About
Take in the 360 degree views of the coastline from the summit of Stony Hill in the Torndirrup National Park.  From here, amidst the pristine bushland, it is possible to see the vast expanse of the Southern Ocean and the rugged coastlines that early explorers first encountered as they rounded the peninsula for the sheltered waters of Princess Royal Harbour.  Get closer to the edge! At The Gap, feel the power of the wind and water from the masterfully crafted, protected walkway.  See the pounding waves as they thrash the granite walls and surge into the spaces below. Exhilarating! Travel on, and complete your journey and exploration of the impressive coastline with some delectable afternoon tea.

What a wonderful place to see nature at its best. It is a shame it isn't natural like it used to be it has paths and has a walk way now the council expects people to pay to see what nature has given to us for free, for all to see. A terrible shame.

It is a a wonderful place and large areas of the region are protected in National Parks and Reserves. To protect the environment pathways are provided so the impact of visitors is reduced and many more people can enjoy the natural wonders. Park entry fees are a little contribution to the cost of providing and maintaining this access to our biodiversity hotspot. Thanks for visiting and discovering how amazing is the south coast of Western Australia.

We had a great time. The tour allowed us to see and learn so much of Albany’s history and gorgeous landscape! Highly recommend. We were so glad we did the tour rather than driving ourselves around - it was nice to just sit back and relax, and not worry about directions/parking/navigation. Plus the commentary along the way was fantastic :)

Wow! That's our job to help you sit back and relax. We do the navigating while you get to REALLY look around and be immersed in the region's extraordinary and majestic landscape. Come again and "we'll show you more!"

The experience of The Gap is sensory. Wild, windy and breathtaking as you describe it. Thanks for recommending it - it's a must see when visiting Albany.

Absolutely amazing, walking up onto the platform you can hear the waves crashing against the cliff face but it isn't until you get to the end of it that you experience the raw power of the ocean. Stunning view.

Spectacular.
Nov 2019
We'd driven out to Frenchman Bay to look at the whaling museum, and en route back to Albany we turned off to visit the Gap and the Natural Bridge. There was a bit of wind - not enough to make us lean into it or want to hang on to something - but the sea was pounding at the cliffs, and looking down, it was easy to imagine how an incautious tourist could be washed off the rocks. The story is told on plaques, and the bravery of the mate aboard a whale chaser (who leaped into the sea to rescue the tourist) is well recorded. Some people are born lucky ...

Great Place in Western Australia
Apr 2018 • Couples
The tour starts out going through the countryside to The Gap and Natural Arch Bridge. You see kangaroos along the way. The ocean and rocky shore is stunning in the morning sun. Next, you tour the city on your way to a high observation point where you see the entire bay and surrounding islands. You end you tour at the ANZAC Center. It tells the story of the men who went from Australia to Gallipoli during WW 1. It is extremely well done and worth the time.

Hi ncpeterson 2004 It sounds like you saw a great deal of Albany and the Torndirrup National Park, as well as, the National Anzac Centre on your recent visit. The granite cliff edges are sensational walls against which the ocean crashes and the best viewing is from the new platform at The Gap. In King George Sound there are many islands including Michaelmus and Breaksea. A local author, Di Wolfer has written about 'The Lighthouse Girl' who lived on Breaksea Island and her view of the departing Anzac fleet. The Anzac story is well recorded and revealed at the National Anzac Centre. We are delighted you toured with us and found Albany 'a great place'. Come again to the Amazing South Coast.
