 3 buses per day, one at 8am and 2 in the afternoon, which makes this method impractical for the late morning tour in English. The journey took us 2.5 hours from central Santiago. But for the return journey, 2 of your very sweet straff, father and son waiters at your hotel, stopped and gave us a lift to Buin (10 minutes by car) and the train from Buin to Santiago Central train Station took onlyabout 35 minutes. This cost us a fraction of the journey to the vineyard and much less time too :) The connection between Buin Station and the vineyard would need regular servicing; perhaps the vineyard would like to offer visitors the opportunity to book a shuttle for a small fee when they book the tour? This would make the vineyard more accessible and less costly to visit, and generate more income for the vineyard too. A win, win scenario :). We love your wine and your vineyard and your guide. But you must improve the information on your website or you will lose customers.

The entire environment, the history, the wines, the restaurant give you a truly interesting and knowledgeable day. I cannot pass up the opportunity to comment on the exquisite wines we tasted, the variety of wines that you can take home, but the most important thing is all the history that comes hand in hand with such good Mostos. More recommended than a Concha y toro, the service is great. Highly recommended Congratulations!!!!

This tour is worth leaving Santiago and going out into the countryside, which from downtown is less than an hour away. With its location against the hills, classic architecture and fine wines this place is an authentic experience that gives enhances one's understanding of another aspect of Chilean culture.

Our guide Victoria was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and absolutely charming. The pacing of the tour was perfect and was interesting even on a Sunday when the main plant is not working. I highly recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed the tour and the wine tasting. Very nice spaces and excellent service. Everyone very friendly including our guide.
Our visit was in May and that's why we didn't enjoy the best view. I would recommend going in spring or summer to better enjoy the green spaces, nature and get better photos. Otherwise everything is excellent. Without a doubt we would repeat it.

Victor gave us an excellent 1hr tour of the vineyard followed by a 4-wine tasting and cheese. His English was great and he was very happy to answer all of our questions. The tour was private just for the two of us so felt very special. The old house the vineyard is built around is beautiful with lovely gardens. We had a delicious lunch on the terrace. And of course the wine was delicious! Very glad we were able to add this tour to our time in Santiago - many thanks Victor!

We went with an Uber from Santiago to do the classic tour and really enjoyed it. Even though we were stuck in traffic and late, our guide was so kind to do a short version of the tour (which in the end was nearly as long as the original). We tasted three different wines. Our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well.

I went to see the vineyard with my French family and it really was a very entertaining tour. Karina, the guide, did her best to provide information about the process and place. The vineyard is very well cared for visually, with spacious places and good facilities. Also, a very nice museum and a store selling high quality products. Thank you very much for the experience and special moment.

Excellent tour of the beautiful Santa Rita Winery with Rima - a very knowledgable wine expert from Mongolia.
Had a great time. The wine was amazing - both the reds and the Sauvignon Blanc.
Learned a lot of new things about wine, Chile and Mongolia.
Thanks again for the wonderful tour Rima!

Enjoyed our time at Viña Santa Rita! The highlight was definitely the wine and cheese tasting with Victor. Excellent wines and facts about the origin of Carmenere. The rest of the tour was so-so. Would have enjoyed seeing more of the grounds/having a photo opportunity for our group outside. But good for a nice half day excursion outside of Santiago. Easy to take Uber there and back.
