      Don't bother!
Very disappointed! The destination was spectacular and the boat was a lovely old sailing boat, unfortunately sails were put up in the last hour, only for show as we were still under the engine the entire time. Felt like it was an inconvenience to put them up. If you have mobility issues this tour is definitely not for you. We had to climb out of the boat onto the side of the dinghy and into the dinghy to be dumped out next to the coral. Then the reverse to get back in. No info given on this at all. Once at tongue bay, we were again dumped out into the water into sharp rocks to wade ourselves onto the beach. Cheap snorkel sets and filthy dirty pool noodles. The food was pretty crappy as well. Advertised home made muffins (Coles mini muffins & yesterday's at best, cut in half), lunch was a chicken wrap, which was ok, afternoon tea was advertised as tropical fresh fruits and cheese. Def no cheese and the fruit was very mediocre, was sat in the middle where only a half a dozen people could get to it and was devoured by the people who could reach. No drinks included except a cup of tea or coffee in the morning and gross tap water. The main skipper looked like he was hungover and couldn't care less, both he and another training skipper were vaping the entire day. Felt very unprofessional. Not a sailing experience as advertised and the food was definitely not as advertised. Would never go with them again and wouldn't recommend!

      Great sunset cruise
Our host suggested this 2 hour sunset cruise and it we weren't disappointed. Crew, Oscar & Katie, took a small group out for a lovely sail around Airlie Beach Bay. We were offered a glass of Prosecco on arrival and cheese platters were provided. The Providence is an older 2 master that provides a true sailing experience. A great way to finish off the day.

Stunning sunset sailing in Airlie Beach!
The tour is a chill sailing trip along the coast of Airlie Beach / Shute Harbour. Beautiful sunset views, cool crew, delicious snacks on board and 1 welcome drink + open bar for drinks purchase. If you want to relax, unwind and enjoy a sunset from the ocean, this is your best option!

We have chartered MiLady with skipper, Grant, several times and have loved every second. Best value for money. We will charter this vessel again.

      Lovely Whitsunday Cruise!!
Had an amazing time out on providence for the day!! The food was lovely we had coffee and tea served with banana bread, cookies, muffins, chicken wraps, frittata, laminations, and a fruit platter to name some! We did a snorkel on a beautiful reef and had time on whitehaven beach to explore and go up to see the lookout view of hill inlet. We put the sails up whenever we had enough wind and the crew was happy to explain how they worked and get us guest involved in hoisting up the sails with them:) I would definitely recommend this trip for any backpackers or groups coming through airlie!!

      Amazing tour
I highly recommend the tour! The crew was very kind and helpful, clear on the instructions. There’s plenty of food during the day. The boat is so beautiful and Whitehaven is a must, outstanding beach, I have no words to describe. You should go. Don’t forget to pass sunscreen and that’s all.

Highly recommended for the Jack Sparrow at heart!
We had such a fantastic time being Providence Pirates! We really enjoyed the casual, relaxed atmosphere that Providence offers (definitely not as regimented as others tours we noticed, which was our preference). Oscar and Jack were friendly hosts and very accomodating to all aboard.

      Disappointing diesel sailing
Destination was amazing but despite that the trip was very disappointing. We were on a sailboat but the engine was running all the time. The sails were up for a couple of hours, but just for show. We were never near a true sailing experience. There was wind, but the schedule didn't allow for sailing as we got in just in time with full engine all day. Better to go for the faster and cheaper trips on a motorboat and save time, money and disappointment. To sell a sailing experience like they do and not deliver is misleading marketing. There was also no information that there would be no sailing. Also not about snorkling gear not including finns and no exposure suits for the swimming at the beach. All other operators hat suits for their guests due to the jellyfish.

      Don’t do this excursion.
I have never left a review on anything, ever. I am easy to please. The captain on this cruise was horrible. I think he is new to tourism. He has to be. While Whitehaven beach was wonderful, the lack of interest by him in everything a tour should encompass was surreal, laughable, if not dangerous. Until this crew turns over, don’t bother with this excursion. I hope the owner of the vessel reads this review.

Excellent experience, have a love of older wooden sailing vessels and this Gaf Schooner was very cool. Capt Dan and Kev were great hosts.

Such a wonderful and relaxing experience. Even though it was overcast and not an “amazing” sunset we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Definitely something everyone should do when in the Whitsundays.

The views were amazing, the other passengers were friendly- the crew was great - the only disappointing feature was that there was only one sail up - the others were being repaired- I wanted to experience a sailing trip - I think you should be told this before going.

    DO NOT BOOK !!

When we got our booking confirmation it said a gourmet nibble platter and glass of champagne was included, it certainly wasn’t champagne and the ‘gourmet’ nibble platter was some bread, dip, crackers and a few bits of fruit, there was only 1 platter for everyone on board to share and they had squeezed so many people on that we could barely all fit we had to all squeeze in next to each other and couldn’t move

We started sailing directly into a massive storm and as the crew didn’t seem concerned we figured it must not have been going to hit us, next minute it was pissing down with rain and we were all trying o cover ourselves with our jackets while the crew stood under the awning in their wet weather gear, we sat out in saturated for quite a while before they bother to take us back in , not to mention this was in complete darkness , the ship doesn’t have lights other than on the side so we were literally sitting in the darkness, wet and cold

When we got off the main guy was like ‘hope you enjoyed your trip , but if rain but a nice sunset’ I’m not sure what sunset you were looking at but the sunset was completely behind the clouds , completely understand you can’t control this but this had to be the most dodgy and worst sunset cruise I have ever been on

Sorry to hear you had such bad weather which makes everything unpleasant and was certainly not our intention. Winter in the Whitsundays is usually dry. If there is rain on the radar we cancel. But sometimes it can be unexpected.

Being semi local, we were excited to do an activity that we were yet to do in beautiful Airlie Beach. This was a gift to our daughter for her 30th birthday, but sadly it had drizzled rain all day. We were expecting it to be cancelled as per their email when we booked, saying; we don’t like sailing in rainy weather as l’m sure you don’t either. You are correct, I didn't want to sail especially with NOWHERE to take cover except for the toilet. BUT they did not cancel, and we boarded the Providence Sailing boat. Dressed for a night out, hair and makeup, plus suitable jackets but NOT FULL WET WEAR.
So lets do a recap of this "sunset cruise" it sounds amazing doesn't it?
And I'm sure it is, in better conditions.
    BUT THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE
All seating was wet, because it had rained on and off during the day, and they had also just returned from snorkeling at Whitehaven. One would think the seating would be swapped prior to boarding. But No if you didn't have a jacket to sit on! You got a wet bottom. Come on Crew, surely, we deserve the basics of dry seating to sit and sip our wine while sailing the Whitsundays at sunset.

Nibbles were placed on a flat surface of the ship, where only those close could access safely and when it started to rain, it became spoilt anyhow. Thinking in this day and age, a small snack box for each paying guest would be more appropriate. I sure as hell didn't eat any of it, with everyone's fingers dipping in it. The crew didn't blink and eye as the rain fell and spoilt the food anyhow.

The rain jackets were sitting in a pile of wet pulp on deck, not that it mattered because they were in such poor condition, with sleeves missing, majority had large tears and holes in them, you needed two to make one. And THEY WERE WET. The crew did not offer any assistance. Just Disgraceful, I'm sure they wouldn't pass any accreditation review. Perhaps if you choose to cruise, when rain is a possibility, you should hand a dry, clean raincoat in good condition to your paying guests as they board.

Thank goodness for a price you could buy drinks on board, the only thing that helped make this experience bearable. I'm sure the majority of guests on board this miserable night would share my views.

Thanks for your feedback and we would be happy to take you out again in better weather if you are local and have that option. We have had two weeks of unpredictable weather. Raincoats are all replaced.
